Finally nearing the ten million mark…

I finally held the vinyl in my hands. Saw it at the store. Didn't purchase, but it was lovely to hold it :giggle: A lot of vinyls had a discount on them, but I noticed Courage did not. Edited by PuraVida

I had “Best of all” on my misc deezer list since the release of the album. I can honestly say this has become one of my favorite Celine songs… just love it. So simple in every way…

IMO Courage is by far the most underrated Celine album ever. I never thought there would come a time that I would say this. Every other time an album did not do very well I thought it was somewhat deserved. I could see the flaws, so things made sense. Courage selling like 700k globally does not make any sense to me. In my mind, it could have been a career defining release. I am still listening to many songs from it.

 

Favourites (in no particular order) include:

  • Flying On My Own
  • Lovers Never Die
  • Imperfections
  • Change My Mind
  • Heart of Glass
  • Boundaries
  • Perfect Goodbye
  • I Will Be Stronger
  • For The Lover That I Lost
  • Soul
  • The Chase

I appreciate Courage a lot. The fact that Celine called all the shots makes it special. Her vocal delivery isn’t my favorite but it’s a strong album in other ways.

 

Maybe it’ll get another little boost with the release of Celine’s upcoming film.

 

Hoping with the rerelease of Titanic & the release of Love Again, Celine will get a well deserved boost this year.

 

And that documentary, whenever it’s released, I predict will be pretty big considering all that Celine’s faced with her health.

Indeed, it should have sold atleast as much as lmbtl album (over 1,5m worldwide). But on youtube and spotify it's doing good with numbers

I like every single song on this album and I'm so glad that they released soul too

To me that's a sign that she needs a better team around her picking and presenting songs. Like I said, 4 or 5 songs sound almost the exact same. The bonus tracks, except Heart of Glass, don't go anywhere. "Flying On My Own" was such a poor single choice because it didn't match the album at all - not to mention it was pretty dated sounding by the time it came out and her diction is atrocious.

 

And I think here is the producer to blame as well. He has to correct her diction until the pronunciation is perfect. Believe me, she would have a hard time when I would have to record her. I go for perfection and I feel like this producer did not take the time to correct those mistakes at all

Yes another classic. That's going to be stuck in my head for the next few days now!

 

Not sure why this is happening in this thread. Someone asked for uptempo songs for a playlist, I think we are delivering on that.

I ve heard a lot of complaints regarding pronunciation on Courage. Now that we know about the illness, do you think it might be related? In her latest video she seems to have trouble with pronunciation and we know the spasms were happening in 2017. Just a thought
