I couldn't tell you the exact name of this program for sure but it was hosted by Michel Jasmin on Québec's TV station "Télé-Métropole(now called TVA"). It may be his self-titled program "Michel Jasmin"(first TV show Céline was ever on singing "Ce n'était qu'un rêve" at 13 years old) as you probably already know. He has hosted a couple of other shows but it would make sense that it would be this program.

Michel is the man with the cane that comes on at the end of the song.

I'm not sure. I would guess the first one is again from Québec TVA "Michel Jasmin"because of the white circle on which she's singing. The only one I'm sure of though is the second one because I know the show and its name is also mention on the vid. So that second one is Céline (with her mom at the end) on Michel Drucker's show in France called "Champs-Élysées" . Finally, unfortunately on the third one I could not recognize the host at the end because we only see him from the side...so I don't really know.

I´m confussed too! It´s not Jasmin, the host there is Drucker but.... I can´t understand because Celine appeared on his Champs-Élysées TV show on January 29, 1983.....

Hello everyone. As many of you know, I had a greatest live notes video YouTube before my account was suspended. I have already made some changes to the video, and will make more once the DVD is out. At that time, I'll post it. From what was previously posted, I've added about 10 clips, swapped out a few, and replaced one (same clip) with a better quality one. I will be pushing the 10:59 limit. Right now I'm at 10:21 and still have quite a few performances to add (all from the DVD except 1). Here is what I have. Comments appreciated. 5. Dimanche Martin was a bit weak, so I found that Tonight Show seemed stronger.

7. I found a higher quality video in terms of the audio.

9. The note is held longer in this one as compared to the concert One Nite Only.

13. I've been meaning to add these ending notes. They're C6's and sound awesome. Watch the DVD if you don't know what I'm talking about.

15. The G5 she does is amazing. Too bad is has Aretha's voice in it too.

18. The high note just before the long ending note.

25. I'm really not convinced one way or another if this is better then the Brunei note, but my file was missing in the video so I either had to re-add that, or this. And I figured this, since there is already a few Brunei clips.

31. I wish she would have sang the whole song with 100% effort. It would be so much better.

40. Before it was just "What do you say to jumping off the edge", now I added the "What do you say to taking chances" before that. Alot of range and skill is demonstrated in the two say notes and the off note; being able to change so quickly.

43-46. I'm still not 100% sure if I like adding in studio sessions here, even though the video actually matches up with the audio.

51. I expect alot of people to be pissy over the removal of World Children's Day. Well, the nothing/forever notes are pretty much just as good here as they are there. So it comes down to her holding the ending note here (longer then any other performance) as compared to a weak ending in WCD. Plus, in the old video that was 9:59 long, the last 45 seconds was basically nothing, it ended with her saying good bye, and it went through all the hums and everything. This ends 1/2 second after the ending note, and it's a video 22 seconds longer.

 

From the DVD, I plan on adding:

River Deep Mountain High - High Note + Maybe Ending Note

Alone - High Note

It's A Man's World - High Note

Fade Away - High Note

What about the big notes of ''Dans Un Autre Monde'' and ''Et s'il n'en restait qu'une (je serais celle-là)''? I don't know, but ''Taking Chances'' started to sound better to me as the tour went on, so maybe you can add those (I know some people think that parts of TC was lipped, but I am 100% sure that song was 100% live).

Tyler, I can see you don't know what the belt is. The beltrd note is note which isn't head voice/falsetto or whistle. And C6 from studio warm-up was hit in head voice so it wasn't belt. Celine's only belted C6 come from Vegas Love Can Move mountains (black and white dress). You wrote that number 39 is high belt. It's head voice A5 so it's not a belt. C5 from Rosie IACBTMN is waaaaay better than that one from Brunei. TPOL high chorus from Leno is also better than that one from Dimanche Martin. I don't if it's good idea to add note from You & I because compared to studio it was worse. I think that high notes and long notes from The prayer definitely deserves more to be in your video than E5 from Ten Days or G5 from Calling You. Whole powerful chorus from TP should be addad, it's something like The reason, all high parts deserve to be added.

 

BTW, you were saying you don't like when Celine's managing to hold last note in MHWGO.

Yeah, I'm trying to find video of the performance where she hit C#6 for DUAM, but am not having luck.

 

And sorry, but the ending of TC is definitely lipped. Look at how much different all 130+ sound as compared to the promotion. The lipped part is the first :26 of this video, the lines before that and after that are live.

I actually do know what it is, I was just feeling lazy and called it that. I don't really know why, just felt like it, lol. I like the You and I note, it's still like a C5 or C#5. I don't have enough time for The Prayer, and the note is clustered with the male singer's voice, so it's hard to hear. Similar reason why I'm not including I'm Your Angel. It's a note just like BYLM. A4 at 8 seconds, but it's background vocal. Barnev/R. Kelly is the primary vocalist in that part of the song, and they're singing there verse while her mic is turned down a bit so she can do the belt.

 

Yes, but because my length of this is almost at the limit, I'm in a position to where I have to end the video at the end of the final note, not the end of the video. The note in Divas is better then WCD, as are the high notes.

And Tyler she even hitted that notes on the X-factor performance after she messed up the other high notes, so I don't know. I just think you shouldn't compare those performances with the tour. When she started promoting that song, she still had to get use to it and find her feet. Remember they rehearsed that song before the tour plus she sang it in Vegas, so she obviously got better at singing it live, and as the tour went on it started to sound even better. Something that I've notice is that Celine gets into these habits when she does long runs of shows like Vegas and the tour. I think she gets to a point where she is so used to hitting certain notes in a certain way that it starts to sound exactly the same. I think she just do it without even thinking about it. Yeah, she did hit that on X-factor, but like the Vegas performance, it still sounded different (as did all of them really). To me, those notes (Vegas and X-Factor more so then others) sounded a little bit higher then the tour, but also sounded more thin (not as strong?).... I don't know if that makes sense to anybody else or not... :/

 

I have plenty of faith in Celine. She is the best. What I don't have faith in though, is the ability for ANYONE to hit a note of that stature the same 132 times.

 

Anyway, I'm not trying to start any arguements, but as an aspiring lawyer (lol), I'll try to get you to agree. Check these out, please.

It is from the french TV show Celine special: "Tapis Rouge" at the end of 1998. Celine performs with franch artists
