I feel that is a fair statement.

 

Appreciate it, yes....i do...just as I appreciate her show must go on performance from last year. It's funny- I complain about that as well, however it is still a huge moment for her career and whenever I torture friends with Celine which i often do- that is a performance I always show. Along with i surrender from a new day.

 

I appreciate all the elements of the performance that there are to appreciate. It's just important to note that there are a dozen elements of a performance and just because some are positive doesn't mean all have to be. It's fair to comment on all elements in my eyes.

 

And yes, overall in the grand scheme of things as I said - it was a successful nite for celine. Positive for her, good reception, wonderful actually. Looked great. Beautiful setting. Positive tweeting, trending. Prob gonns chart. But just because i acknowledge that doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to also analyze the vocal aspect. I'm a person who burns live performances onto CD's to drive around and listen to simply because listening to the CD versions get boring after so many times. Lol. So yes, I love Celine for many reasons but vocally I do hold her to a high standard!!! The day I stop critiquing her vocal is the day i stop caring which means I'm not a fan. That day will not come.

 

I wasn't necessarily speaking of you specifically. You tend to be more objective on your opinions. Your review from last year's tour was stellar! I just know exactly who is going to complain at the very moment they do, and I know exactly what they are going to complain about. People will complain about something, and Celine will do the opposite and then they will complain about that. It's a never ending, and vicious cycle. The woman can't win with some of the people on this forum. It takes so much energy to complain and be negative. I can't imagine people's every day lives, if Celine Dion is something they complain about as much as they do, and for that I feel sorry. I absolutely do not agree with everything she does. But I don't harp on it! She's a human being. A 49 year old human being, who has been BELTING her face off since she was 12 years old! I'll watch her perform, and if it's an off night...ok, fine! She's a skilled vocalist and a disciplined one at that...albeit not as disciplined as she was at the peak of her career. Am I nervous for her sometimes? As a singer myself...yes. I sometimes am nervous for her. But then she will come out and blow us all away. She will be fine, and she doesn't need her fans dissecting every single note that comes out of her mouth. If WE think she had an off night...imagine what Celine must think when she's had an off night! I do hold her to a high vocal standard as well, but I've also had to take a step back and factor in things like age, number of shows, her stress over the last year, and the fact that (as much as it pains me to be the truth) her voice is no longer her child. I firmly believe that if she didn't think she could do it anymore, she wouldn't.

I will add more to this. It's been my experience that people who try to silence others are very insecure individuals. Typically, when they try to shut others up, it is because a nerve of truth has been hit. One they are typically in denial about, and/or don't want to face for whatever reason(s).

 

I'm far from an insecure person, thank you. I'm not trying to shut others up. I'm just trying to figure out why...WHY THE SAME SHÍT ALWAYS HAS TO BE COMPLAINED ABOUT. Find something else to say!!! It's always the same, even when it has nothing to do with the topic at hand. We could be talking about a specific topic, and then all of a sudden, unrelated to anything, there you are complaining about why TYLAM wasn't sung in "A New Day..." or f$&king YouTube audio videos not being available when you own every freakin album she's ever recorded. Yes, you Joe. I'm calling you out because I'm replying to you specifically.

 

Then there are the people who complain about the same myriad of crap...set list, dresses, clothing, playback, why a song written by a certain artist doesn't sound the way they wanted it to...and then complain about it for 7 months after it's release. It's NAUSEATING. And then the same people complaining about all of this, will purchase a ticket to a concert on the other side of the world...and my guess is, they will complain about that too.

Loved the performance and enjoying the love MHWGO is getting. Really wish she would do a carpool karaoke just of MHWGO similar to what Mariah did for All I Want for Christmas Is You, only it would be much, much better.

 

Proud to be a fan and tonight I think Celine made some new ones. 😍😍

Matt, there is nobody more insecure than these members who want to manage Celine's career. When you are not satisfied with the life you lead, you choose to stress too much about the career of your icon, try to manage it, maybe change it, because - in some distorted way - you feel what your icon achieves reflects you.

 

By contrast, you do dot not stick to what could/would/should have been, but accept Celine for who she is, with her good and bad choices. And you always CHOOSE to focus on the qualities which make her great. And this is why so many members like you and value what you have to say! ;)

I read the comments before I watched the performance. I can't believe some people here are saying the whole performance was lipped. Clearly it is not as some of the words she sang weren't clear and she had a tiny stumble in the beginning. It was a beautiful and emotional performance

I dont wanna sound shallow, but she looks so old! I mean, yes she is almost 50 so does Jlo or Gwen Stefani...

she had a tough year and thats takes a toll on you, stress, kids, work, grieving...

but we are so used to see HQ camares and photoshoped photos that it realy strikes me as a surprise, specially consideing how great skin she had.

she always looked older...even in her 20's she looked way older, but tonight? wow, and her hair and make up? aint helping....

Don't worry.. Remember she's open to cosmetic surgery.. She just have to maintain it.. Let's see!

Being filmed in HD does no favors for anyone. It shows every wrinkle, spot, pore, flaw. It will actually make you appear older than you truly do.

MHWGO is actually 19 and a half years old now! Seems like the BMAs rushed to celebrate its 20th anniversary, which is probably due to the fact that Celine stole the show last year. I think they just created an excuse to bring her back. :D I'm now wondering what they will come up with next year. Hopefully, the promotion of the new album will be enough reason! :yes: Edited by LukeD
