I just watched it. I only picked up little bits and pieces but I thought it was good! I guess people were just puzzled by the lipping part?? Let it go! Much better then Le Grand imo!

 

I only got to about the 1 h 30 mark, when the video refused to play, but I agree that it was much better than Le Grand . she just seemed in a much better mood -- reacting with emotion and gratitude to the homages; gamely going along with Julie's escapades . . .I liked it.

 

Also, the National Enquirer folk ought to have watched this -- about Rene, she said something along the lines of, "We are one and we are forever"

I'm not sure maybe because she sticks to Celine like glue. Also when she tried speaking to Ne-yo in English I had to mute it.

I don't mind her. The English thing was annoying, but she can't help it lol! Just like her talking to Celine's old bodyguard, Eric lol!

I think Julie uses Celine's name but that's the nature of the business they are in though. She has a production company and knows what brings in viewers. No different than Oprah! I don't mind her. Don't really know much about her. Maybe the people who live in Quebec are better to give an insight on Julie. Her accent didn't bother me at all. Trust me, I'd stick to Celine also! Btw, it's not the end of the word that she didn't sing live. Of course, we wanted to hear her live all the time, but it's part of the game.

The show wasn't that bad, and it was way shorter than Le Grand Show. But the guests were better last year. Johnny Hallyday, Michel Sardou, Patrick Bruel,... those are legends in France.

But what moved me the most is the hommage to Celine's mother Thérèse, and the violonist who played "Ce n'Était qu’un rêve". It was really beautiful and touching.

He is the most loyal - who works with the same people. He could have worked with Americans to do their DVDs, their things, [something i missed] -- same people for 25 years -- one the great qualities about Rene -- and Celine -- is the loyalty. And for that, it is a pleasure to give homage to Rene."

 

Then they had Roch Voisine sing S'il Suffisait D'Aimer -- the host said it was her favorite song with Rene -- odd, never heard that before, and seemed like a strange choice for that moment.

 

Then they did the montage of beautiful moments of her and Rene, and Celine said, "Such happiness. Thank you very much." The host said something about fans loving the couple, and when they faced hard times together, like when Rene was sick, the fans were with them. Celine said it helped them enormously and she thanked them. About the show at the Stade de France, she said, "I felt truly all the love of everyone who was there." She said something like, "They were there for me, but they were there for Rene also." Then she said, "It's true that Rene and I are only one. Well, I think you were pretty serious in French classes back in high school! You got it all right

 

Overall I preferred Le Grand Show last year. I mean the guy was very boring...the show was more about family, life, kids, which would much more connect with Sans Attendre. So my opinion is that they should have used that kind of format last year, and for Loved Me, do a big show, since Céline always talks about how this is a new sound, it's edgier...

It's ok don't feel bad my teacher was too busy planning her wedding to focus on actually teaching us any french. I can't believe I can actually somewhat communicate in French. The way she taught us I shouldn't know a word.
