Assumptions were right.. Celine presented at Grammys to show the world she wasn't bedridden or unable to walk. It was damage control.

 

And he mentions that she wanted to show she's ready to be back on stage?

Her 2024 Grammy outfit is so iconic! Really well-made and suited her great. I particularly liked the coat. One of her best looks ever. Edited by LukeD

It definitely felt like the Vogue momentum and everything else pointed to a big triumphant return at the Met…

 

Or perhaps it points to the Olympics. She may have signed an exclusive agreement to make her phat comeback at the Olympics and nowhere else. We are still waiting. :clap:

Now now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves and set the community up for disappointment like we saw this past Monday…

 

But I do get why she didn’t show to the Met. It’s a party, and would have been her first such outing in years. She’d have spent the evening answering the “how are you doing” questions all night from a bunch of strangers. Famous ones, sure, but strangers nonetheless. And that seems daunting, especially considering who attends that event. By definition, it’s a lot of people with massive egos and overwhelming concern for their own image. It’s an event that’s all about being seen. In an environment like that there’s probably little space for genuine connection and humanity. Seems overwhelming. So she may not have wanted to deal with all that and prefers the doc to do the talking in answering the “how are you” question.

So now that she was a no-show at the Met Gala, what do we think the chances are of her showing up at Paris Fashion Week in June?

Given complete absence of the doc from the spring/ summer festival circuit, this could be some alternate promo.

Possible. I’m wondering she’ll do the interview circuit beforehand.

I think that's the easy way out promo without having to do any interviews.

And at this stage I think they will go for that.

Worst case it will just be a instagram post.

Nope, and if I'm correct it's no longer happening.

The sponsor/organizer backed out of it.

But that's something I quickly saw on some fanaccount on X.

Yeah, I caught that as well on the FB fan group. I think it was a fragment of Tout le Monde en Parle, same guy who initially announced it. Wouldn’t say who the sponsor was, just that they pulled out.

Feels more likely than the Olympics to me. But who knows. The fact that we're even in a position to consider these possibilities again makes me so happy 😊

It would be perfect! But like others said, not a big deal if it doesn’t materialize. Hopefully, there are more exciting things on the horizon. :)

Yeah that’s true. To be honest, I’m not that concerned about the commercial success of this documentary, or the critical reception for that matter. I just want to see behind the scenes footage of Céline’s life. :shrug:

 

And of course any answers we get from the documentary to questions that we, as fans, have.

At first I was sure she would attend.

Especially since there was supposed to be a exhibition which I assumed would be around the same time as fashion week.

 

But now I'm not sure. Though there must be some French promo for the documentary coming right?

It feels very quiet, but who knows what they have in store.

When they contacted fanpages I was getting my hopes up but it feels very quiet now.

I agree. It's was a slight shame that Taylor was wearing a nearly identical dress.

 

p.s. I wonder how much money Celine has saved on fashion/shoes over the last few years since she wasn't really going out in public
