I am a Red Heads for 5 years now, and got more involved last past 3 years.

I love the concept of #encore. I will contribute because the risk it could fail is nothing beside the joy it will bring if it works.

Happy to see Celine Dion Forum is sharing this mission. Celine Dion NL are also in, celcity as usual, and I know Celine Dion CN even created a brand new website to promote this operation (amazing work Ziggy!!) ! It's maybe the first time all the organisations around the world are teaming up to celebrate Celine together. This is amazing, but some of you still find the way to complain?

To answer to those that are skeptical about where goes the money or what is the process. Everything is perfectly explained on the www.celinencore.com website. Don't act like if they were trying to screw fans, it's been 7 years they are organizing stuff for Celine or the fans, and each time it has been done with the highest standards.

The RH team had a few time more than a thousand of credit cards numbers in their hands, nothing bad never happened.

You can openly read our FB page, we can also read your insinuations. Please let's respect what fans are trying to do, this is unusual I understand, but this is nothing else than paying tribute to Celine.

I appreciate that the Red Heads do high quality work, but I honestly don't understand why, if a song costs 1.29 on iTunes France, the Red Heads are charging 2.00. I don't see any explanation for that in the website or Facebook page.

Also, regardless of what good work they've done in the past, its standard practice for even very large charities to document where their money is going. I stand by what I said before - if they are taking people's money for a particular purpose, they should be documenting exactly where the money is going and share that info. If some of it is going to make t-shirts, that's fine if people are OK with it - but people should know that before they contribute - especially because they probably think all the money is going to buy the song.

I would love to see CE get more attention. Idk if it was ever a single but it's one of my faves! And I think the only one on that album we haven't seen/heard live.

To the best of my knowledge, "La mémoire d'Abraham" has never been performed live either. However, it has been included on select CD-singles and was part of the 3-disc "longbox" edition of the "On ne change pas" compilation. Poor "Cherche encore" has consistently been left behind. I would have rather seen this project focused on that song, or even something to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Unison" instead of trying to get "Pour que tu m'aimes encore" back to #1 decades later. God knows Celine is probably tired of "having" to perform it. I bet she would have be encouraged to perform something "new" like "Cherche encore" or "La mémoire d'Abraham."

The Red Heads are not a Charity but a non profit organisation established under the 1901 french Law. This is totally 2 different notions that you are confusing.

They are legally registered and they outlined their statements publicly.

But if you are still wondering how they financially deal with the transactions, please feel free to send them your questions, instead of suggesting something is wrong in their operation. It will be a better way to get the answer you are looking for : lesredheads@gmail.com

The Red Heads are not a Charity but a non profit organisation established under the 1901 french Law. This is totally 2 different notions that you are confusing.
They are legally registered and they outlined their statements publicly.

They may be legally different entities, but the concept is still the same to me -- if you ask people to contribute money for a specific purpose, you should document where it's going and be transparent about how it is spent.

I think after the contest debacle years ago when fans were ripped off and no prize was ever awarded, everybody here has a right to be leery of others who ask for money for special projects regarding Celine.

It's about trusting people. I trust the RH the way you trust CDF management, because I know them, because I met a lot of them, because I saw them working, because I saw the results.

Anyway..

The forum is a service that many of us benefit from and use every day. So when the admins ask members for a few dollars towards its upkeep, it doesn't bother me.

But the Red Heads are asking people to contribute money to be used for a very specific purpose that does not benefit the giver of the money unless that purpose is actually carried out. Furthermore, the price they are charging for what they're asking for is significantly higher than the market price. That raises questions in my mind.

I'm not saying the Red Heads are doing anything wrong. I don't know the Red Heads. I don't know them enough to trust them or not trust them. I'm saying that a situation in which you take the money of strangers for a specific purpose and have no accountability in the form of receipts or other documentation is a situation that's ripe for a problem. That is why it's a standard practice to document this type of thing.

It's like if you take a business trip and you ask your boss to reimburse you for your flight. Most companies will require you to give them a receipt to prove the amount. You don't say to the accounting department, "Just trust me. I've done good work here for years." Because there are many people who would take advantage in a situation like that. Scams and fraud happen, all the time, even in organizations that do lots of good things.

Again, I'm not saying The Red Heads are doing anything wrong. In some ways, I think they're a pretty cool organization. I'm just asking questions that I think are fair to ask when you're asking for money from strangers. I did ask this to them on their Facebook page as well, and I'll report back here if there is an answer.

Well I didn't want to mention this story but I am also one of those that gave money and lost my $$. Trust me, I know what you are talking about.

The RH have no similar cases whereas they've been managing way more projects : contests, credit cards, online store, purchased concerts tickets for about 500 fans, after show parties...

I guess I have no such worries because I already experimented their organization and had no problem with anything. I gave them my CC number to purchase Bercy Tickets, bought a few tickets for an After show, etc...

And, to be fair, the Red Heads gave a nice response on their Facebook page, which I am sharing here since I brought up these questions in the first place. I still think accountability/documentation is a good thing where money is involved, but I apologize to any Red Heads I offended. :flowers:

The money paid by fans via our online shop is STRICTLY used to purchase singles on the iTunes site as thoroughly explained on our site: www.celinencore.com

It is also noteworthy that the packages labeled 1, 5, 10, 15, 20... singles are indicated only for informative purposes to invite fans to materialize their purchase.

For example we know that with a package of €15.00 it is theoretically possible to buy about 11.6 singles. But we noted 10 for a simple reason: 15 euros (1.29 x 11.6 singles) - (Paypal fees) = 13.59 euros. By paying 15 euros, the fans know that they contribute to securing at least 10 more singles and a bit.

In fact, regardless of the package that is chosen in the end, it is the total money raised through the operation that really counts. For instance: 2746 euros raised (after paypal fees) = 2128 singles.

Also, all the costs of the internal operations are supported by the team. If this had not been the case, it would have been mentioned in publications as it has been done in the past (including for the #Paris2013 mission).

You will find on the website the daily update of the funds collected, the number of contributors and the average contribution paid for.

I've already been playing this album a lot at my work place. :thumbsup: I hope all the effort pays off at the end.

Yes there are French albums that have severely been neglected. D'elles being one of them.

The main focus on these 2 songs is because they're from Deux and the whole point of the project is to celebrate it's 20th anniversary. Well the album itself but PQTME as well. These are songs we like from the same album that didn't really get much attention. Then or now.

Hopefully similar projects can happen for other forgotten gems as well.

I understand the sentiments, but in MY OPINION, I just think it's kind of nonsense for fans to spend money on a song we already have supported in many different formats on many different albums and releases. I'd rather see all the money collected go to a charity that Celine officially supports and she acknowledges those who contributed in some way. Whether it's a simple thank you video message, or she matches the amount donated, but I just think for people to get this on the charts for number's sake is dumb. But I get it for fans who live on the charts and want to see their artist #1, but I just don't get it. But I still don't really understand The Red Heads and "their mission" as fans. They seem very cult-like.
