So it get all dressed up, choose a designer to wear, do hair/ makeup, attend fashions biggest night and opt not to be seen? Yeah zero chance of that. She simply didn’t attend, for whatever reason.

Well, in the case of the Met Gala, that would be like going to a wedding and skipping the vows…

 

And no, of course she hasn’t done any kind of red carpet appearance since her diagnosis, which is precisely why this was so anticipated, given her recent reemergence in the public eye. She’s the Vogue France cover girl for the month, after all. (It’s of course likely that she can’t, that all the flash photography and chaos would be triggering, but her recent outings and photoshoots suggest she could handle it…)

I’m choosing to believe that she either had no intention of going or she decided against going for a different reason. She’s been visible lately and seems to be doing really well. The last time she was quiet we all assumed the worst and look how that turned out. I refuse to put her absence from one event (which was never confirmed) down to poor health. I’m aware that it could be exactly that but I’m thinking it’s not.

We have a strange convergence of two, perhaps three factors.

 

Céline's absence from the Met Gala, in spite of all previous indications, is no surprise. We know that her illness is non-linear, and that's probably why all her public appearances, since the Grammy Gala, have been deliberately unannounced. This time, for the first time, her presence was expected, and she just might have had a worse day. This is no reason to be dramatic; it's simply the nature of the disease. Sometimes I get the impression that people take her activity and good form as evidence of "gradual recovery." - but no, as long as there is no clinical remission (and according to her own words, there is no question of remission for the time being), the struggle continues and bad days will happen from time to time.

 

"Apparently she didn't want to", especially in the context of Vogue, somehow doesn't seem convincing. Of course, she could also have contracted the flu from Rihanna

 

Second, Law's comment on May 3, "Thinking of the Queen today....," may not have had any specific reason, but it may also have had one.

 

But the strangest thing about all this is the removal of material from Instagram, especially its random and inconsistent nature. If only certain videos are removed, only from one platform, and it's hard to see according to what key - it doesn't look like any conscious marketing strategy. It sooner looks like the reign of children, the madness of a monkey with a razor, or a split inside TC and a mental crisis of a member of the team (just kidding, but with a little concern).

 

I hope the convergence of these three factors in time is purely coincidental.

I agree with all of this.

 

At first, it seemed the only common factor connecting these deleted (or hidden) posts was that many of them were “personal” - i.e. not related to her career - but we also notice many missing posts that are. How cryptic!

 

With how little her team engages with her socials, this could not be completely random as, say you or I, logging into our own accounts and deciding, “This is no longer relevant,” or, “I don’t like this picture anymore” because of the association to another memory. We know her socials are managed by a third party, so any actions would be deliberate orders from someone higher up.

I thought the met gala would be too much. The shouting lights cameras as you go in. It would be overwhelming and could trigger something. Too much just yet. Yes she goes to sports events but that is not focused on her. Although we all love to see her.

The strope lighting at the Grammys, the crowd noise, plus more or less the same at the hockey matches she’s attended this year with the loud music, not to mention the flashes from her recent vogue photoshoot… it’s just weird that she never rocked up, but either she changed her mind or had good reason….

 

She don’t owe us anything but at the same time it would have been amazing to see her in her element after seeing how much she enjoyed the previous two.

We are disappointed she never attended the Met, but that’s done now.

 

We have the documentary coming next and who knows what after that but there’s now something to look forward to next month that’s 100% guaranteed.

 

What after that, no one knows for sure just yet… but look how happy she’s been in recent appearances and the huge amount of love she’s received back.

 

I’d rather a little of Céline than no Céline like we have had over recent years.

 

She’s a force to be reckoned with and we are now on her terms whatever happens

Well we re all a bit responsible of our own deception.

 

We basically went from it s over she will never come back to basically learning almost nothing from the Vogue interview to seeing her a bit going out to the public eye to…..

 

She s gonna be back with a new residency, will show up at MET and will sing this summer in Paris for the Olympic.

We created all that somehow. And we will do it again.

Assumptions were right.. Celine presented at Grammys to show the world she wasn’t bedridden or unable to walk. It was damage control.
