RosieBarron Posted May 17, 2025 at 10:50 PM Posted May 17, 2025 at 10:50 PM Unless it was true she was there and pulled out last minute…? Surely they would have had a Celine related back up if that was the case. Quote

Shaun Posted May 17, 2025 at 11:01 PM Posted May 17, 2025 at 11:01 PM Guys, what am I missing here? Celine herself recorded a video message saying she wouldn’t be there. Why, despite what anyone else in the media / show producers may have said, did anyone think she would be there after what Celine herself said? I do find it odd there was basically no reference at all to Celine in the actual Grand Final though. 2 Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.

homerton Posted May 17, 2025 at 11:02 PM Posted May 17, 2025 at 11:02 PM It’s been a con. Not by Celine. However she should have stolen the thunder of the organisation and said I’m not going. They’ve literally led the world along. Truly awful. 4 Quote

It would have made more sense to have the tribute of old Swiss contestants in the semi-finale and the Celine-message and the following Ne partez pas sans moi-tribute in the finale. Actually, I found the Tuesday semi-finale much better than tonight’s show. (Not the acts but everything around it.) Edited May 17, 2025 at 11:06 PM by Remon 3 Quote

stevo Posted May 17, 2025 at 11:06 PM Posted May 17, 2025 at 11:06 PM I’m actually so sad she hasn’t appeared- not upset at her…but sad. That we were obviously led along. I was sure when the actual presenters of the BBC coverage were saying she’d be appearing on the cube in the stadium…like did she pull out last minute? I find that hard to believe, and if she did, that’s very, very worrying. 5 Quote

Kayleycrank Posted May 17, 2025 at 11:08 PM Posted May 17, 2025 at 11:08 PM Let’s not be disappointed with Celine, it’s clear she was never going to be there. The organisers obviously used her name to draw in viewers. Even the commentators thought she’d be there so someone must have planted the seed 1 Quote

rfkavanagh Posted May 17, 2025 at 11:09 PM Posted May 17, 2025 at 11:09 PM Well, it was never confirmed at all, and I don't begrudge promoters from using the hype to promote - that's what they're supposed to do! That said, I did think she'd show up, but I find the whole situation comical - it's just another case of fans reading too much into everything and inventing realities. We all suffer from it on occasion, and it's nothing to get worked up over. I don't get all the wailing and gnashing of teeth. Quote

Well, the John Kats article says she never had plans to be there. “In reality, Dion never had plans to appear at the event. According to sources with direct knowledge of Dion’s day-to-day activities, the former Colosseum at Caesars Palace resident headliner has been in Las Vegas all week and weekend. She’s been tending to routine daily tasks, working out five days a week and singing with plans to eventually return to the stage.[…]Dion remained at her Lake Las Vegas home during the Eurovision event, despite widespread reporting that organizers were awaiting her last-minute arrival. Those officials did nothing to dispel hopes that Dion would show up, which fanned worldwide interest in the event. On Monday, organizers showed a video clip of Dion expressing her affection for the event and host country. Her legions of fans were excited to see her check in. Their hopes were further bolstered when the BBC reported Dion’s private plane had been spotted on the tarmac in Basel. This would be real news, if Dion owned a private plane, which she doesn’t. But we understand she owns a golf cart, which she uses to navigate the links at Lake Las Vegas.“ Edited May 17, 2025 at 11:12 PM by scielle 1 Quote

anewdayhascome Posted May 17, 2025 at 11:13 PM Posted May 17, 2025 at 11:13 PM (edited) She/her management is to blame. They should have denied the rumours of the organizers, share the video on Tuesday on her socials and wish everybody luck saying she won't be there AT ALL. This all media craze and organizers' comments even today have hurt nobody but us. And they should have said something to take care of us, fans. Instead they chose a whatsup stupid channel to post about. I am done. Goodbye.
