Céline Dion: Summer Tour 2016 - Official Topic

Just finished skimming through this topic. I swear there are more complaints about her outfit than conversation about the actual concert. Anyway, I haven't gotten to watch too many videos or listen to much because I just wanted to get caught up on the topic, but I have to say that Scott did a PHENOMENAL job with the arrangement for PQTME. Absolutely breathtaking!!

I think PQTME deserves to be second last song and MHWGO should move towards the beginning where PQTME currently is.

Hello guys!!

This show was so great! She was more into it! Few enthusiastic high kicks in the air haha,

The end was very emotional, crowd sang along SSDA and she let us sing more parts than yesterday, big standing ovation!

I recorded a few videos, will upload them ASAP.

Here are a few pics.

And a video of Vole. Sorry for shaking rushed to the front. And sorry for that lady singing along haha

Dont know why image is weird, hopefully not when loaded on YT

*talked to Scott, he is happy to hear we like the show and the arrangements.

Celine herself chose the songs because they mean so much to her, and the emotion.

He would love to play songs like "WAAF,DKL,Breakaway"

They rehearsed, or just played DKL together. (Didn't understand what he mean)

He loves this tour, the energy and Celine. Told she isnt performing, but feeling the music.

He did not say he didn't liked Vegas, but he thought this is way better.

And guys save money, because they have plans for a english tour next year.

He knew and named few cities where Celine is BIG, dont know how he knows that!!

Also they planning to give us something different and something better everytime!

Celine loves Unison and loves to dance on that song...

So I told him to replace RDMH haha, he laughed and said that song is crazy, people go crazy, and he can go crazy musically haha

And now I think of it... should have asked him if he knows there will be a dvd :(

Probably not because of Vegas but does this English tour include US cities? I sure hope so but won't get my hopes up.

And I loved how, in the last chorus of Et Je t'aime Encore, the back up singers are hummming behind her. That's new. BTW, Tim, if you're out there, or if anyone can put that sendspace link to Dropbox or WeTransfer, seriously having a problem over here because no matter how hard I try, I simply cannot get Tim's revised audio to download. A tiny little bit of help would be soooooooooo nice if it's convenient for anyone...
L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! L'amour existe encore pour elle! :)

She signed a contract with Caesars Palace that' states Celine can't perform a full concert in any other venue in the United States. I wish she could I love for a mini US tour.

Thanks so much for all this info!! Yes I wish you had asked him about a dvd too for this show and Vegas  hope someone eventually does!! But omg so excited to hear she's gonna tour next year for the english album. Keeping my fingers crossed for Vancouver. Wait I thought because of the residency she can't do an english tour....maybe I'm messing it up with another artist's contract in vegas either way I don't care I'm just excited!!

I think MHWGO is closer to her heart right now. For all the 10 trillion times she's sung that song in the past, it seems that the words actually express pretty closely what she's going through right now. She's sung it with incredible emotion since last August. "You're here/there's nothing I fear/And I know that my heart will go on" -- isn't that basically the message of what she's said in all the interviews recently when talking about Rene?

I think one of my fave live performances of MHWGO was on August 27th so much power and emotion that night. Haven't heard her do it with quite so much power since.

I DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START

ok so I don't come here often. I'm pretty young so most of the songs Celine sang came out before I was born (lol)

I will be seeing her in Montreal this summer and I have to admit I am much more excited for this show than I was for the TC world tour.

1 - HER VOICE THOUGH. I was so worried to hear her sing in Vegas recently because her voice cracked a lot all the time. But in that show I believe she did not use play back at all? And her voice is simply amazing like you guys have mentioned before. She sounds so good, I can't even tell how happy and relieved I am.

2 - I have to admit I was in shock when I saw she didn't do a single outfit change but I could not care less. I really feel like Celine is having a good time and is doing this mini tour for HERSELF. No outfit changes, songs she picked .... I think Rene had a lot to say when it came down to concerts and I feel like now she does what she wants and is really doing this for herself after the year she's been through

3 - CAN I JUST SAY HOW SHE SLAYS JE CROIS TOI AND ORDINAIRE ? SHE IS GIVING ME CHILLS

I LOVE HER

and cannot wait for the concert I will be seeing.

