And Céline talked about the album being released this fall. That's still a few months until the fall. And they don't have to give us a lot of time before announcing it. They can do it in the same month even. Or do what some artists are doing, not announcing at all.

Ummm do all you guys not realise Ashes was the single. She did it with all her soundtracks on albums so this ones no different and probably is the new single

I mean what is really happening. Since when a album takes 5-6 years to record it?

 

In 2016 after the tour, they were talking about the english album, we even seen her in the studio.

In november 2017 : her instagram was full of picture in the studio saying 'we cant wait to hear the new songs'

 

and then : NOTHING, no words at all..

 

Ok the album will come out in late fall OR in 2019. That means songs recorded 1 year ago and maybe some recorded 2 years ago if they keep something from the 2016 fall sessions.

 

English album are really a mess now. Ok she is doing lots of show BUT for the people that love her but doesnt have the money to go to vegas or europe or asia (and there is no dvd at all) so all they can have from her is the albums, that means something new only every 5-6 years.

 

And i dont buy the 'the more time she takes, the better the album will be' COME ON she doesnt write her songs, she doesnt need 5 years to write a whole album. Loved me back had LOTS of time and its her WORST english album, She recorded her best english albums in just few weeks. So i really dont understand why now its so difficult to have a english album.

No it doesn’t take 5 years to record an album, but it can take 5 years to receive enough decent songs she actually wants to record! Lol some of the songs nowadays are just 😏 Celine said she wants to take her time, good for her. And I don’t think LMBTL is her worst album. But every one has their own tastes.

With all due respect, it’s just the negative tone that I get from some of your posts. While you disparage people for the reasons you listed above; you’re also in the lot of fans who presume to know what’s happening behind the scenes (ie: “she doesn’t want to).

1) An artist needs to create in order to keep being relevant in the business and for the public.

 

2) Because that's what her legacy will be when she's no longer with us: the albums she released and the songs she recorded. Nobody will care if she has performed 1 billion shows in Vegas or 1.579 times the same repetitive concert on a 3-year tour consisting on the same 20 songs setlist. But the audience will do care -and remember- if she keeps offering new recordings and more albums that (hopefully) include enough quality songs that still show ther versatility of her voice and that she can still create and amaze with new beautiful music with her mature voice.

 

3) and last but not least, because she won't be singing live forever. In fact the amount of songs she supposedly performs with playback versions is increasing alarmingly year after year, tour after tour.

 

Any artist of her success would be delighted to still show the audiences that she can do wonders with her voice, instead of wearing it out singing the same program everywhere she goes over and over again. I'd rather have new music released every 2-3 years before her voice is completely ruined for the over-exposure and abuse she subjects herself than 2.000 shows where we have 2.000 times exactly the same performances!

 

Aaaand, you say that's where the money is, but, does Céline need any money at all??? Does Céline Dion need any money at all to keep touring that much and not recording an album every 5-6 years? Seriously??? Come on!!! No offence, but this is the most stupid argument to sustain the lack of new music we have from her that I've ever heard in her case! If there's a reason why she doesn't release an album every 5 years now, money is absolutely NOT the reason/excuse for that, money would be exactly the last reason on the list in HER case!!! LOL

Excuse me but i never said the discography was a mess because there is a gap of 6 years between albums. I dont care! She can take 10 years between albums if she wants. I dont care if she prefer to do 1000 shows BUT at least release those damn tour on dvd for the fans that cant go to those shows! Why focus only on the vegas shows and tours?? Why does she have to forgot 50% of her fanbase?

 

I never said she has to hurry because she dont write! I said other artist takes 2-3 years because they have to WRITE and record the album. She takes longer with 60% less work to do, All she have to do is choose songs and record them. That doesnt take 6 years to do! But again she prefer to focus only on vegas and tour.

 

I never said she OWN us BUT i dont understand why they keep posting pictures in the studio with the mentions cant wait for new music and then 8 months later there is still nothing : not a title, not a release date, not a single for those people that are waiting for 5-6 years that album. But hey there is a tons of shows so they dont care for the other fans waiting.

