Edit : And thanks emi&celine for the only "My Way" performance I've ever heard Céline do. I guess it was recorded during Dick's funeral. I had goosebumps!!!

I believe this is related to Paris trying to become the host of the olympics in 2012. Celine recorded the song 'A Paris' at the time for the city. London got the olympics though.

It was kind of a good luck message for the French regarding their bid for the 2012 Paris Summer Olympics(that was unsuccessful). The bidding race was eventually won by the London bid after a 54-50 vote of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 6 July 2005.

I can't translate all of this, it's too long and some parts are ridiculous anyways. But here's some parts of it.

 

"Here I am with Céline Dion. Do we say Celeen Dyon now? Cuz now you're going for the "American market"..and I'm a little bit sad...does it mean we'll never see you again at the "Atwater" market? . It's a little bit lost in translation but the joke here is that this market is of another kind completely, it's a famous Montréal farmer's market or a public market if you wish where everyone goes - (search for "Marché Atwater" to know more).

So they talk further and we can see that Céline finds him funny at times but not that funny other times but she's a good sport about it.

 

Than they show bits and pieces of previous funny interview moments with Céline.

The thing here is that those comics claim(or show off) they announced years before everyone knew about it, that René and Céline were together(in love, a couple). They show previous funny(sometimes) montage they had made asking fake questions to Céline about she and René and they put answers they found in their archive that could fit and confirm their claim that Céline and René were lovers. Remember their relationship wasn't public at that time.

 

Than they put on this previous interview with Céline that "Never aired". In this interview the guy says to Céline :

"Céline you know we know you English with Johnny Carson, you English with Jay Leno, with American Music Awards... but do you French with René Angélil?"(meaning you speak English with the others but do you "French kiss" with René?).

Céline: "I don't know if I understood well your question because..."

René stops the interview.

René is telling him that he'd better not air this. He repeats it again telling him he's saying this in front of a witness. He ask him from what network he's from? He says he doesn't appreciate at all this kind of interview. He says he let him do it thinking it could be funny, it could be humourous, because "it could have been funny but this ain't funny" he says. He said that "personally he doesn't like those kind of joke". But he ends by telling him "but we'll meet again surely, another time though..". René was not please with this obviously but he spoke with firmness but respectfully. Contrary to Céline, I think René thought at the time that making public their relationship would not be good for Céline's carreer. He spoke about it since many times. So I guess he was serious here.

 

They end this by saying : "So when are we going to meet again? When?"

And than there is an answer by one of our former Prime Minister who said November 4th (in such a funny and unusual "not so french way" , it became anthology here now and people made fun of it for years).

 

This thing was done a long time ago, in the early 90's I would say. After Céline and René announced their love to everyone, I guess they wanted to show off their archive and made a montage and wanted to tell the viewers they were more clever than everyone about their love relationships. All those guys do other things now and have meet with Céline and René since.
