Because nobody knows so it's all just conjecture.

...I honestly didn't expect this answer.. That's so stupid.. randomly giving numbers with such a difference. I mean, i know it's an estimation but 400M vs 800M it's absurd. That actually pisses me off.

I mean, unless her private wealth manager is giving out personal info (which would be illegal), there's no way for anyone to really know.

In my line of work, I come across many of the people on the Forbes list and the Forbes estimates are wildly different from reality. (And we know what kind of shady hijinx e.g. Trump orchestrated to manipulate his place on said list.)

Bottom line, any time you see these estimates, for the most part they're just educated guesses. Sometimes easier to estimate than others (if e.g. someone's entire wealth is in a publicity listed vehicle).

Well, tomorrow is Friday. Will more audio videos be uploaded? Which ones will be mistakenly blocked in the U.S.? LOL

It’s a little after midnight, and three audio videos for songs from “A New Day Has Come” have just been uploaded: “Right In Front Of You” (seen below), “Have You Ever Been In Love,” and “Rain, Tax (It’s Inevitable).”

I've been interested in seeing what albums they will release next. With that being said, I was surprised that only 3 songs were uploaded this time. Do you think there will be more uploaded today? Or are they trying to stagger the release? I was initially thinking they would release all the English albums leading up to the Carpool Karaoke, with at least finally releasing the official music video for MHWGO on her channel right before the Carpool Karaoke episode.

I have a feeling the remaining tracks will be uploaded later today, or next Friday. “Super Love” is the questionable one as it was originally only available on releases outside of North America. However, it is now available in the iTunes Store. So, I don’t know if the contract states that specific song can only be obtained via them or not.

Regarding the “My Heart Will Go On” video, that will be trickier. There is probably loads of contract tape to wade through between both the record label and the studio which produced “Titanic.” It is interesting to note, however, there is already an “official audio” video for the song on her YouTube channel utilizing the cover from “The Essential” compilation. That audio video, though, is geo-blocked in many countries. For those interested in it who use a VPN, here it is:

Even though that video is geo-blocked in a lot of countries, I'm still surprised that in 6 years, it still hasn't reached a million views yet.

I believe that video, out of all her YouTube videos, is the most restrictive regarding geo-blocking issues. That would account for its severely low (by Celine standards) viewership numbers.

To some degree, yes. LOL Only three songs from “A New Day Has Come” have been uploaded. We’ll see if more get posted later on in the day. :)

That would make sense then! I don't know why they block it in so many places. They have no "official" studio version of the song available on her YouTube in the US.

Some blockings are purely accidental. Others are due to contracts issues. Most of the geo-blocked videos, from what I can tell, are blocked by mistake. The only ones which seem legit to me are the EPK clips for the “Sans attendre” album, as well as all the “D’elles” related material. Other than those, the rest seem like they should be available to the majority of the world.

Hopefully one day they will be available to the whole world! As well as her ‘80s French recordings!

Agreed!

Yeah it would be more than amazing to have official HQ audio of more of her early recordings  I wonder why we just have these two...

Sixteen more songs from the '80s are already available in HQ (on the Canadian version of On Ne Change Pas), so all they need to do is to upload them :pinch:

BTW, even tough most of these songs haven't been posted to CelineDionVEVO, certain HQ tracks have been posted on "Celine Dion Topic", such as this one:

What's particular about the "Sans attendre" EPK and "D'elles" that makes the geo-blocking legit?

Thanks for staying on top of this btw, and regularly chasing them down to the extent you can! I've given up a while ago... just resigned myself to the sad fact that they really don't care - or worse, are actively trying to keep her French material from the US...

I'm happy to report the geo-blocking on "Sorry For Love (2003 Version)" has been removed (in the United States)! (I knew it was a damn mistake! LOL) Now, the other restricted videos just need to get fixed! :)

This is probably going to be a very long-winded response. So, please forgive me. The length, however, is needed to properly convey why I believe certain blockings are "legit", while others are flat out blunders by Sony Music/TeamCeline/YouTube/Vevo.

