Yes she had back problem before. During the 1 an avec Celine special when they showed footage from under the stage, she said she have to move on a chair on wheels because she have back problem. Its at 54min23

 

 

Celine has had chronic back pain due to arthritis in the spine since she was quite young. (per People Magazine, 1999, http://people.com/archive/cover-story-family-matters-vol-51-no-8/) It's probably why she has her own long-time masseuse.

 

But chronic back pain is very different from suddenly throwing your back out. I threw my back out for the first time this summer . .and it is no joke. Like literally not able to bend. At all. In order to get things out of lower shelves in my fridge, I was sliding down the handle. It was insane. Getting in and out of the car was a huge challenge. And mine was not that severe. No idea how she did a show after throwing her back out.

But chronic back pain is very different from suddenly throwing your back out. I threw my back out for the first time this summer . .and it is no joke. Like literally not able to bend. At all. In order to get things out of lower shelves in my fridge, I was sliding down the handle. It was insane. Getting in and out of the car was a huge challenge. And mine was not that severe. No idea how she did a show after throwing her back out.

My mom threw hers partially out and it was horrible. She was on the heating pad and could barely get up out of a chair, much less a bed. From people I know, the corset she’s talking about does help somewhat. It keeps your back straight and tight so it can repair itself. But I’m sure that was a tough feat fitting in those couture dresses with it on!

Laughed my a$$ off when I saw this!! And she has problems selling out shows in Europe. Lots of tickets available and the tour is beginning next week!

 

MC might have been more popular that Céline (according to the newest sales numbers) than Céline in America but Céline rules the rest of the world out of those two.

 

I don't think Mariah was more popular than Celine even in America.

I'm just now getting around to reviewing some of the videos from the 24th/25th and OMG - she sounded INCREDIBLE!!!!! I think because she was injured and couldn't move around as much she really put more concentration her voice as to not disappoint the fans. Every single note out of her mouth was just extra on point it seemed. Even Purple Rain seemed so refreshed. She's just stunning and so inspiring. God bless her - praying for plenty of rest and healing this next month. :wub:

 

She did! It was amazing to watch it all the way through and hear how fantastic she sounded. She sounded that good when I went and saw her back in late September! Blew me away with how amazing she sounded! Probably the best I've heard her sound since I saw her during the TC world tour. Was so proud

Well according to billboard, MC has sold more albums. But ok maybe not THAT much. But ok maybe people were fooled into buying the albums haha, I've bought albums where I only liked one song. (So happy for Spotify!)

I don't think Mariah was more popular than Celine even in America.

 

Her songs were definitely more in demand than Celine's on the radio. Back in the 90s, radios had request phone lines where you would call in and request a song. This gave those songs more airtime and essentially helped them with their airplay for the Hot 100 charts. Mariah I think was definitely more popular in the US than Celine was. The general audience for top 40 radio has always been much larger than Adult Contemporary, where Celine held the reigns for years.

I just consider Celine's continued longevity here in the United States to be superior to Mariahs. In terms of number one songs here in the states, yeah Mariah has always been a singles artist where Celine is more the album seller. No disrespect towards Mariah at all, because like her or not she was a force in the 90s. But in overall success here in the states, and I'm trying not to biased because I prefer Celine lol, I have to place Celine higher, she has massively sold out every concert in Vegas for 15 years now, Mariah hasn't. The FIY, LTAL and TC TOURS all sold out just about every major city in all 50 States and Mariah does have trouble to fill the 4000 seat Colosseum let alone a stadium like MSG. I think in terms of popularity as an entertainer the FULL package here In the states Celine is far superior, but yeah in terms of radio and singles your probably right, even tho that was probably what we are talking about lol.

Oh my god! Isn't that dancer of Céline back in A New Day? The girl wearing black beside her? I remember she's the one flying (floating frame or the swinging in If I Could)

Don’t feel that way. To be honest I had to piece together the melody before I got it. It’s from the end of Think Twice. You can hear her say a variation of think twice, but it’s not clear cut.

It was funny when Celine talked like she was one of us regular sized people for awhile, when she told the audience that everyone probably wishes for a six pack, especially around the holidays. People probably thought she was going to talk about gaining a few extra pounds around the holidays or something, but she followed that up with, "well I have a six pack". OMG. :sofunny: Only Celine can say these things and still be funny.

 

Afterwards, she immediately tried to play it off by saying, "right now my six pack is all back here, this thing's bulletproof". I think we all know what she was trying to do though. LOL. I don't think it's a coincidence that Celine made sure to mention she has a six pack, right after talking about her corset giving her no waist, I think she wanted to remind the audience that she is a fit and sexy woman under that thing. :-D

I think that if Pepe is joining the show, it will be in March since he is having an exhibition in Paris and it opens in the middle of January. He probably has to be there for the opening.

 

And I've got tickets for March 27th.. so yeah I'm hoping! :)
