Why in gods name would they do that?

 

To boost ratings, viewership and promotion. Labels do it all the time for their artists. Not only on YouTube, but they also purchase "likes" on Facebook, buy followers on Twitter, etc. In social media, it tends to be a game of "if it has high numbers, then it's gotta be good!." Unfortunately, this mindset actually cheapens the whole social media experience. I sincerely hope TeamCeline and/or Fallon's team didn't do that with this video.

Of course they didn't..... The video was on every media outlet possible! Have some faith in Celine

I do have faith in Celine. I also know how parts of the entertainment industry work, too.

So you think they would spend money on this video rather than her own music? :o makes no sense at all.... I already know that they do this in the industry but doing it on this is rediculas

The Facebook video had about 8 million views also(i don't know now, what the number is but it may be higher), and like you said it was shared all over the internet. ALL over. Besides, if they were going to spend money on celine, they would be doing other/more things than just paying for views on a video that doesn't do anything for her bottom line. They didn't do it for the audio or lyric video on the vevo that might effect sales and chart positions, but jimmy fallon? sure...cuz that makes sense -.- :-D Edited by tomier

Ouch! For so many views, the majority of comments are pretty hateful :(. Hope she's not reading them. Obviously a lot of haters watching the video.

Yes about her performance and legs but personal attacks on her looks and how she acted.

Ouch! For so many views, the majority of comments are pretty hateful :(. Hope she's not reading them. Obviously a lot of haters watching the video.

Although there were some pretty bad comments (especially in the start) That has mostly been taken over by positive ones, and even many from non celine fans saying that they actually liked her here. I was just reading them and I saw now more than 4-5 bad ones and 2 of them were about jimmy, the other 50-60 were all positive or neutral. I didn't scroll all the way of course, but what I am seeing is a heck of a lot of positive. Plus, if there were so many negative comments it would also reflect more in the likes, but she has 135k positive vs 5k negative. (which means many people didnt like it, but the vast majority did) Don' worry, maybe the comments you read were just arranged so the popular negative comments were shown more at the top.

Hey guys, I am looking to obtain a copy of Celine,s appearance, interview and performance from the Today show on DVD. Can anyone help?

 

I am willing to trade a copy of my own Celine DVD production called "A Fan's Perspective", which is also on DVD. Few people have a copy of this DVD I produced which has; 17 LIVE Performances, (Celine on Jay Leno, Oprah, etc) 150 unique pictures (all the construction photos from Caesars Palace and artist renderings of the new Collesium, Celine with jack hammer etc+++), 2 Interview Segments, 1 Oprah segment with Celine, Team Celine Club only pictures and Special Fan Club song, Opening night of A New Day LIVE (hosted by J. Timberlake) and a rare Christmas audio message from Celine with Chrismas Card Image. All the background music is Celine, of course, and the whole DVD runs 2 hours and 29 minutes. I painstakenly put this entire production together myself in 2004.

 

I will trade one copy of ths DVD with the first person that can send me a copy of the Today show broadcast on DVD, which includes everything from start to finish involving Celine including the interview with Matt Lauer and her entire live performance.

Calm down, it is the internet lol. It's all positive, despite the fact that we can all agree she was a bit too hyper. I guess that Sia impression makes it up for the hyperness. I can't stop listening to Hush little baby *LOVE*.

She makes me think she could be a very good comedian. And generally speaking, I think she has immense acting potential...

Ariana is at like 65,000,000 or some insane number.

 

Ariana is of the internet/youtube generation.

 

Celine's day was in the 90s. And what a time that was! Breaking records.

 

It's fantastic that Celine is still around and is being revered (finally!) as an Icon.

 

Celine can't compete with sex appeal/teenagers/etc. so she'll never get those kinds of views -- even though we all know Celine is and always has been the most talented singer out there! (Along with Whitney.)
