I COULD KISS YOU RIGHT NOW!! Lipping is one thing, but to the damn track that ends to a fade out? Ridiculas.

I agree time to retire ALL BY MYSELF and RIVER DEEP while they are at it. The only "hit" songs she must sing in her concerts are BYLM, TPOL and MHWGO none of the "casual" songs would miss the rest believe me.

Not to be mean but maybe that can be one of her dumbest moments. Also the fact that the song is old as hell. She sang that song when she 26 I think and now she tryna play it off like she's not 45 thats just wrong. Then when the song ends and the mic goes off she starts doing what she should have been doing. SINGING!! Crazy!

in the bathroom, she sings the climax of mhwgo twice, the second time she sings it in the original album key O_O

 

she's only done that once before during oprah and messed up! i mean the Eb5 here wasn't perfect but considering how she just belted it out randomly without any preparation.....

wow that made up for how bad the show was. She sang LMBTL in 2 different keys, as well as MHWGO with the key change! She's still got it! too bad we have to watch her lip-synch to a fading out track... that looks really old-fashioned and crappy!

 

 

the first time she sang LMBTL it was 2 keys higher than the album version! :w00t:

Album playback? how embarrassing! Thy can't even use the modern voice of the Vegas show playback.

yea, or it is still 1990s and we all are clueless!!! Lol at the end you could hear that playback was over and she did I sing live ... :)

Worst lipped song of the entire show. She messed up so bad at the end after 4:30.

I would have wanted to see her face at 4:40 :laugh:

She has got to STOP doing this song like that. It's embarrassing. You can listen to this and KNOW it is from when she was younger. And then she came in live at the end and I cringed!

 

Come on it's not that bad...I was expecting something worse than that...

I love it that a few weeks ago I said I listened to her channeling En Vogue a bit on "Save Your Soul" and yesterday she sang a bit of "Free Your Mind". :wub:

Finally we have her come in live during one of her lipping episodes! INTERESTING. So she actually does sing somewhat while lipping. But when she did come in live at the end, it sounded nice to me. I wish she would just try the song in earnest, full-stop. It would probably sound great adding some rawness and emotion to it. Mainly emotion!

I just watched it and the atrocious part was the end. They could have used another audio track that didn't end in fade out. Opening the mic at the end made it more obvious that it was lipped...

 

Anyway... I loved Garou and Tal's performance...

 

Celine's energy and comradery with the backup singers on Dans Un Autre Monde was great. I loved the staging for "Parler À Mon Père"...

 

And again, she looked great!!

 

I'm super excited to feel her near...

Just watched the performance of ABM, it's just funny LOL

It's really really embarrassing! I watched only the ending part like ten times and was laughing, hahahaha

At 17 (almost 18) years old, Celine has beaten her own record for the oldest lipped performance after bringing back the ABM album track last night!!! :giggle:

 

Not surprisingly, the previous record was also made in France, when she was on 'Le grand show' last year, and lipped to the RDMH album track (16 years old at the time). As far as I know, Celine always sang ABM live when promoting the song in the 90s, she never lipped to the album track until 1999 when she was in....wait for it....France! :doh:

 

Honestly, I think it's ridiculous how they make her lip to these old songs - especially tracks that fade out and don't have a proper ending. Celine looked very uncomfortable after the ABM high note, as the ad-libs on the album track are totally different to her usual live arrangement, she really didn't know when or what she was supposed to sing. Although Celine sang live at the very end, it would have looked just as bad if she carried on lipping with no sound at all. Either way it was a complete disaster.

You are wrong, basically. She did a couple of TV here in France at the time the song was released and they were lipsynched. Anyway, the playback tape is given to the production of the TV show by the management or the record company.

Well I think originally Celine recorded RDMH with Phil Spector, but she re-recorded the song for the album after the problems with Phil, so I assume it was recorded in 1995 like most of the other FIY songs, but it wasn't released until 1996.

 

The last fully live performance of ABM was 14th February 2008, the opening night of the TCWT. Since then the palyback has been used every time.

I agree with mebe, its not as awful as some are making it out to be. Lipping Think Twice on an audience with...was worse than this.

sounds live yeah!!! too bad nobody recorded that! I wonder if she can still hit those megahigh notes she achieved during the TCWT!

After the birth of the twins her high notes dropped substantially!

I think that was an exception because it was the opening night! And we know the last note is always live and she often goes higher than the "big note". Anyways, I prefer the "hoarse" live note than the pre-recorded machine one

LOl sometimes you need to just laugh. The lipping is so comical.

 

I refuse to believe that Celine isn't that big a star in France that she couldn't sing live if she absolutely wanted to. The studio was clearly set up for it hence the end of the song.

 

What was the reason for singing a 17 year old single anyway?

It's really really embarrassing! I watched only the ending part like ten times and was laughing, hahahaha

 

I tried to watch it twice but my heart started aching - - like literally the feeling when a cop pulls behind you, or at the top of a rollar coaster. I couldn't do it! hahahahah!

On a side note, can she please record all future albums in the bathroom, holy CRAP she sounded soooooo good while singing in that little bathroom! Why didn't she belt like that in her performances?! Why is she still lipping and lowering keys when she sings like that?!
