She didnt do the high notes in I Surrender just because she didnt want to do it. Not because that part is actually Playback that didnt kick in. Celine knew that her voice is not that ready tonight to belt that high note at the opening of the show, so she didnt want to take the risk to do the high note in that circumstances that may hurt her vocal chord. That's why, I Surrender should be sang maybe in the middle of the show because her vocal chord has been warmed up from the beginning of the show and ready to belt the high note. When I Surrender is the first to sing, her vocal chord is kind of shock eventhough she had done her rehearsal and warm up before the show. ~ Luki Edited August 30, 2015 at 11:50 AM by Luki Dion 1 I LOVE TO SING...BUT I LOVE TO TALK TOO....!!

Kev xThis happened to our Malaysian No 1 Singer. She sang I Surrender and she lost the cue for that high note, and she went flat and lost. I Surrender is truly the hardest song to sing after TPOL that it needs a very powerful belting for each phrase. ~ Luki I LOVE TO SING...BUT I LOVE TO TALK TOO....!!

I'm afraid that the alternative for this is to record the playback for that high note. Like she used to do for Ammore Annascunnuto which she used to sing it Live but then, it is hard to sing, then she prerecorded it. Thats happened with ABM. Now she used that playback again because the premier night, she tried to hit it Live but it was hard. I really hope they change the order for I Surrender. They can put Show must go on as the opening. ~ Luki I LOVE TO SING...BUT I LOVE TO TALK TOO....!!
Tyler1991 Posted August 30, 2015 at 12:34 PM Posted August 30, 2015 at 12:34 PM (edited) I don't mind I Surrender as the opening. It's weird, strange, but at least it's something different. At least it is a Celine song. Not to mention, if it wasn't the first song, she'd probably remove a verse, they'd come up with some butchered 3 minute arrangement like most of her originals and she'd be less inclined to sing it live after already doing 18 songs. Even if she would, vocally I think it wouldn't be as good as it would at the beginning of the show when she is feeling fresh. I LOVE it's placement at the front. To be honest, the end of the show is more interesting for me. The first half is not as exciting. This is something that is a highlight in the first half. I thought to myself if I start talking I wouldn't stop til it turned ugly lol (she had a drink or maybe 2 or more in her, it was a little obvious.... so probably would have been combative against me, just the vibe I got from her) and in that case the bootleg would certainly be even more ruined because I'd certainly make sure I'd get the last word in. lol 5

zuv Posted August 30, 2015 at 01:28 PM Posted August 30, 2015 at 01:28 PM YES. the I surrender parts she choose to not sing are very noticeable. But those are high notes and later parts of the song. looks like she was caught unprepared for it. well it happens to vocalists you know. Immortality indeed seemed on a different part. she seemed tired on the 29th although she rocked still. im still listening to it, and I realized how tiring this could be for her voice. Indeed celine has the right to lip some song songs to make sure the audience are satisfied at a certain point, imagine going to vegas and saving up for it and you get a very bad vocal when she can't reach those notes. it would be disaster, at least we know she sing every night at a certain point and she still sound amazing.Been saying that for years. I would find that ridiculous if she sang the entire show live at every Vegas concert. Her voice needs to rest. She needs to take care of that voice for when she goes in recording studios or goes into live TV performances.A vegas concert is so insignificant, she sould lip synch at least 50% of it. 2
WendyB Posted August 30, 2015 at 01:28 PM Posted August 30, 2015 at 01:28 PM (edited) Thanks for the second recording After listening to the first one, I'm getting the feeling that the chosen songs may be Rene's favourites, which is hardly surprising. Wish there could have been at least one more French song included, and also a couple of more recent songs. Not keen on Incredible. Edited August 30, 2015 at 01:38 PM by WendyB

I don't think a Vegas concert is insignificant it's pretty much the majority of everything she's doing. Considering every time she's done a run, it's for a several years with little to no touring of other parts of the World (admittedly there has been more non Vegas appearances with Celine compared to A New Day). People are travelling a long way and paying a lot of money to hear her perform live. I never minded her lip-syncing, because she'd proven time and time again she can cut it live and unless you were an avid fan you could barely tell anyway... the way she blended live and pre-recorded seamlessly from verse to chorus or line to line was a talent in it's own right!! But I'm absolutely loving this 100% live Celine Dion, faults and everything. I Surrender is probably my all time favourite Celine track, and that note is always epic, but I didn't mind it being missed because the rest was just so amazing to hear live. It somehow feels more real, more emotional. I think she's doing it because Rene loves to hear her actually sing. Either way, its also great to have a show thats now predominantly live! Popular Post couldawouldashoulda Posted August 30, 2015 at 01:36 PM Popular Post Posted August 30, 2015 at 01:36 PM I would MUCH prefer to hear a singer do exactly what Celine did in the 2nd show's I Surrender. Sing it live and sing what you can...that night...in the moment. Her riffs are so much more interesting to me when they are organic and just coming out of how she is feeling rather than hearing her lip part or all of the song. I could not care LESS if she hits the high notes. I don't go to hear high notes. I go to hear her sing her emotions that night - whatever notes those happen to be. That's why I love going to a Kelly Clarkson concert. She doesn't lip-synch; she just doesn't always sing the big notes that are recorded on the album. And that's fine. She does something just as interesting live. The reason Celine feels she has to lip-synch is because some people complain that "it doesn't sound like it does on the recording" or "well, she didn't hit the high note. That's SO disappointing." I just don't understand that point of view. 9