And i LOVE the outfit too! Its perfect for that show. Its very casual. She cant dress like a diva (vegas) for a sober show like this! And its MUCH better than the ugly tight outfit from live à Paris!

"When times were uncertain, when destiny worried me,

René always said: it'll be fine.

And with him it was all always fine.

Because he loved me.

As long as I had his love, I had it all.

And it will all be fine still,

Because his love is always there. In me. In our kids.

In all the things he has always loved.

In my voice, in my work.

This show, like the other ones,

I'll do it with you, René.

In the past, I was under the light and you were in the shadow.

Now, I'm under the light and the light is YOU"

RTL interview is now here: http://www.rtl.fr/cu...s-la-7783757134

And another great one: http://www.europe1.f...-heures-2778061

En anglais, on dit toujours 'the best is yet to come' (le meilleur reste à venir).

Can someone translate this plz??? And thank you

Wow, what an absolutely outstanding set list! I was in absolute SHOCK when I saw the comments start pouring in here. I didn't believe in a million years she'd be adding a crap ton of new songs, and never would have guessed some of the actual songs she chose, not in 10 lifetimes. This tour so far has been one of the most fantastic surprises since I became a fan back in 2001. Her voice is amazing! Like a lot of people, I've been worried since she came back after Rene's death. Not because I thought for a second she'd lost her voice by any means, but that maybe it was still too soon and her life needed to calm down before she got back touring, but it's as good as it's been since 2002 I think. I think I'm in the minority, but I really like the outfit she wore, and LOVE that she didn't change into her usual gowns several times. She really focused on the music and the voice, and costume changes are nice, but not necessary in my eyes.

- The acapella intro of Trois Heures Vingt is GORGEOUS! I die a little inside when I hear it, her voice is so wonderful, and it's amazing to hear her sing one of her really old songs with her adult voice.

- Encore Un Soir sounds absolutely awesome live! She sings it perfectly, though it's a bit slow for an opener, but I like that it wasn't her usual opener.

- I hadn't listened to Je Crois Toi until just now because I thought it was the shortened version she's been singing to do a costume change, but it's actually the entire song! What a treat! She sounds flawless singing it after all these years.

- Et Je T'aime Encore - one of my all time favorite songs and the only really clear version we have live was the telethon back when AND had just started, and we all know how bad her voice was at that time. She sounded so good singing it this time, it just melts me! What a pleasure to hear!

- Ordinaire - I was a little perplexed when I first listened, but after a couple tries, holy crap what an epic song! I love it! The orchestra is amazing and her vocals were awesome! She has a few really good belts, I love it! Can't wait for the studio version! It might be the most epic sounding song she's done since IACBTMN.

- Ziggy - I normally loathe this song, but the new arrangement with the piano and strings make it sound really good! I was actually floored that I loved it!

- Le Vol D'un Ange - KILL ME! I cannot believe she chose this one! Another one of my favs and never thought she'd go near it live, it's just so obscure, but she sings it flawlessly, it's absolute perfection!

- Medley Acoustique - KILL ME AGAIN! Jaw was on the floor, no way was she singing this many songs from 1F4T! As a medley the songs don't flow all that well, but at least we get to hear them. What a strange idea to stick Tous Les Secrets in the middle though, Mon Homme would have been better and stuck with the 1F4T theme she kinda created. Not that I don't love TLS, but just a strange choice. Thankful, nonetheless! It would be awesome of them to create an acoustic medley from each French album to do during the tour or something.

- Tous Les Blues... - I had to be medically resuscitated after the last two songs, only to be killed again with this one! By far, one of my favorite Celine songs and have dreamed FOREVER to hear her sing it live and she didn't disappoint, it was PHENOMENAL! It made my every dream come true, couldn't have imagined it better.

- Naziland - Absolutely STRANGE intro, but I loved it! Maybe because it was so odd and unique, they really came up with a different arrangement, nobody would have guessed it would turn out that way. I loved it and appreciate how strange and unusual it is!

Overall, I'm a really freaking happy camper right now. She really killed it this time, I couldn't be any happier about the way it turned out and the decisions she made in regards to the song choices. After being a Celine fanatic so many years, it's hard to be surprised by anything she does, but after all this time she has shown she still has a lot of passion in her and some serious aces up her sleeve. Her singing is fantastic, she really seemed into it. It may change after a bunch of shows, it usually does, but I'll for sure savor this feeling.

