Allysadreams Posted August 10, 2016 at 08:14 AM Posted August 10, 2016 at 08:14 AM (edited) I'm in love with the song, my mum listened to it and she doesn't understand any French at all and she loved the melody! Made her emotional as she lost her brother in December and he was only in his mid fifties, we thought he had committed suicide but he didn't it was a blood clot. I know people have different tastes but how a Celine fan can not fall in love with this song is beyond me but I respect your view I'm just in shock. I love the simplicity, the whistle and the harmonica, I can imagine listening to the song in the moonlight somewhere peaceful with tree's and a lake and a swinging chair with a campfire lit....I adore the song and can't wait to hear the studio version and the whole album, hope we have more gems on it like La Plus Haute Branche Edited August 10, 2016 at 08:15 AM by Allysadreams 6 Quote 'Love Doesn't Ask Why, it speaks from the heart.....'
celine4evauk Posted August 10, 2016 at 08:39 AM Posted August 10, 2016 at 08:39 AM This is one album I'm not going to be able to sing along to.. everything is too dam heartbreaking. I'm not even sure I can listen to it all that often Well didn't celine say it's a positive album?? If so I'm sure they'll be songs you can enjoy singing along to! ☺ Quote
BartFCS Posted August 10, 2016 at 08:54 AM Posted August 10, 2016 at 08:54 AM What I don't get is why is it so hard to understand that someone might not like the song. It's simple. I remember a demo. I didn't like it and now I remember why... I'm not going to like it only because Celine Dion recorded her version. I admit it has some nice vibe and it's much better than a demo but that's not enough for me. I just don't like this particular style but I definitely can imagine people loving it. And yes, I speak French. It's such a turn off when someone is convincing me why I should love it. Anyway, I might like studio recording. Mixing engineer might have gotten creative so let's wait and see. Peace & Love 3 Quote
Peppercorn1991 Posted August 10, 2016 at 09:00 AM Posted August 10, 2016 at 09:00 AM The thing is.... Celine sings a lot of different styles.... And they were attracted to her because of a different style.... I for one LOVE the song..... I couldn't stand Le Miracle Kev x 3 Quote
Javito Posted August 10, 2016 at 09:37 AM Posted August 10, 2016 at 09:37 AM OMG she really does do the whistle live! I totally take it back saying it was prerecorded!I literally cannot understand how ANYONE can not love this song?! I don't even know what the hell she is saying and I'm obsessed. There is feeling. There is simplicity. There are her vocals. There is the harmonica. FOR CHRIST SAKES SHE WHISTLES. The whistling is prerecorded :whistling: 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Peace & Love ^THIS.I cant' remember the demo, but i bet that was celine production that put the instrumental solos (the whistle, the harmonica). Just to take our mind out to the repetition of the melody over and over again, maybe the studio version will be less boring. Let's see. I really need snipets this week. Don't know what to expect of this album. Like I said on another post, I miss the Gategno songs.... Encore un soir is awsome (JJG <3) but the rest, i don't know what to expect. 1 Quote
LukeD Posted August 10, 2016 at 03:51 PM Posted August 10, 2016 at 03:51 PM (edited) My opinion is that the song is a masterpiece from a lyrical standpoint and that Celine sounds angelic singing it. And this alone elevates it to a position of not being terrible. Edited August 10, 2016 at 03:52 PM by LukeD 6 Quote
Ororo Munroe Posted August 10, 2016 at 03:56 PM Posted August 10, 2016 at 03:56 PM (edited) What a great and huge repertoire she has !!! That's what makes the difference between her and american singers, she has something more, this thing is FRENCH ! A unique career, something which is not goint to happen again, the one and only legend (except her bad tastes in style with Law ) Edited August 10, 2016 at 03:57 PM by Ororo Munroe Quote
wjd Posted August 10, 2016 at 04:46 PM Posted August 10, 2016 at 04:46 PM It's one of the finest songs I've ever had the privilege of listening to - I mean seriously, I don't understand a word of French but listening to her performance whilst reading the English translation of the lyrics - GOOSEBUMPS. I said from the very start that this album would go down as one of the finest in her career - 2 songs in, I truly believe we're in for the best French album she's put out since S'il Suffisait D'aimer. 5 Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?
A new day... Posted August 10, 2016 at 05:58 PM Posted August 10, 2016 at 05:58 PM I still don't like this song. The melody is boring. Of course it's better with Celine's voice than the demo we heard during the contest but still... And it sounds so outdated. I'm sure people in Quebec love that kind of song, but I don't. I'm in love with the whistling, though XD 1 Quote

It has a folk inspiration though. 8 Quote Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....
dj4celine Posted August 10, 2016 at 06:23 PM Posted August 10, 2016 at 06:23 PM As much as I love the lyrics, I somewhat kind of tilt towards the melody not giving me the effect that I need to fully love this song. Perhaps it is because we are listening to it without having listened to the album version. I don't know what it is and I can't put my finger around it. I will wait until I fully listen to the album version though. Quote

Every song that she releases, crazy people appear saying that it's the best song ever, it's so prety, it's so touching. bla bla bla. I remember saying that Immensité was better than PQTME LOL. Almost 10 years has passed what i think about immensité now? it's ok. Edited August 10, 2016 at 07:12 PM by $P!K& 1 Quote

Lol you should love it? why you especially ? you're making authority on music taste ? Whoever loves music in general likes to listen to other's people opinions... such a pity if you have never changed your mind after reading the passion for a song of somebody else than u. It could make u listen to the song again and find something that you had missed to love it. Quote

LukeD Posted August 11, 2016 at 12:46 AM Posted August 11, 2016 at 12:46 AM (edited) After the first listens of SA I said that PAMP, Attendre, LMEL, JNPBD and SJNRDT were songs that would follow me. I still listen to them very often, so I was right. Right now I can tell the same thing about EUS and ALPHB which I consider true gems. And as a matter of fact ALPHB has touched me more than EUS.
