chocolatechip15 Posted November 3, 2013 at 03:34 AM Posted November 3, 2013 at 03:34 AM Celine Dion Is Getting Used to Singing 'I Need a Drink'http://www.usprocycl...drink-1822.html Celine: I do. I do karaoke in my own house and with my kids and The Wiggles. Go-to song — my kids bring me to what they want to do and right now it’s The Wiggles. The Wiggles and all the shows for children like Blues Clues. I would so love to see a video of her doing karaoke with the twins! 2 Quote

BLM Posted November 3, 2013 at 03:48 PM Posted November 3, 2013 at 03:48 PM (edited) I really wasn't sure where to place this info...moderator please move if needed. So I'm going through my local Sunday paper store circulars looking for ads on the release of the new album and the only promo ad I found was for Target....no Best Buy and no Walmart. Anyone else have promo ads for Walmart?? If I were Celine's team I'd be a bit upset since she did promo them at their share holders meeting in this video (6.45). Hoping it's not all Walmart store ads that did this especially Celine's store #2,050 in Nevada which she promo'd in this video I was shocked to see in my local paper this article which does promo the album. Gonna have to contact this guy ..."second-best-selling female artist of all time"??? Is there something I don't know? Anyway, happy to see the promos. http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu261/bubbawawa/image_zps124b32e4.jpg Target Ad http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu261/bubbawawa/image_zpsf4f6f3f0.jpg Edited November 3, 2013 at 03:51 PM by Bubba Quote

mike_z Posted November 4, 2013 at 05:15 AM Posted November 4, 2013 at 05:15 AM AMAZING! Reviews have been a lot better than those for TC so far! I love the last sentence from that canadian review: "At 45, the Madonna or Cher syndrome is not far. Happily, Céline didn't choose to go for "young". However, the singer has never looked/sounded so young." 6 Quote

sourdumpling Posted November 4, 2013 at 01:19 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 01:19 PM http://www.bostonglo...bs4K/story.html A mixed review from Boston Globethe author refer "always be your girl" as an embarrassing ballad? i bet he/she didn't even hear the album, or just skip it as fast as possible. thats why the article only talks about two cover songs, because the person who writes it doesnt even give the album a thorough listen, so he can only pick the songs that he/she already knew to write about. and always be your girl happened to have an strange title. i was like too when i first saw this song title. LuisMa Posted November 4, 2013 at 05:10 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 05:10 PM POPCeline Dion, “Loved Me Back to Life,” (Columbia), *** After selling more than 220 million albums worldwide, Celine Dion doesn't necessarily owe anybody a fresh sound; in fact, some might argue that should be the last thing the French-Canadian chanteuse should do. But her first English-language album in six years, and since she closed down her trend-setting “A New Day” show in Las Vegas, finds Dion creatively frisky and exploring new sonic environments for the muscular voice that helped sink the Titanic, at least on film — with help from producers such as Hasham Hussain, Emanuel Kiriakou and the Swedish team Play Production. The more contemporary approach is evident from the get-go on the Sia Fuller co-written title track, with its stuttering vocal hook and dubstep-style beats, which wouldn't sound out of place on, say, a Rihanna album. “Somebody Loves Somebody” and the bouncy “Save Your Soul” are equally 2013, while Dion delivers the Daniel Merriweather/Adele single “Water and a Flame” and “Breakaway” from the lower reaches of her register, a husker tone that sounds just as good as the more pristine approach that's her stock in trade. “Loved Me Back to Life” doesn't leave fans of her bombastic balladry wanting, either, thanks to “Didn't Know Love” and the Diane Warren-written “Unfinished Songs,” as well as a lush duet with Stevie Wonder on his “Overjoyed.” An acoustic, samba-flavored venison of Janis Ian's “At Seventeen” and the soulful “Thankful” are also winners, as is Dion's other duet, with Ne-Yo on “Incredible.” It's not a wholesale reinvention, but “Loved Me Back to Life” will make fans look at Dion a little differently and might even bring some new folks in from the sidelines. http://www.benningtonbanner.com/entertainment/ci_24450226/album-previews-celine-dion-avril-lavigne-david-bowie 2 Quote

Your_Su_Phu Posted November 5, 2013 at 12:24 AM Posted November 5, 2013 at 12:24 AM (edited) http://www.nytimes.c...ytimesarts&_r=0 New York times review is mostly positive. Despite the criticisms, it concedes that the album is "strong" (2nd paragraph) and acknowledges that she takes surprising risks. Does anyone plan on compiling these for wiki or will I have to do it? lol. I think we should wait a week until it's been released everywhere though, for a full picture. Or maybe wait for metacritic.
