"Courage" album - Official Topic

Didn’t she also say recently that IF the album was ready to perform before Singapore she would do some tracks in the live show and if it wasn’t she would return to tour the album... so it’s obviously close to being finished as I only read that quite recently.

My bet - one of the shows (and my guess is the final Auckland show) is going to get the debut of her new single and the album will be released in September - new tracks worked into the next Vegas run before a proper tour is announced for most of 2019.

Anybody agree with me?

Whatever is the release of the first single, please let it be joined by a videoclip -there’s no way they can do again the fiasco of LMBTL, a live video and no official videoclip filmed.

In other words, whatever is the new single it won’t go anywhere without a video.

She's not the one who decides when the album comes out. I'm sure she finished recording it...

Now it's up to producers/mixers to do their magic and Sony to put some not-so-magical "promotion plan" in place! :giggle:

She doesn't decide a release date, but if she had completed an album say in 6 months and it's finished by 2017, Sony Music is not going to wait 3 years to release it, obviously :innocent:

Other thing is that she takes 6 months to record 3 songs, then she stops the creative process to focus on Vegas, and then 3/6 months later she takes another 3 months to look for more songs and record a couple more, and then we have a 5 year span between each album, like is the situation now... :hmm:

René's illness was also in between, but she had a good interest in releasing that French album asap, so when she has the will, things go smoothly and fast, if she wants. In any case, that was 2 years ago, and more than 2 years later, we don't even know a release date of this album. We don't even know if it's been completed (her focus is on the live shows and Vegas, that's clear).

It's good not to have rush selecting the songs so she tries the quality to be the best, but one thing is that, and another different is to wait 5 years between each album, for someone who was well used to record a full album within less than 2 weeks.

Let's not forget that by the time she releases the damn English album, a good portion of the songs will be already 2 years old (or close). And I don't want another LMBTL (nobody here wants I think)...

and that why i say -,minitours - yes - vegas - about time to.stop this adventure, unless this show is revamped and has a more interesting setlist and less shows a year

Just a reminder that this is not the 90's anymore. She can take time that she wants... and there's no need to release an album every year or two as she did (by obligation) when she was the top selling artist. Now, less is more. Just enjoy it before she decides to retire... :-D

And even if she stops Vegas, it doesn't mean that she will want to record more often.

Precisely, it's not the 90s anymore, that's why today it's easier than ever to record music and release an album. Some artists do take advantage of this and are constantly creating and releasing new songs and music. It's not necessary to be tied to a contract or a timeframe to do so, you just have to have the will to do it ^_^

just wait and see, i'm sure the next english album will be great. What if, after doing Ashes , she decided to cut some songs and record some surprising one. I guess we will know in the future. I would want somethig happy with rythm . We are due to have something great , not just an album born of a time obligation. Better wait and be more satisfied, this is what i say to my husband. :giggle:

But if you notice, even the songs that are being released frequently by artists have less and less quality. Most of these artists are also not very good singers. It's not easy work to record. It's not as simple as to go into a studio to just lay down a vocal track, no matter what year it is. Especially if you want something fantastic.

Just be happy will still get new music at all. And many shows if that's what she likes! We are spoiled and some people don't even acknowledge that.

I don't care how often she records as long as the work is quality and she actually sings them live. She would never have to record again if she went back and sang those album "fillers" from all her past albums. Those "fillers" are better quality then anything from anyone in today's music industry. Right In Front of You, Stand By your Side, Reveal, Make You happy, Where is the love, Then you look at me, I Want You To Need Me, just to name a few of many, ALL SCREAMING to be be sung and shine still

My ears melt at that prospect, because that's what my favourite album (ANDHC) was

You mean she might have replanned the concept and reject songs she had already recorded, in favour of other new ones? In that case I'm not sure if that could be good or not, because that's what happened with LMBTL :innocent: (and this also adds up more songs to the already long list of unreleased songs in the future :P)

In any case, rest assured I'm waiting to be surprised, that's for sure :in_love:

I'd rather wait patiently for a good body of work than have her pumping out songs like a factory every 2 months. Was LMBTL her best work? No. But i still think it's MILES better than 90% of what was released around the same time.

If she's tired or hasn't the same energy to record an album, she should be tired also for doing so many shows and touring right? But she doesn't show any signs of slowing down the machine on her performing activity.

Sorry but I don't believe that argument. First because recording an album is way easier than launching a tour (and we're having the THIRD one on a yearly basis), and let alone for a singer who is well used to recording albums in less than two weeks, and whose only concern in the whole production process is to put the vocals on a track that is completely finished and given to her. She only has to sit down and sing :)

Going on tour requires rehearsing, traveling, sleeping on different cities all the time etc, and for the time she spends doing just one show, she is capable of recording problably 3/4 songs without barely any flaws.

Sorry but I don't buy that...

Back in the day Rene gave some interviews and always gave a little away about the new albums coming.

Now we only have her in a interview from 2016!! saying she is working on her English album.

We got teased like hell during November/December 2017 with pics of her in studio.

2,5 years later still not a word.

It's true she doesn't need to release an album every 2 years. BUT the demand for her is HUGE!! Way more than we could have imagined 15 years ago.

So in that case I think they should have come up with something.

I'm hoping that Ashes + videoclip will be the start of something new.

But I'm so sorry, I think Sony will disappoint us.

Maybe Ryan Reynolds is ready to give up acting for a bit and become a manager. He promotes Celine better than SONY ever did. Celine is too loyal she should've left that label long ago.

Ah, thank God. What you say is just what common sense calls upon, like you say she's on demand and the demand of more Celine is still great, so a natural consequence of all the momentum she's been living since 2016 would have been to release new English music asap. The past summer in Europe was crazy, and most of us thought it would be silly not drop a new album in late 2017. That only made sense! But again it didn't happen, and who knows why.

(Others call it to be "demanding" :giggle: )

Btw, with releasing "something new" that also includes a DVD of her last tours around the world (particularly the 2017 tour that was filmed), considering that the last live DVD of an English show dates as far back as NINE years ago. That could have helped to appease the long 5 years without a new English release since 2013.

But even for this too her record company has proven to be an incompetent bunch of apathetic people -_-

True that.

Something could have been anything.

An EP with whatever they want. She doesn't even need to know what they want to release. :P

Javito, it's not up to you to decide what someone has energy or willingness to do. Céline can decide for herself.

Isn't there things you like to do and get a major boost of energy while for other things you just don't get much out of it?

Well that could be the same with Céline.

Recording isn't as easy as it looks. She needs to get prepared ahead of time, and that's why she could often record very quickly - as she is a professional and always showed up prepared as she respects the songwriters/producers.

Now, she loves to have an audience. Just like many actors who prefer to work in a theatre in front of people instead of working on TV series or movies.

Beg your pardon, but it was you on the first place who hinted at the possibility of her not having the same will or energy to record and album as she did before, not me! :) Edited by Javito

Exactly. It's the merry-go-round... I have no energy for that. :giggle:

All I will say is that Céline does't need anyone to tell her what she should focus her energy on. I'll leave it at that.

If Celine's gonna release her new English album in Q4 of 2018, shouldn't we already been given some specific and confirmed information about it?

It's getting kind of late.

I’d rather see a Q1 of 2019,I hate fall releases, it gets lost with the holidays, and I enjoy music most in spring into summer. February would be perfect time to premiere a single at the Grammys. Also sing Ashes on the oscars.

I wonder which one is now more likely to happen, a Q4 of 2018 or Q1 of 2019?
