Will Céline ever return to Eurovision Song Contest?

To me by sending that video for the semi final she confirmed she was not attending, and I was half expecting them to play it again at the grand final tonight. With regards to the AI music and tour dates, those took days after they circulated before she addressed them- but frankly this was built by media assumption and Eurovisions own creatives refusing to deny her attendance because they knew it would bring publicity. She has not once ever reappeared at Eurovision since her 1989 promotion for Where Does My Heart Beat Now- she didn’t even record a message or anything for the 30th anniversary of her win iirc, and with the message for the semi being recorded so far in advance, that cemented for me that she would not be in attendance. I find a very easy way to not be “mad” at stuff like this is to simply not invest personal energy into something that was never even discussed by her or her team.

What if she never planned to perform at all, but felt like she had to give fans a gift (PMLALS) because of all the Eurovision hype that led to nothing?

Honestly, I find it strange that they presented her video in the semifinal and didn’t even mention her in the final. Céline is a superstar, and I doubt they would do that—it’s like undermining the fact that Céline was interested in appearing, even if it was just in a video.

I do agree it would’ve made more sense for it to be played during the final but, regardless, it WAS played and it was made pretty clear it was her confirmation that she couldn’t / didn’t want to attend.

Agree, doesn't make sense at all. Was going to give up after the interval but a small part of has to keep watching just in case she at least gets a mention!

At this point she could be announcing the jury points front Switzerland or handing the trophy to the winner

It is not the usual running order for Eurovision but if you book Celine you always put her on at the very end so that everyone watches the rest of the show to get to her. If she had been already noone would care about the scores! Also if she is in the stadium that would make sense as the arena will go crazy after the results are announced. Who knows, clutching at straws now.
