I'm in love with the song, my mum listened to it and she doesn't understand any French at all and she loved the melody! Made her emotional as she lost her brother in December and he was only in his mid fifties, we thought he had committed suicide but he didn't it was a blood clot.

 

I know people have different tastes but how a Celine fan can not fall in love with this song is beyond me but I respect your view I'm just in shock.

 

I love the simplicity, the whistle and the harmonica, I can imagine listening to the song in the moonlight somewhere peaceful with tree's and a lake and a swinging chair with a campfire lit....I adore the song and can't wait to hear the studio version and the whole album, hope we have more gems on it like La Plus Haute Branche

This is one album I'm not going to be able to sing along to.. everything is too dam heartbreaking. I'm not even sure I can listen to it all that often

What I don't get is why is it so hard to understand that someone might not like the song. It's simple. I remember a demo. I didn't like it and now I remember why... I'm not going to like it only because Celine Dion recorded her version. I admit it has some nice vibe and it's much better than a demo but that's not enough for me. I just don't like this particular style but I definitely can imagine people loving it. And yes, I speak French. It's such a turn off when someone is convincing me why I should love it. Anyway, I might like studio recording. Mixing engineer might have gotten creative so let's wait and see.

OMG she really does do the whistle live! I totally take it back saying it was prerecorded!

I literally cannot understand how ANYONE can not love this song?! I don't even know what the hell she is saying and I'm obsessed.

 

There is feeling. There is simplicity. There are her vocals. There is the harmonica. FOR CHRIST SAKES SHE WHISTLES.

I cant' remember the demo, but i bet that was celine production that put the instrumental solos (the whistle, the harmonica). Just to take our mind out to the repetition of the melody over and over again, maybe the studio version will be less boring. Let's see. I really need snipets this week. Don't know what to expect of this album. Like I said on another post, I miss the Gategno songs.... Encore un soir is awsome (JJG <3) but the rest, i don't know what to expect.

It's one of the finest songs I've ever had the privilege of listening to - I mean seriously, I don't understand a word of French but listening to her performance whilst reading the English translation of the lyrics - GOOSEBUMPS.

 

I said from the very start that this album would go down as one of the finest in her career - 2 songs in, I truly believe we're in for the best French album she's put out since S'il Suffisait D'aimer.

I still don't like this song. The melody is boring. Of course it's better with Celine's voice than the demo we heard during the contest but still... And it sounds so outdated. I'm sure people in Quebec love that kind of song, but I don't. I'm in love with the whistling, though XD

just so you know, that song is not outdated, it is intemporel...outdated is when you take a pop songs three years after, this is not a pop song. It has a folk inspiration though.

calm down. people took one or two posts to say they love a song, nobody claimed it was the best thing Celine ever did. You are at about ten posts and calling people crazy.... Maybe Celine should send you the songs before releasing them. You are the authority .

After the first listens of SA I said that PAMP, Attendre, LMEL, JNPBD and SJNRDT were songs that would follow me. I still listen to them very often, so I was right.

 

Right now I can tell the same thing about EUS and ALPHB which I consider true gems. And as a matter of fact ALPHB has touched me more than EUS.
