Well, I didn't exclude studio recordings, I said in general that he brings the best out of her vocally and used live performance as an example. He also didn't produce her live performance "I Surrender" in AND, but when he performed "Because You Loved Me" with her in Vegas, it was still better than her last live performance of it without him...even if the one before him was lipped.

How dare you call I surrender a scream fest! Its one of the best songs ever.. not many people can sing that song!!!!!! I view it as a song that requires the singer to perform at a high caliber and maintain pitch perfect tones for an extended duration of time.

I agree! I would love to hear Celine sing "Sky Full of Stars" off their newest album, as a duet with the band. She could totally do it, and make it even more magical.

Just kidding. Actually, I think Celine needs to stop doing any covers for a while. All of her major hits, apart from Power of Love, If You Asked Me To, and All By Myself were originally recorded by her. If she wants to have the largest chance to get a hit, and get the ball rolling, she needs to keep those 17 or more precious tracks open to original songs. Collaborations are essential right now for a "revival" Ne-Yo wasn't enough. She needs someone that people would turn there heads and be like, "Huh? Celine and him/her?" I have this vision of her doing a track with Eminem. His duets with Rhianna have been super popular, and I think that with Celine and him both being in their forties, they could do something about not being forgotten, or being replaced, or something. Sam Smith would be another great duet, for a piano ballad. Whatever they do, if this album rumor is true, they need give it every chance of being a success. Covers aren't going to cut it, nor will typical "Celine" songs. Once they get new, younger fans in on the Celine-boat, then they can revert to her comfort level, but for now, they really need to be creative. Celine's still got it, that we all know for sure. But a great deal of people think of her only as the "Titanic-lady." We've got to change that!! :clap:

I did not call It a scream fest, Alex did...bit I have to semi agree with him in the fact that the love version in "A New Day..." Was a bit screamish...not that I don't enjoy it.

Honestly I like the idea of Madonna and Celine together! I think it would have happened by now though.

I think it makes sense for Celine to focus her energies on recording a new French album. I think it would be soul-filling for both her and Rene. They should bring in a dream team and just have a blast. Considering Rene's current state, they could keep promotion relatively simple. Just a few big appearances -- then she could do some Live from Vegas interviews/performances.

However, there's no need to wait years before releasing new English music. In this day and age, it only makes sense for Celine to release a single without it being attached to a big album. That way, she wouldn't have to stress about doing tons of promotion which I think is why Celine waits so long these days between albums. Ideally, Celine would even be asked to appear on someone else's album -- like ADELE! A big duet or solo single released on iTunes would be a great alternative to an entire new English album.

She could then maybe release one new Christmas song around the holidays. That would keep her fans somewhat satisfied and keep her in the public eye.

In 2013 Celine's team rejected the invitation to collaborate with Laura Pausini on her 20 year career anniversary album, so I don't think they would be interested in collaborate with someone else, not even with Adele, who is now out of the spotlight.

I don't see an album for the next two years at least, after that who knows...

Agreed! I wish she released digital singles/EP's between albums. Lots of artists do that sort of thing now, and I think it would be a good way to keep her more in the public awareness at times that she's not doing a big promotional push for an album. It would also be a good way to release older/rare remixes, unreleased tracks, etc. without having to put out an entire album or compilation.

My wish for the new album is to actually HAPPEN. I don't care if it's french, english or mandarin chinese. But knowing what's going on in her life these days I guess she'd rather say OUI to a french album. As for the duets, I'd love her to collaborate with the genious Annie Lennox. Celine's been Annie's fan for DECADES and the only thing they worked on together was 'Sing' which was more like moonlighting and I want a full time job for 'em

And Iggy Azalea was mentioned here... I often see this name but I don't have a clue who she is. And now I saw her here :hmm:

I also would prefer a French to a new English album. Her recent French albums have superseded her recent English ones by far.

Although I know many of you will hate me for saying this: I would love to have a second D'Elles sort of album.

The lyrics were fantastic and the music was by far not as boring as with her last French album.

Pretty much this for me. I'd like her to either "do a Beyonce" and drop a surprise album or EP or commit to a release date and make it.

Quite honestly though these are the times Sony should be focussing on the rarities, remixes and unreleased tracks and getting them released. The last thing Celine probably wants to do is spend time in the studio which of course takes her away from the family life she's quite rightly enjoying just now.

That's not to say I wouldn't love a new album, I just think Sony could quite easily do it without Celine at the moment.

For the next album I hope in a song that exalts her singing talent... something like All by myself, think twice, call the man....something powerful... something that when comes that part of the song that you are waiting, it makes you jump up from you chair and scream "Yeah!!! That's why Céline Dion is the best singer in the world!!!" (just like the woman in the DVD "une seule fois" after Céline sang all by myself ANYMOOOOOOOOOORE...!!!)