Yes she is doing more shows than anybody but this is lazyness! A lot of the SAME show, same setlist for decade, no need to create new music, no matter how many shows she does, its still lazy! She stay in her zone without any risk and its a pity with that voice! She can still create HUGE things but she doesnt want to work for it. Its easier to tour with the same setlist and take the cash.

Celine doesn’t need to create anything new to remain relevant, she is doing it by touring. Her new (English) music doesn’t get played or chart anymore! She ISN’T relevant on the charts! She is, however, one of the worlds pre-eminent live touring artists. She does it because she enjoys it but don’t kid yourself that she also does it for the money! Of course she does. We all do our jobs, regardless of how much we enjoy it, for the money and Celine is no different!

 

2000 performances of the same songs and people STILL pay hundreds of dollars to see her. Not relevant? Hardly! Anything she releases in English (The Show Must Go On, Recovering, How Does A Moment Last Forever, Ashes) gets her a short burst of attention and then it fades away because people only care about the classics. Frustrating? Yes. If Celine didn’t attract thousands of people a week to Vegas or tens of thousands of people to her tours then of course they might mix it up or rush release a new album. And she doesn't even tour, she only releases studio albums since a decade ago, and (at most) does a mini promotional tour on TV (not live tours) So no, not everyone is doing this business for they money or touring for money. There are still some genuine artists driven by their artistic spirit and not only commercial/business purposes. And Céline is a very privileged artist with a position that she could take advantage to be the creative singer she once was, but she felt into the comfort zone of just performing so bad many years ago. She doesn't even make changes from one year to another in her tours, like we're seeing in 2018. More to be said about this laziness? Period

All the songs you have mentioned have anything to do with a "single" from her album. None of them were treated as a comeback single from her new album, nor they were marketed with any purpose by the record label, so hence the lack of noise and attention they received from the public! When Céline is ready to release a new English single linked to her new English album, then we talk about the response from the public. For the moment, nor TSMGO, nor Recovering, let alone HDAMLF or Ashes (which were both linked to a movie project released) belong to a new album with an imminent release.

And (I don't want to intensify the debate with this) following the example I put with Annie Lennox, with her last album Nostalgia she did a unique live presentation of the album in a theater, a one-single concert where she performed all the songs from the album, in the tracklist order. And to top it all off, she filmed that one-night, unique performance and she released it on DVD afterwards. Exact as Céline does, right??? :innocent:

 

- Annie Lennox, one-night concert, one unique performance of a full album. Filmed and released on DVD 3 months later.

 

- Celine Dion, 75 shows done between 2016, 2017 and 2018; none of them released.

400 shows done between 2011-2018; yet not a DVD released of a single one of them.

 

That pretty much sums up that there are truly and still artists who are driven mainly and only by artistry and creativity, and not money

That’s the thing though Javier, Celine ISN’T Annie Lennox. Perhaps the Annie Lennox forum is the place for you if that’s what you are expecting. Celine is happy in her “comfort zone.” She always has been and likely always will be. She takes the odd risk here and there but generally she plays it safe. Even when she was looking to add a new song to “A New Day...” they choose RDMH because she was comfortable singing it. They didn’t go with anything new or daring. She was in her comfort zone. It worked, the audience loved it and it became a highlight in the final year of that show.

 

She gives her (general) public what they want and guess what, they keep on coming! Celine isn’t looking to release albums out of artistry now, it’s out of obligation and clearly Sony aren’t pressing her for an album right now.

 

My friend, you aren’t going to get what you’re looking for from Celine. Her “laziness” and lack of “artistry” isn’t going to change because she does what she does and what she does the (general) public like. Just ask the 500,000 people who bought tickets to see her this year and see what they think.

She’s always going to sell out no matter what. The handful of frustrated fans is not going to make a dent in whether or not she sells out. The tickets that frustrated fans don’t buy will just make room for other people to buy them who may have inevitably been out of luck due to the way ticket sales are conducted (pre-sales etc.) and fact that her tours sell out so fast. There will always be a butt in every single chair. If some of us say that we don’t want to go because of her setlist, we won’t be missed.
