I'm back at the show tonight and can't wait to see it again. The acoustic medley, Immortality, The Show Must Go On and My Heart Will Go On among those I can't wait to see again.

I loved her hair during 1992. It was some of her sexiest looks. Just think of LCMM on Arsenio.... I wish we had HD of that because she was most gorgeous there.

I so agree! I mean... That volume! Could have easy been a spokeperson for Pantene at that time lol!!

Enjoy the show, Shaun! I'm so jealous of everybody still in Vegas who are able to enjoy a few more shows. But then, I'm just grateful I was able to attend opening night. Possibly the most significant show I've ever seen. Unfortunately I had to be back in the UK as I'm a teacher and school starts this week. As such, I couldn't stay any longer. Having said that, on Friday morning, I was all prepared to quit my job and stay in Vegas for the next few months :-D

By the way, I have a full audio recording of opening night but I have no idea how to post it here. I havent heard the others yet but if they are similar quality there's little point me uploading. However, the one I have is very clear and even had me in tears again on the flight home! So, if anyone can advise I will try to upload in the next day or two. Failing that, I will make a YouTube video and post here :-)

It seems like "My Heart Will Go On" is going to be live from now on! I know a few people think it's an odd song for Celine, but I can't get "Kiss" out of my head. It's so catchy!

I love the "there's nooothing I fear" in the opening-night show, with the emphasis on "I fear"! Just mindblowing. I wish they would release this night on a CD

LOL what happened with I SURRENDER is a proof that the 2 long notes are playback.. I think the playback simply didn't start for a mistake so she stood quiet!

Definitely not. I could mean she wasn't ready for the notes and decided not to do them. It would be very difficult to match lip syncing with such performance. She did one part but not all as strong and high, and the next she avoided. Why do you crave for it to be playback?

Incredible is not my favourite song, I must admit. I quite like it on CD in the car but as part of a live show, I think it's a bit flat.

I've been thinking a lot about the set list. I've scanned a few posts and obviously everyone has their opinion. It seems most people are happy with the changes, others not. I'll admit that there are other songs I would have loved to hear live on Thursday but the most refreshing part about opening night for me was the not knowing - we knew there would be changes but I for one had no idea what to expect. I'm so pleased the curtain drop and singing in the audience elements were kept and I'm really happy with so many of the song choices that I just can't complain. The problem with the technology we have is that there is no place for surprises - and a lot of opportunity for excess scrutiny. With so many bootlegs and recordings, we go to shows knowing what to expect. And whilst it doesn't ALWAYS detract from the experience sometimes it leads to disappointment. For example, you might want or expect a song but it's dropped before you get to the show. The worst part for me is learning that songs are lipped - I know she lips and I know what songs she lips but here have been times (during TC for example) when I was convinced certain songs were live only for some fans to analyse every note in the different bootlegs to prove otherwise. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, I think!

Anyway, we do have a lot of technology and there are many advantages - fans who aren't able to attend are given he chance to experience different shows etc. I've benefited from it too. And I've even made a bootleg and if it means other fans can enjoy it then I'm happy. I do feel the extra technology has put pressure on stars to up their game and perform live more. I think Celine and her people are aware of criticisms and are responding accordingly. I mean, even some of the song choices I feel have been influenced by comments in this forum!

I can't really criticise anything I saw on Thursday but I do want t share some thoughts on the set list - but that'll be for a future post :-P

I agree with everyone who loved Celine's hair in 1992. My hair is curly and I loved the curly dark hair on her. "Celine Dion" is my favorite of her albums because all of the ballads really speak to me (though I love other albums also). I wish she would do "If I Were You" live, but I have never found a live version on the net.

Does anyone know if she ever sang that in concert?

If this were the case, and she were lip syncing, then the track with the high notes would have kept playing...and they didn't. I'm confused as to why you are the only one 100% convinced that it was playback..

I don't know that he craves for it to be playback. It's probably honest confusion. Being honest, celine is very consistent with her playbacks. What we have seen in two shows with three of her playback songs is VERY unusual. I think the only time she has ever taken a playback song and sang it live in a show was the last line of wdmhbn. No other song has been live in show after she starts lipping it. I honestly felt thursday I surrender was lipped, just as it was in AND. It wasn't even a question about it, it was just obvious. Maybe the positive reaction to the fans about Mhwgo on Thursday prompted them to try I surrender live on Saturday. Who knows? Im eager to see what she does tonight with abm and I surrender.

I understand completely. But, with those note from Thursday, if they were going to lip them, they would've been alot stonger than what was performed. She broke and wavered on those notes. Prerecorded vocals would not have this issue, see WDMHBN, TPOL and IACBTMN.

Totally agree. Would have loved Celine to invite Andrea Boccelli on stage for The Prayer... At one point, as she discussed duets, I half expected her to introduce a special guest! :-)

The first run in the song is still quite difficult and she nailed it on the second night though (and it was different from the first night). And did you hear the F#5 on Incredible? I don't think her voice was necessarily weaker the second night, it just took a bit of time for her to get warmed up it seems.

From what I'm hearing and seeing, the pre-recorded track are becoming more and more advanced. Different ones, different newly record small parts sometimes mixed up to give different outcomes, but not too much not to confuse Celine.

I'm with mike_z on the playback of I Surrender. One note did not come at some point, and she gave some look back to see what's happening. But she handled it very well: she's no Mariah when it comes to playback.

This being said, the concert is just awesome. And to be honest, I don't mind the playback here. One cannot expect her to sing the ABM note every night, and she's singing good live too. It's so great to see her back!!

If you're referring to me just say so. First of all, it is fine for her to playback, but when it's no proof what so ever that she is, and just speculation, I definitely will defend her. She sang it fully live the 29th, why would she lip the 27th? She's never sang a song live and lipped small sections like you're trying to make it. ABM is the only exception,and even that has some timing on it. I surrender is just cutting it to close in my eyes. Unless she says she lipped it opening night, it's still LIVE. :giggle: :bye:
