I just have to point out how happy aren't we fans to have gotten three new songs in this short of a time?? A video is coming. And Céline and her team has finally discovered the EP format.

Indeed, having the full photo now with that beautiful long pink dress, that changes things a bit...

 

I'm still not convinced with her short hair for the photoshoot (I guess I'll have to get used to it now that she's using it for the tour too), but since the album cover has her with long hair I still have hope we get more pictures with her natural look

Yea me too! It's super. It has this modern Marilyn Monroe-feel to it. Which the back of the dress wasn't black tough... rather have it bare or pink (probably the whole top is blak and it's part of the skirt she's holding up).

I'm assuming it is because Amazon has it uploaded as the full album cover art when you go to pre-order. Guess there's always the chance it could change, but I don't expect it to.

What exactly is a jewel box? And is this the version we're getting with our concert ticket purchases? Just curious if I should order another hard copy or pre-order the MP3 version. EDIT: looks like the deluxe version also has a fold out poster.

Jewel means plastic CD case as opposed to the cardboard sleeve style. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing that the one that we get with ticket purchase is the 16 track as opposed to the 20 track deluxe version.

I wish too! Unfortunately I think it’s the photo we got for the new singles with since iTunes has it listed as the album cover for the deluxe and standard albums.

Me too, it portrays the complexity and depth of the songs in the album. The other pictures are very pretty but more frivolous.

If the album was only made up of songs like FOMO then I would say those other pictures would go well as the cover but as it stands I think the image they have now is the best. It's artistic and shows a lot of emotion.

 

 

I'm so happy all her songs are doing well. On Youtube Courage and LD are in the lead but Imperfections is catching up, on spotify Imperfections is leading but the other are also not too far behind. It's a far cry from how FOMO did when released.

I disagree.

 

I think Courage is incredibly beautiful. Every time I listen to it I like it more. My only pin point is that I would have preferred the word "courage" to be sung in a more correct vowel.

 

I think Imperfections is the worst song. It sounds just like all the other forgettable beats coming out these days. It would have been perfect for the Loved Me Back To Life album in 2013.

 

I would say it will song even more awesome if celine is to deliver the song in her powerful vocal... Especially the orchestra which I found that celine went flat... Even it sound powerful n a climax but I think celine fans should know what I'm refering to

She can sing it as good and with as heart as she can, it won't change the intrinsic quality of writing/composing/producing of the song.

So he has right to find it lame. That doesn't mean Celine is lame.

Courage is a masterpiece where finally Celine doesn’t show how strong her voice is, but how strong she is!

 

I love Celine ... I don’t necessarily agree with all her Choices of songs from the past since FIY album (that’s far my admirar for her goes - I know I’m old Ahahahah) but I can honestly say (and all professional criticism are agreeing with me so far) that Courage is the most courageous song by far ... she goes into places with her Boise she never tried before and production is a masterpiece!

 

It’s not a trashy popy song which Britney or jLo would do and which everyone would love... it’s simply a statement which will inspire generations.

Now the question, which way sony should go:

 

Laying Down has 1,600,000 youtube views in a few days.

Imperfections is at the top of the world and is the one with the most sctreming on Spotify.

 

I do not understand how it works, but I think Sony should release two music videos for both songs, two videos simultaneously, without missing the opportunity.

What do you think about this? which song is more likely to hitar?

So I didn't actually listen to the new songs when they were released on Wednesday; wanted to hear them live first.

 

Finally got around to listening to all the studio versions all the way through yesterday, and here are thoughts:

 

Courage: It's certainly one of the most raw and personal things she's ever recorded, and that's nice to see. As someone already said, this is what Recovering should have been. There's nothing here that's particularly melodically memorable, but the lyrics are wonderful, and that's rare for a Celine song. Only thing I don't really like, paradoxically, is the "Courage don't you dare leave me now / I need you to take away the doubt" couplet; I think it takes away from the rather fabulous verses.

A much more "confidential" vocal approach than usual, almost like her French work, so I certainly approve.

 

Lying Down: This is great! It's melodically catchy and not maudlin like so many of her previous songs, but suitably epic. The production and overall sound is great; think she needs more like this.

 

Imperfections: I could barely get through one listen of this. Fake-sounding all around, dull production, derivative overall sound, completely forgettable in my books. If this is what current radio sounds like, perhaps it's a good thing I don't listen to it, because this is a snoozefest. But hey, if it introduces Celine to more people, good for her.

 

Overall, I think it was very smart of them to concurrently release 3 very different tracks. Clearly they're tapping into different demographics here, as already evidenced by Spotify and YouTube response. Some old-school Celine, something very different, some experimentation, but still something to assuage the fears that she's changing her religion.

I love Courage! It’s more then the lyrics for me, it’s her emotional connection to the song. She sings it so well, and I feel the emotion in her voice. Moccio did a good job writing something that I believe she is truly feeling. Also, the instrumentation is so beautiful!
