Yep. There’s a poker night with Ryan Gosling, Ryan Reynolds, Seth Rogen, me, Céline, Alanis, Justin Bieber, Drake sometimes pops in… [laughs] Can you imagine? I think UK celebrities are similar in that if you’re in a room and you do find each other there’s a little [winks]. But I know Céline and I love her. I was with her on stage recently.

She’s quite eccentric on stage, isn’t she?

She’s so sweet! She went to her crew, ‘Tell me what to do and I’ll execute,’ and I was like, wow, that’s great strength. The first time I ever met her I was 24…

Did you curtsey?

[Laughs] I had no record deal, nothing, and I was brought on as one of the kids and I was introduced to her backstage. I was really nervous and she was so kind and held my hand, and said, ‘Your hand is freezing’ and it pumped me up so much before I went on. It gave me so much confidence. When something like that happens, when people are like that, I remind myself that it’s my responsibility to pass it on."

So I follow all these millennial Quebecois artists on social media - Xavier Dolan, Coeur de pirate, Charlotte Cardin, Safia Nolin, among others - and I love how much they all seem to unequivocally love Celine.

Xavier & Charlotte like and / or comment on almost everything she posts on social media. There's no Celine backlash amongst that generation. They all seem to know Celine opened a lot of doors for them, that she proved it was totally possible to be proudly Quebecois and still OK to do your thing in both languages and be wildly successful on the world stage. These kids clearly saw her as an example and proof that yeah, it's absolutely possible for them to make it, too.

I hope that makes her proud. She truly did bring a lot of Quebec culture to the world.

It would be fun to see Celine collaborate with Todrick Hall and RuPaul. I've loved their past songs together like Low.

Idk, it'd be interesting, Todrick is a very talented singer and songwriter.

Who needs Sony when you have today's popular artists promoting her.

 

Ryan Reynolds, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Twenty One Pilots, BTS, etc.

They've always been Celine stans. They've performed MHWGO covers, bowed to her when she presented that last time at the Grammys, mentioned her in numerous interviews, etc.

Would LOVE for Vogue to do this with Céline.

She needs to give short answers, would be fun to get to know more.

However I don't think they will be able to ask 73 questions in 10 minutes :giggle:

Well, they kind of tried... remember ~2 years ago Vogue did that Q&A with her, asked her which Justin she prefers, etc? And wasn't there another (written) Vogue Q&A she did where she said how much she likes "tiny pretty underwear"... or something like that?
