All change is a little scary, but it's an exciting time . .so many opportunities! And you can't grow without change. But I remember the end of my junior year really clearly . . I loved high school so much, and was so sad that it was coming to an end and all my friends would be scattering. That summer was also the first time I saw Celine . . .that was 1998. The year you were born. Now I feel SO. OLD!

But congrats on the milestone! Good luck with the college search, and don't stress too much about it. For most people, it feels like this earth-shattering decision when you're in high school -- but almost no one gets into the "name" colleges, and it doesn't really matter -- there are a million good schools out there, and what matters most is the people you meet and the relationships you form, which can happen anywhere. Very exciting time!

That's so true! But it's like omg I'm almost done with HS... Whoa! But I'm looking forward to what this new chapter in life brings. What I am desperately hoping for is that my close friends and I stick together through college and beyond. By stick together I mean stay in contact. They're amazing, and if I lose them it'll kill me!

I'm sure you and your friends will stick together . . .maybe not every single one, and maybe the relationships will change a little, but I'm sure you will stay close with your good friends. Plus you will make amazing new friends. And you still have your senior year to enjoy!

I only have really 2 close close friends. I would say I'm between an introvert and an extrovert... I have another friend but she's not as close. I like to have a small group of friends... Just feel like I can better express and cope with a small group. And yeah!! Senior year!! :)

I always say it's best to have fewer friends but have them be close to you than have lots of friends but no one that's really close.

Yeah, I'm the same way - I've always preferred small groups to big ones. And I had a very similar experience in high school -- I had two best friends, and I was so sad at the end of high school at the thought of those friendships changing. One of those friends went to Ohio for college; I stayed in New York. We stayed very close for the first couple of years of college -- we drifted apart somewhat after that (she hasn't lived in NY since high school), but we always maintained a connection, and, in the last couple of years, in our early 30s, we became really close again My other best friend went to the same college as me, and we stayed very close until our late 20s, when our life circumstances just changed a lot and we didn't have much in common anymore. But we've still maintained a connection too. And I made new friends in my 20s who are now my closest friends -- I can't imagine not having them in my life -- and I never could have predicted it when I was in high school.

One thing about very long-term friendships is that they have to have some elasticity to last -- times when you're very close and times when you're not so close, just due to being in different life stages. And sometimes one person or the other is putting more effort into the relationship. But if both people care, it will last. And you'll make new important friends in other life stages, like college.

Meanwhile, I hope you have an amazing senior year!

I listened to ''Un peu plus haut, un peu plus loin'' from her 2008 Quebec concert and then some live performances of the Sans Attendre era... Celine is so epic when she records and sings in French, there is a special magic and connection. Made me realize I need a new french album as soon as possible! I hope she releases one in 2016.

Is there anything in the world worse than cocktail parties/networking events where the unspoken rule seems to be that you can't talk to any one person for more than 3-5 minutes? I find them SO awkward -- will i know anyone? will i have anything to say to them? what happens when you *do* see someone you know and have a nice conversation with them, but then the allotted 5 minutes are up and they have to go talk to someone else and you're left awkwardly looking for someone new to talk to? Ugh, I HATE them. I have totally been known to hide in the bathroom when I can't handle it. It's pretty sad.

That's the thing these days, unfortunately. I chalk it up to the creation of social media..... you know? Only say it in 144 letters, texting, speed dating ect ect.

I find it awkward now when someone actually does talk longer!

Looking through photos of my trip to Europe last summer... I left a year ago today by day, tomorrow by date. It was an amazing trip... I wish I was going again. I miss Paris terribly. Like incredibly. But it's all good. I have pictures!
