Yes, but when the organizers mention she may appear in some capacity, it is speaking mainly to the fans, ordinary people would not care that much as they tune in for the contest itself

I think the root of the problem is that we did not have an official update on her health and upcoming plans in a long time.

 

I would not expect them to say anything about Celine attending the ESC as there is always the risk of last minute cancellation. I agree with their approach not to raise expectations.

 

But still... an update is necessary!

We had over a year of cryptic hints, inflated hype, and not a single official update that clarified what fans could realistically expect. Instead, silence was used as a marketing tool — building anticipation without substance. Now, it turns out the "big moment" is just an old, pre-recorded clip. That’s not just underwhelming — it feels deliberately misleading.

This isn’t about entitlement to her presence. It’s about transparency and honesty. Fans were strung along for months, and what could’ve been a beautiful tribute to Celine’s legacy now feels like a manipulative stunt. The lack of clarity hasn’t just disrespected viewers — it’s diminished the credibility of the organizers too.

It’s long overdue… and if ESC did this deliberately which they may have… Celine’s team should at least come out and say “contrary to what you may have heard, Celine sends her regrets and continues to focus on her health”…. Instead they are letting the media run wild.

And that she will cancel if her health isn't allowing her.

Nobody is being negative on Celine…

 

We all know she’s ill.

We all know she never said she’s attending

We all know she hasn’t performed live in 5 + years

 

But her team, her social media pages, her management and her label ALL suck. And at some point SPS or not Celine should lead her team to run better. We can love Celine and still be critical of her… SPS is terrible but there is so much she could do with one phone call and she doesn’t. Nobody is hard on her if she can’t perform due to her health. My posts have been related to the updates or rather lack of them when Celine claimed as recent as last year to be the an “open book” we can love her and still call BS on that.

This journalist has a very good reputation and is very well informed on Eurovision matters. He would not just randomly tweet stuff.

As for the tweet itself, however, it’s written with a hint of reservation. Though hard to translate exactly, something like: ‘Céline is supposed to have landed in Basel early this morning (…)’ Or: Céline is said to have landed early this morning in Basel (…)’

Surely someone in one of the three airports would have seen her? Yes she probably uses as VIP entrance or has a way of avoiding crowds but not even a single tweet saying ‘saw Celine’s plane’ or ‘fancy car pulled away and we were told it was Celine’. That’s just the airport too, not a single sighting in a hotel either.

 

If they’re keeping it so under wraps then I’m impressed with how hush hush the Eurovision is compared to the Olympics lol Olympics being the bigger event therefore should be more secret?

However, it seems very plausible she’ll contribute to the final in some way. Obviously the appearance and tribute of last Tuesday is not how they will do justice to their last winner, who went on to become one of the biggest stars in music history, and along with ABBA the greatest Eurovision icon they ever produced. I promise you that.