Not try and sound like her albums every night, every song. I do think something will change on IS though. Either a prerecord on certain notes or maybe it'll get moved to later on (in first half if decision was mine) or even dropped (hopefully not though). I think she needs an easier song to open with so her voice can warm up. I would say TSMGO but that's the same as IS especially the ending. Wonder whether anything will change during this run or maybe they'll leave it until the next set of dates. 2

chy2j Posted August 30, 2015 at 02:43 PM Posted August 30, 2015 at 02:43 PM Thanks a lot for all the bootlegs videos and comment
Popular Post tonybower Posted August 30, 2015 at 02:50 PM Popular Post Posted August 30, 2015 at 02:50 PM I was fortunate enough to attend the opening night and I have to say it was one of the best experiences of my life. Céline looked stunning and sounded incredible, as you've all no doubt heard by now. Her strength and poise were inspirational. I have seen Céline 12 times in total now and in the past I have usually been so mesmerised by her presence that I have never got emotional. That was not the case on Thursday. I had tears in my eyes a few times and during TFTEISYF I couldn't contain them. Celine's emotions were raw throughout and I heard every song as if for the first time. We know changes were made and my guessing is that the new songs were added for specific reasons. This is especially true of TFTEISYF, ATW and SOTR. Not to mention TSMGO. TFTEISYF has to be the perfect substitute for Lullaby. Not only is it one of my all time favourite songs since I heard it by Roberta Flack many years ago, it's also fitting and much more positive than Lullaby. The orchestration is stunning and I'm so glad it has been added to the show. There were so many surprises about opening night, least of all the set list. Firstly, seeing myself in the video montage at the beginning of the show was overwhelming. It's all so quick and there are so many things to look at but to think that the video might be played for the next few months or longer is amazing. I feel like I get to share the stage with Céline somehow! I was also amazed by how reserved Céline was. I was expecting lengthy speeches and a lot of tears regarding the current situation. Instead, we found her poised and in control without the slightest talk of the difficult period she is living through. In many ways, this composure made the whole experience more charged and much of the emotion was thus delivered through the songs. I was also expecting many fans to spend a long time applauding, cheering and screaming for Céline in a show of support that risked turning into a farce. This was not the case. Of course, the fans cheered and gave her ovations. But the general atmosphere was slightly more subdued than I expected. I thought it was going to be difficult for Céline to get a word or phrase in as fans went wild but they (we) were much more respectful. In fact, at times, and usually the most poignant times, you could hear a pin drop. Fans were mesmerised by Céline and she was able simply to sing and be HEARD. Just listen to Somewhere Over The Rainbow. It was just incredible. As more and more bootlegs surfaced during the TC world tour there were times when I thought it had become a competition for fans to show the most adulation rather than listen to Céline sing. This did not happen on Thursday and the show was all the more powerful for it. The biggest surprise for me was having the opportunity to meet Rene Charles. I was in the lobby before the show and a group of people stopped in front if me with a lady in a wheelchair. It took quite a while for it to register that it was Céline's mother, her son and I guess her sisters. I must have looked ridiculous when they saw the recognition in my face. Anyway, inside the theatre I noticed they were sitting just a few rows in front of me. Now I NEVER do anything like this, and given what they are going through right now I'm slightly embarrassed about it, but at the end of the show I went over to them. Others had gathered by that point and RC was so gracious and patient and friendly. It is easy to forget that he is just 14 as he is so grown up and mature. He caught my eyes a few times and smiled and it was clear he recognised me as the dumbstruck idiot from the lobby. Anyway, I knew I didn't have anything interesting to say so I just asked if I could have a photo and he was very obliging. Another fan took the photo for me, I said thank you and stood back. He was surrounded by family and a few fans went to speak to Celine's mother who was still seated and waiting for assistance. Eventually she stood and was helped out amongst the crowd. I would have loved to speak with her but she seemed so vulnerable and tired. Again, there's nothing I could have said that hasn't been said to her 1000 times and I didn't want to be another excitable fan wasting her time. They seem so obliging and accommodating all the time and I'm sure she wouldn't have minded. But I feel very lucky to have seen them and to have had my photo taken with RC. It is probably the closest I will ever get to Céline. 16 iPod Most Played List The Power Of Love (several versions) - Céline DionThe First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - Roberta FlackSi dieu existe - Céline Dion & Claude DuBoisFrankenstein - Antony & the JohnsonsIn Some Small Way - Céline DionBird Gerhl - Antony & the JohnsonsLe blues du businessman - Céline Dion Ne rien savoir de Lol était la connaître déjà.
