I need to say that when English-speaking persons speak French, they have an accent which I LOVE ! This accent is so nice, It always make me smile :-)

Reminds me when I was au pair girl in London and tought French to the English kids !

I really wish I took French more seriously in school I can't even string a sentence together. I'm going to try again though. I really want to be able to understand Celine's French songs/interviews.

Rene was the hunk of that group for sure. Better looking then the other guys by a mile. The cutest and most special thing about that is, Celine still sees Rene that way. Celine looks past the age and bald head and only sees the true him. The inner him, I truly believe she sees that same hunk when she looks into his eyes.

 

I think that is so special. To be that mature about love and having the right values is so rare and hard to find in life. Celine looks at things in such a special way. It's so touching. I truly feel like she can look into people's souls and see the goodness in people, she can feel and see there beauty on the inside and the outside.

 

I think she relies very much on the energy of a person, there vibe, there soul. Celine can tell if someone's a good human being and that's very special.

 

Celine is someone to aspire to be like that's for sure, she's a great role model.

Here's another reallly old, interesting video of Rene. At the beginning, he says "I have a little boy, Patrick, who turned 3 last month" -- which means that this would have been in February, 1971, and Rene was only 29 years old. He looks sooo different, but his voice and his manner of speaking are exactly the same as they are now. I guess the woman he is with must be his first wife Denyse . .*that* is really weird to watch - Rene with another woman. I think Denyse says that Rene is passionate, and is gentle (or sweet? I think she is saying he is "tres, tres, doux" -- and "doux" could be sweet or gentle) and sensitive -- and then she says a "but" -- but I didn't understand the "but"! I didn't really follow what they were saying after that -- something about who had authority in the marriage, maybe? The interviewer asked a question and I think Denyse answered "when i cry," but I didn't get the question (maybe Rene does what she wants when she cries? Or is sweet when she cries? I couldn't understand it).

 

I think Denyse also said, "I don't have one child, I have two [as in, Rene can be like a child, too]" . .if that's what she's saying, it's pretty funny, cause it's exactly what Celine said her Vegas show: "Three little boys. . well, *four* little boys." I think they also may have been talking about Denyse being a Gemini -- Rene says he doesn't believe in astrology, except for Gemini. I think he was saying that Denyse has a double personality - there is one he adores, and the other - "we won't talk about that" - but that other personality doesn't arrive often. And then I guess he's rehearsing with the other Baronets -- a scene where he's yelling "I'm the boss." It's clearly part of an acting scene, since they're all laughing before and after, but still weird to see Rene yell. Very interesting video.

Thanks. Interesting clip. He does look so different with hair and to hear him raise his voice is amazing in a way, so rare. (at least to us) So Rene prefers blondes

Well, Rene isn't the only one who improved with age. My God, her technique back then.. besides, she wasn't in best shape that night. Some of the runs were off tune, some belt she sounded like a dying dog. Compare with this one, just a few years later:

Very sad to hear about the passing of Joan Rivers. She was a force and a pioneer. And she will be missed.

Just noticed that Joan's last "funny" post on her Facebook account was about Celine's FL mansion being so expensive.

I just watched E! News and they did a very touching 1 hour tribute to Joan Rivers. It was so sad. I was bursting into tears for the entire episode. I loved her so much, as I know many others did aswell. I still can't believe she is gone. My body has felt numb all day.

 

If I feel this sad and I don't even know her, I can't begin to imagine how sad her coworkers, family and friends are because they actually had the honor of knowing her.

 

I feel like Joan still had so much more life left to live and that her time came to soon. Something had to have gone seriously wrong during her vocal cord procedure for her to have left us like this. It really makes you think about doctors. This should not have happened.

 

Joan was 81 years old, but she was so full of life. The most energetic 81 year old I ever saw. Joan was capable of living to 100 or more. Tragic, just tragic.

Well said and so true. when they are in photographs where their faces are close together and looking at each other, my word, you can see they are sooooo in love with each other. Very special.