The "Sans attendre" EPK includes special guests depending on the song being featured in the clip. I'm not sure if the clips were ever aired on TV in French-speaking territories, but my gut is telling me there could be contract restrictions due to either who is featured in said clips, or because certain French-speaking territories "own" the rights to said EPK.

Continuing on with the "Sans attendre" related blockings, there are major inconsistencies regarding which ones are available in certain territories over others. For example, there is a preview clip of the "Parler a mon pere" video clip available to watch pretty much everywhere. However, the actual video itself, its audio video, and lyric video are all blocked. Either the preview clip needs to be blocked, or the other stuff needs to be more readily available everywhere. That's inconsistency #1 for that album. Then, the music video video for "Qui peut vivre sans amour?" is available in the United States (even though the album isn't). Plus, after I hounded her team for months, they unblocked the live video of "Celle qui m'a tout appris" from "Une seule fois." The video footage for that video is for a song that was never available to buy commercially in the U.S. Plus, "Une seule fois" was only available as an "import" at music retailers. Plus, none of the videos related to "Le miracle" are available in the U.S. This could possibly be legitimate geo-blocking, but I doubt it. The only version which I would concede to having logical reasoning behind blocking it is the 'fan video version" due to possible legalities of using people's images within a certain territory.

As for "D'elles"? That album was never made available for purchase in the U.S. Plus, she never performed ANY of its songs in English-speaking territories (that I'm aware of). Every single video related to that album is blocked. Therefore, that means there IS consistency regarding geo-blocking for that album. So, that seems very legitimate to me. Would I like to have them un-blocked? Of course, but with there being consistency with the videos from that era, it would be difficult for me to get "too" upset. I may be a jerk at times regarding how things are handled in "the industry", but I also understand how contracts work, and why they exist.

That brings me to my final comment. There are three songs from "Encore un soir" which I do believe have legitimate reasons to be blocked (at least in the U.S.). Those songs are: "A vous," "Ma force," and "Trois heures vingt." All three of those songs reside on "deluxe" versions of the album, and were never released commercially in The States. However, with that said, there ARE some audio videos for songs from the standard version of the album which are blocked in the U.S. (Another example of inconsistencies.) Those blocked videos are:

1) A la plus haute branche

2) Je nous veux

3) Ordinaire

4) Plus qu'ailleurs

5) Toutes ces choses

I could go on about the inconsistencies regarding some of her English material being blocked (i.e. "I Know What Love Is" audio video, "You Shook Me All Night Long" footage from "Divas Las Vegas," etc.), but I know this response is already long enough. (For the record, they just now fixed the geo-blocking issue with "Sorry For Love (2003 Version).")

Anyway, let me know if you have any further questions. I'd be more than happy to respond.

Take care!

hmmm just out of curiousity, buuuut i wonder why they are FINALLY adding her older songs on her VEVO account on EVERY friday now?? agaon just very curious about that... is it cause of the new album coming out is why they are doing this now??

My gut tells me it's to keep the hype about Celine alive in the social media world due to the upcoming new album and tour. Could they just upload all the audio videos in on full swoop? Of course, but by dragging it out, people are getting alerts from YouTube and Vevo about "new" material being uploaded to Celine's channel on a weekly basis. Thus, keeping her, at least somewhat, to the forefront of people's minds in the music sense. (Now, if only they could get their damn geo-blocking mistakes fixed! LOL)

I was listening to it and suddenly this idea came to my mind: celine singing this song with Taro Hakese. And being a single. This song deserved to be a single.

The song would have been a great addition to both “A New Day...” and “Taking Chances World Tour.”

You might be very right indeed.

Dropping videos one after the other one keeps excitement up.

Wondering how many are still left. It might be an indicia of when the single will be released 😁

Does anyone know if most other artists on YouTube have all of their material in VEVO, track by track? Like do Pink or Adele?

Basically...is Céline playing catch up to the normal way things are done?

Thank you for your insight into the matter! One thing I did want to note though. I actually was able to buy D’elles from a US Best Buy in 2009. Not sure if it had only recently been available there, but I was surprised to see it.
