Celine (Las Vegas show) [ends: June 8th, 2019] - Official topic

Celine is creative, the thing is she doesn't talk about it, she prefer to talk about her kids. That's different.

 

LTAL cover was her idea (well not that creative but well if you came up with it, Beyonce's last album cover was not more. And that's 20 years later), she designed the outfits for Le Stade de France, TLDH music video was her idea, the bottle shape of her first perfume was her idea...

I guess there's more but we don't know (the curtain in LV as well I think).

 

On top of that, themes of her (french) songs are mostly given by her. As JJG said in his special TV : it's like she wrote the song EUS as I just gathered her ideas.

When it comes to writing, I don't know if it's a lack of self confidence or she's too humble admitting she can't write ( quite the opposite of "Hi I'm Beyonce I don't write my songs but I put my name in the credits )...

 

And honestly, there's quite a few fields I don't want her to get involved as I don't like her tastes 😁😁

I would give anything for Ken to never be affiliated with Celine's Vegas show ever again. His "vision" (if you can call it that) may work somewhat well for a TV show, but he absolutely SUCKS when it comes to a concert that is going to run night after night. Honestly, I get the feeling he only gives a rat's a$$ about her mega hits and covers. I highly doubt he's ever taken the time to actually sit down and listen to her entire discography in both English and French. Going with him was such an easy route which required little to no ingenuity and creativity. Yeah, the holograms were cool and all, but they were being done by other artists way before Celine.

 

When I listened the audio bootleg of the first Vegas show in 2011, I remember I could only think about Ken Ehrlich, blame it like a hundred times and say that he had the same interest in doing that Céline Dion show with that horrendous setlist as a stone has to get wings and fly

 

That day of March 2011, as if Céline's comeback to Vegas wasn't enough disappointment to me, he really put the cherry on the cake with that snoozefest show.

I did like the premiere. Although I did expect a lot more after A New Day. Saw the show 3 times within a week and well not making another trip to Las Vegas to see it.

I will always remember waking up in the morning of March 16th, 2011 and watching all the videos from the premiere. We all went nuts because of ​Where Does My Heart Beat Now, The Reason and Beauty and the Beast being performed. Most of us even thought that the entire show was 100% live!

 

I have to say that the current version of the show is waaay better than the first one.

Exactly. Celine is incredibly creative and has always had more of a say in her career than people might think. She just always liked to give Rene and her team more of the credit and she considered herself the singer/performer. Part of this, too, is because of how humble she is. She can be SO humble that sometimes it belittles how creative and talented she actually is. Whereas other artists boast more and exude a cockiness/confidence.

 

At the end of the day, Celine's untouchable talent speaks for itself. Sometimes I'll listen to some of her most difficult/challenging vocal songs and I am truly mesmerized/reminded of her crazy abilities. To me, Whitney and Celine are the greatest pop vocalists EVER.

 

As the years keep passing, and Celine remains a fixture in the world of music, other artists will continue to see that Celine is indeed an Icon.

I contacted the Celine VIP contact at AXS and got the problem fixed! They never released the VIP ticket blocks! They are now available and I'm now seeing Céline front row center on May 13th :)

I just tried for fun and also got front row. But seriously, $1275 !! S**T that's crazy. Is that really the best price for front row in Las Vegas??

 

And I was feeling sick from my 500 Euro ticket, second row middle in Paris.

No they usually just go for $541 +tax , but not that high, unless its uncluded into a VIP Package that it gets that high, cause I got one back in Aug 2015 when she can back after a yr to take care of RENE, You also Have to save up for that like a yr in advance like I did , that is the key

ahhh ok now that makes me feel better. I was thinking that I'd never be able to see her front row in Las Vegas, like ever.

 

But yeah I always save up for the concerts in advance. Like for my 4 concerts in Paris, it's all saved up for. It was either saving for the summer 2017 tour or jumping on a plane the next day to see her in Montréal in August 2016. I'm glad I waited

 

To be selfish, I hope she wont have a brand new show anytime soon in Las Vegas, because I've maxed out my Céline savings

I'd say front row in Las Vegas is the best because of the pit.

 

But for concerts, I'd say the first 3 rows are the same really, since you can't get close to the stage anyways.

 

Hopefully our time will come for Front Row in Las Vegas

Does a "better" version of "with one more look at you" exist ?

 

I know she sang it for 1 month.

 

I LOVE the premiere version : it's raw, painful, emotional and completely uncontrolled but it's totally understandable. Or how imperfections make something perfect to me...

I' m amazed how she can hold a note with such a hoarse voice without breaking..

And she did it without even rehearsing it and without earpiece.

 

But still I'd like to hear it when she was vocally on a better shape.

I can't believe it's been 6 years since opening night! There were so many amazing moments that opening night!

 

In no particular order... my 5 best moments and memories of the premiere

 

1. Open Arms

WOW for me still the best opening the show has known. The white dress was everything you wanted in a Vegas show. The song itself was gorgeous and the curtain reveal was jaw dropping!

 

2. Where Does My Heart Beat Now

OMG! After 15 years Céline finally added this song to her setlist! I was soooo freaking happy as it's my #1 English song. And all that footage on the screens that came from everywhere! I didn't know where to look. All that footage is an awesome tribute to her (back then) 35 year old career.

 

3. James Bond Medley: "Goldfinger/Nobody Does It Better/Live and Let Die

 

The video montage on the big screen was epic! The moment the chair spinned around and it turned out to be RC was priceless!

 

4. How Do You Keep the Music Playing?" (Duet with a hologram version of Dion)

Again WOW! I loved the concept of Celine duetting with a 70's version of herself. The hologram was exquisite! But of course the fact that Celine walked singing through the crowd was mind blowing. The moment she walked past us just a meter away, looking me straight in the eyes, I will never forget!

 

5 A tie between At Seventeen and Ne me quitte pas. The intimate and vulnerable moment of just Celine and Andre Coutu was a precious part in the show. And NMQP was very very emotional. A true chills moment. It's like René knew what was ahead when he suggested the song. 

 

Bonus: It's All Coming Back to Me Now/The Power of Love medley. This medley was groundbreaking! I think Mego created a great transition between the songs and gave them new life!

Oh my, everything you just said I completely agreed with! I was there the second night and I still think about that moment! Of course it was my first time seeing her in real life but I was on such a high. I had avoided listening to or reading anything about opening night so I could be suprised. I was in tears after open arms and just couldn't believe I was hearing WDMHBN next! One of the best nights of my life for sure.
