I must confess that I was hoping that Celine Dion would be the big surprise at the Eurovision final on the 17th May.

After watching her video in today's semi-final, I think there’s no doubt that Celine Dion will not perform at this event.

This is a competition in which people sing live. Celine probably felt that she could not give 100% on stage and did not want to lip-sync…

Let's hope that she’s in fact in the studio and that a new album will be released soon because her voice must go on.

It’s all a mystery. Celine the open book has been closed recently. We’ve had snippets. The documentary told us little real information really. It’s tragic this illness has struck the world’s greatest singer. Let’s hope she’s doing good xx

If Celine will not appear on Saturday, why play the video address now and not save it for the Grand Finals on Saturday? It only means one thing, she will be there Saturday 👍

Well it is extremely weird to play it on the semifinal that is in the middle of the week and that is not necessarily "important". If that's the only tribute to her it should have been saved for the big final that most people watch. Unless there is more...

 

It's definitely better (for us) that it was played today as it doesn't rule out Saturday but if that's all, it's odd

Oh well on to the next time we might see her at the MET gala 2026… to which we won’t see her.. again. Oh well there really isn’t anything we can do , and we can’t make her team have common sense or make them update us, unless they want us to buy something then they’ll reach out. It doesn’t make sense they played the video during the semifinal. Either they still believe she will show up in person during the final or that they are pissed she declined and don’t want to give space in the final (this is the one everyone watches).

* In her video message recorded months ago, she didn’t say she couldn’t/wouldn’t be there and apologise like she’s done in video messages before.

* Celebrity guests appear at the final of Eurovision to perform or to make an appearance, if she was going to be a no show on Saturday night, don’t you think it would have made more sense to then air this video message.

There IS some hope actually.

 

The Greek presenter was directly asked whether he had seen Celine. He said no but then confirmed there would a tribute in the semi-final, another mention of Celine in the second semi-final, and something else in the final which looks like a blank page to the programme at the moment. He even blinked smiling. He said this is all he could share with us right now. He had a big smile on his face throughout his answer and I know he is a massive Celine fan. He would be disappointed if he knew for a fact she would not be coming.

 

Right now I am feeling more than before that she will probably appear.
