I am seriously disappointed in the Celine store �� I saw they had some new stuff a few months ago from some Celine fans on Facebook and it’s all gone, all just the same stuff they’ve had the past few years and maybe a little less. I know it’s getting close to her last show but I would expect them to have all new stuff for her last show ya know? Even the show program is the same as it was last year at this time! �� I guess I won’t be buying hardly anything from there like I was expecting to

 

I have a friend there now, and this is what she had to say

 

It actually makes sense. They will want to clear out their stuff. They have no use for it after July 8th or after the fans who attend the show on Saturday leave Vegas.

Also if there is a special program for the last night, you will get it at the show.

True but setlist that Rene envisioned with Celine has been nonexistent for years now. Besides the curtain drop, Orchestra and the water show of MHWGO this is a totally brand new show that of what it started as.

Do they still have the curtain drop? I thought it was also removed.

I enjoyed reading that. She is, indeed, getting the last laugh as all of those 90s music critics are long forgotten and Celine is an international icon.

 

I do wish, however, that he would talk more about how she has one of the best voices of all time instead of just belittling her music and praising her personality.

 

Celine Dion, to me, is an untouchable vocalist and that’s what makes me such a huge lifelong fan. Her personality is the cherry on the cake and I’ve ALWAYS loved her for being herself.

wowww what a great article. Who knew that after 27 years some topics are still so relevant! I quote:

 

In March, the Quebec anglophone media noted that the accent on Dion's first name had been dropped from the covers of her two English albums. Said Dion: "What is the difference? It's my name."

 

I guess 25 years later it was a big deal for her, adding the accent to her English career. Makes you wonder if René had decided that.

 

 

In a Toronto radio interview in April, veteran celebrity interviewer Brian Linehan asked Dion if she was planning a movie career. He cited singer Whitney Houston's role in the movie The Bodyguard, currently in production. Said Linehan: "I could see her eyes working, as though she were thinking, 'So, it's possible, it's possible.' "

 

She still has that dream, but it never comes to be

 

 

[After René had to go back to Montréal after his heartattack:]

Dion said: "I feel like a car without an engine. René is the engine of my life and, without him, there are things I simply can't figure out."

 

Looking back even though she didn't say it, you could tell they were in love. I guess Céline still feels like this at times, but she's getting better in finding her own voice.

 

In doing so, both he and Dion have lost a measure of artistic control to Sony Canada, which is spending an estimated $1 million to promote its premier artist in the hope that she will pull the company out of a slump.

 

OH I'd say she did that alright!! That and made some filthy rich!! I guess that's the reason why Sony always treated Céline as a cash cow :glare:

 

 

"On the second album I said, 'Well, I have the choice to be afraid one more time and not be 100 per cent happy, or not be afraid and be part of this album.' This is my album. It's OK to say I feel like doing it my own way."

 

I guess that's why she called it 'Celine Dion', because it really felt like "her" album

 

 

The Quebec singer still encounters some difficulty with English-speaking interviewers and members of the industry. Said Dion: "When people make jokes in English, I laugh because I want to be nice. But sometimes I don't understand everything, or else I really want to say something but it doesn't come out as well as I want." In her native language, Dion is known for her passion, wit and a rollicking sense of humour. Her French material tends to be more substantial, with fewer songs about love and loss.

Last one: When not working, Dion retreats to the house in the Laurentian Mountains that she shares with her parents, a cat named Isis and two white doves.

 

We finally know how her cat was named! :lol:

Looking back even though she didn't say it, you could tell they were in love. I guess Céline still feels like this at times, but she's getting better in finding her own voice.

 

It's quotes like that one you posted that sometimes makes me feel iffy about Celine's relationship with Rene. She was too dependent on him at times, and that's without adding the romantic side of things. Rene was a good guy, and I know they loved each other deeply, but deep down I can't help but question their relationship. Celine was a child and I totally understand her becoming enamored with this man who made all her dreams come true but I feel like he should have known better. Not saying he took advantage of her or ever had anything other than her best interest at heart but like, idk. And then he insists to have full control of her career and she lets him to the point where she has admitted that she just did what she was told most of the time, and I am sure she always had the choice to object to things but seeing how much trust she placed in him I don't think she ever said no (someone correct me if there's proof otherwise, please). I just watched an interview where she said she didn't know how to use an ATM, for crying out loud. That was a 2011/2012 interview, I hope she knows how to do that now. She was way "overprotected."

 

It's no wonder that while she still loves him deeply she says she feels free, that their methods were a bit conservative in the past (meaning she might not have been totally on board with some stuff), that she's discovering herself, feels like a one year old.

 

I'm glad the years have shown that while she thought at times she couldn't continue without him that she was wrong. Even if she's working just to continue the legacy they began (which I don't believe is the only reason), she hasn't just given up on her career and she's even trying to do other things that she enjoys. Her ambition and love of performing is too big to give up.

Not surprising to read that, I think she still struggle to this day. Might be why she doesn't like doing interviews sometimes, or why she'll make a joke in response to some questions. Despite this, she manages to deliver some good answers when it matters most.

 

And maybe I'm too much of an optimistic but I'm still hopeful that she'll get the chance to transition into acting.

 

MJ gave her his black Fedora from Billie Jean. That's cool.

 

It'd be cute if they could find one of those people that watched her perform at her parents piano bar to say a few words about her.

 

But Dion pushed those memories aside. She had a job to do and a record to push. “Maybe I'd feel better if I stopped traffic,” she said with a wicked smile. With that, she stepped into busy 54th Street. A truck braked in front of her. And, for a moment, it seemed that Céline Dion had stopped New York cold.

Celine is simply the only legend left. Jackson Whitney prince are gone. Madonna is hopeless and Mariah is off key. Celine is the worlds greatest singer. A world treasure.

MHWGO from June 4. I'm so glad that she decided to hummed just like the original version. Beautiful! Also, this is like the first time she skipped the humming before the climax. What happened? XD

I would drop the single on the day of the final show.

Perform it live on facebook at the end of the show, just before she says her good byes....

I didn’t know that (or remembered) but she did performed and presented for the first time LMBTL at the end of the outside concert in Quebec city.

I don't think so. They're announced new songs for Hyde Park. Stayed one month before the show. But i can't wait 😊