Also a HUUUUUUUUGE thank you to everyone who attended and recorded for us!! We are so freaking lucky to be in this age where you can see and hear concerts that take place across the world, and that there are people willing to share with us! We are so lucky!

Back in 2013 , she just spoke once in Antwerp.

Gosh... yesterday she was much more talkative!

I can't believe Annie's tweet!

I've never liked her and her job, no matter what all those fashion junkies say.

It's so bitc** from her. Just like she was saying " guys , don't blame it on me if what she wore was awful".

She didn't have to intervene because :

1. Beside some folks here, nobody gives a s*** if she worked with Céline or not

2. We all noticed it was not her choice : it was not a leather jacket or some kind of glittery old dress.

While I don't like that much her outfit of yesterday, at least nobody got paid for a job which would have been horrible anyway.

Ya I didnt like Annies tweet either ...... :hmm:

I'm just amazed we are getting so many things on social media, for instance I was completely shocked that Trois heures vingt was actually her singing I just thought it was prerecorded and the show opened but to see this back stage stuff, things that us super fans love it's a nice gesture to us. I may be in the minority but PQTME is in the right spot for me it got overused through the first Vegas run and along with the TC tour so having a break from it has been nice plus it is a actual change it isn't following the normal set list we always expect. And the prerecorded is very little if any I don't know if she's actually really worked on how she handles herself when she lips but in the videos Power of Love almost feels like it's live to me. The best thing is the news that Celine did this show on her own mainly with the set list, to me that shows leaps and bounds she's taking charge and I imagine Rene is laughing that laugh of his at how well she is truly doing.

FINALLY someone asks the REAL questions when talking to someone who works alongside Celine! THANK YOU!

I'm very relieved and happy to hear Celine herself chose the songs for this tour. The fact she remembered songs like "Tous les secrets," "Le vol d'un ange" and "Tous les blues sont ecrits pour toi" is fantastic! I wonder if she has any other surprises in store for us later!

I'm also happy to hear the band has been rehearsing "Breakaway." While I would prefer to see "Somebody Loves Somebody," "Thank You" or "Unfinished Songs" added from the "Loved Me Back To Life" album, I'm also not going to whine and moan. It's a Celine original with power and gusto. I hope this is officially added when she returns in September!

"Didn't Know Love" is an absolutely beautiful ballad from "Loved Me Back To Life." It would fit in so well with the vibe of "Celine."

Regarding her English material, I think we now have our answer about how Celine views her English career. It seems to be more of just a job for her, whereas the French side is where she does what moves her. So, I guess the English side is the job she works to pay the bills, while the French side is her passion side where she really shows who she is. That's too bad. Hopefully this will change. I have faith Scott and/or Aldo will be able to help convince her there are some really amazing gems to her English discography which weren't hits and/or singles.

In regards to this "forum" Scott speaks of, he must not be aware the forum on her site was shut down months ago. People are unable to leave comments or interact in any way, shape, or form at CelineDion.com. So, with that said, if people want certain songs performed, I implore you all to message them on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram! Also, I'm going to take this a step farther and encourage people to write them LETTERS at Caesars Palace with your requests, wishes and thoughts. Now that Scott has said they welcome it, there is no reason to not talk about it from here on out. I will be writing a letter myself in the near future.

Thanks again, "Celine Fan 77," for this information and for being the one to FINALLY get some real answers from people connected to the shows!

It was a pleasure for me to ask them and they were all happy to answer my questions ^_^, by the way he told me about the official forum when I asked him and Denis Savage if they have considered to include Then You Look At Me on the show since it's one of the biggest fan favorites ever. Scott seemed a bit lost and wasn't sure of knowing that one, but Denis said it's and old one from 1999 and then Scott told me that we should leave our comments on the official forum.

Indeed it's a shame he's not aware that such forum does no longer exist, but it's a bigger shame that I didn't know that to ask him for another way of expressing our thoughts lol.

I also told them about this forum, but Scott said they used to read the official one only. I wonder if they closed the other one after seeing how huge this Forum is :giggle:
