I don't get it ,the song already was a hit ,got an oscar ,so what are they trying to do ,take another oscar ,it should have been Celine's new song sung in the castle as i was imagining,how are they thinking

They are clearly pushing on the younger artist of the soundtrack, Ariana Grande, to appeal the younger public.

 

Plus, Universal distributes the Disney music label, and Ariana is a Universal artist.

What about a video where celine is looking gorgeous dancing around in a ball gown ,i can imagine that would be wonderful :)

Oh my God Imagine her wearing the blue gown and uses that for the new video, that would be instant classic. It will be epic!! Then she will look like the old belle already along with the beast and all beautiful animated things. Edited by CelineIloilo

my feelings too! It almost feels like they stole the song from Celine and want to make fame with it.

Okay it is a cover and Celine sings covers too. But I don't know, when I see Ariana.. it just feels that way.

Celine should have been asked to make a new cover with the song, with John Legend in a orchestral version, not this over the top one.

And the drums in this version.. as I said before.. sound like midi drums. Constantly the same, dull and lifeless straight from a drumcomputer.

Btw did you guys notice there is quite some autotune in the track too?

I do not like this version, I do not like the voice of Jonh Legend and Ariana Grande, they do not fit and in that horrible ficus version, at least I found it. They are trying to sell the CD with the soundtrack, attract younger audience, as already talked about, plus the version of Celine and Peabo is legendary song and everyone knows, I think Disney will not release Céline's song as a single or to promote The film, maybe if Sony came in and did, but I think it will not happen because the rights are from Disney, I do not know how this works.

 

Shame on them to release this music video and the original video never have an official version.

oh my... way way way better! I don't understand why Ariana and John Legend did not have this backingtrack! This is way way better, orchestral and better drums and feel the emotion too! And the arrangement is clever as well. Love it!

Just lovely as all the Disney songs but that's it.

 

I've never listened to it.

 

And Céline herself doesn't like it a lot. It was recorded right after she "lost" the Fievel's song she liked much more. I think that's what she said in her autobiography or something like that...

And I don't remember which recording sessions (was it for Taking Chances or LMBTL? ) but she was still singing the Fievel's one... lol

She was not singing "Dreams to Dream" in the TC recording sessions. That was "All I Have To Do Is Dream" by The Everly Brothers. I don't remember her saying she didn't like the song BATB. She did say how heartbroken she was that they chose Linda Ronstadt instead for "Dreams to Dream" though. Celine has always praised BATB as a timeless classic and also as the song that catapulted her career.

What the hell is this? I'm sorry if I offend anyone who likes this version, but this version SUCKS! I'm not a hater on Ariana or John, they're both fine artists, (not my style though, lol) but this is garbage.

 

The other thing about this piece of s*** that annoys me is that why did we really need a remake of this song? I mean, are Disney or whomever in f*** in charge happy with this result?

 

I am ready for Beyonce to butcher A Whole New World Now.

I couldn't agree more. It's definitely to reach a young audience, too bad all of them are deprived of true greatness.

It gets me annoyed when I see Ariana's jaw moves when she sings. And her enunciation was so bad.

Well, Céline already recorded Dreams to Dream.. Do you think the song is still there somewhere out there? Curious about how she sounded there.

 

I love Dreams to Dream when i was in grade school. I play this song at night so i can sleep.

Still want to know why Celine's team thought it's ok not to upload the beauty and the beast music video at this time when everyone is craving the song!
