New English Single: Loved Me Back To Life

I have a question a bit that does the AC Chart have any relation to Hot 100?

Like if the song is played much in AC Chart it will raise the position in Hot 100, or they count separately between AC stations and mainstream stations?

The Hot 100 is comprised of radio airplay, sales, and streaming (i.e. Spotify and YouTube) from all formats and genres - so yes, high airplay on any radio format will help, but since it has to do with the number of audience impressions, more popular formats like Pop get more points toward the Hot 100 than AC.

It debuted at #26 on the latest Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, but I think it'll be a few weeks before it racks up enough points to debut on the Hot 100.

Why did they decide to put it on both soundcloud and youtube? All the views could've gone solely to the youtube version.

I totally agree!! They should have put the Youtube video on ALL of Celine DIon's websites and social networks.

So she will gain more views.

I remembered the first day of release, people shared LMBTL clip a lot, but unfortunately it's from Soundcloud. -_-"

LMBTL is on Rythme 105.7 at the moment :w00t: . The DJ was talking abt the new album and if I heard correctly, he pointed out that RC likes Rhihanna and other hip-hop artist. I suppose you cant request the song on the station.

People at Sony perfectly know that Celine isn't a ''singles'' artist : this explains why they did not invest money in a radio deal and this also explains why they are not planning to invest a lot of money in the promotion of the single overall. It's obvious that they keep it all for the album release.

Guys, this is a buzz single. They're not expecting this to reach #1. The single they are likely invested in is Incredible; if they've signed a radio deal, it will be for that song, the second single, which will be released right before the album is released so as to blanket the airwaves with Celine while the album is still fresh. This first round of promo is just a teaser; the main event is still a couple months away. Sony has learned from their mistakes during the TC era and is adopting a new approach in which the first single does have not the biggest ht potential, but sets the tone for the album. The last time they tried this was for FIY; It is going to work again.

@Sia how was working with Celine? Would you like to do more work with her? Thanks for sharing you two are amazing!

@Diannehh I would love to I adore her! She's so down to earth and out there. Such good people!

YES! Come on Sia! I want the whole next album written only by Sia :w00t: . But not in 2019. A year from now would be great :P . That way we can avoid ''accidents'' like Lullaby and Water and a Flame. :giggle:

Let'a face it. Celine @radio is dead. The best we can hope for is an AC hit. If this song can't make it on to the radio, nothing she ever records will. I'm very disappointed. I thought we finally had a chance. And saying that it's too early to tell is BS. Montreal top 40 are not even playing her for Heaven's sake. Perry, Gaga, Rihanna, Beyonce are all over the radio within days of releases building in momentum. The momentum is over for LMBTL. A video release like Perry's would have helped. She may still sell lots of albums to her old fans but flop after flop at radio will cement her "has-been retired in Vegas status". Someone needs to wake up and tell het that she needs to be mentioning that her single is out now at whatever TV appearances she has left. If LMBTL doesn't become even a modest hit, NO ONE current will ever want to write for her!

I dont get it, when I published on NRJ facebook page, why boycotting Celine new single, they liked my link.. is that a way to tell me oh we don't decide , the song just wasn't sent to us to be played.

Taking chances was number one instantly everywhere, now they just havent played it at all so its not because the song sucks, that Celine has suddenly become uncool, there is something wrong and I need to find out what it is.

Celine is not a hot act to be able to handle ''buzz singles'' at this point of her career.

Had the song been just a buzz single she wouldn't promote it with so many live perfomances on TV (she sang it on Jimmy Kimmel and she is about to sing it live on Ellen and obviously on UK X-Factor as well). Had your assumption been correct, don't you think she would save the Ellen show for the ''actual lead single''? Point is, I would agree with you had the promotion of LMBTL stopped with the live perfomance in Quebec (and probably the creation of a lyric video too). However, on top of the future live perfomances, they have sent the song to radios on September 3rd (added in many AC stations yesterday), while there was a radio deal so that song would be played on AC stations the first day. This is not how the label would treat the ''buzz single'' of a 45 year old singer who hasn't had a real hit in US the past 14 years.

In my opinion, your comment comes from the fact that you are disappointed by its chart perfomance, hence you try to avoid reality, like many fans do. :P Once a singer's lead single flops there are always these fans who go on and say the song was just a ''buzz single'' and that it wasn't really mentioned to chart high, just to excuse the fact that their favorite singer flopped bad.

''Falling into you'' was not a buzz single either. It was the lead single of the album here in Europe. The fact that the second single released here turned out to be a bigger success doesn't change anything.

''Loved me back to life'' will reach its peak (whatever this peak might be) after several weeks. Most people here thought Celine would easily ''kill it'' with her new modern song, but this is just wrong. She needs to make small steps a time in order to have a hit. This happened with PAMP last year which reached its peak 4 months after its initial release. I'm sure there were fans who thought it was just a buzz single once the song was almost out of charts back in September 2012. :pinch:

We just need patience, less negativity and less rushed assumptions.

Hope you are right but this is not her French career. It's a whole other ballgame in English. I wonder if they even shot a video or if they are waiting to see if the song "makes it" first...

The promotion has not even started. Why do radio stations ''have'' to play a song when this song has not even been promoted by the singer and her label yet? Surely it was sent to radios, but where are the live perfomances? Where is the lyric video? The official video? Don't you think we should wait for their release/impact and then judge the single's perfomance? In UK the single charted outside the Top 100, do you really think this will be its peak position? I doubt since there is a perfomance in X-Factor coming.

You think we are talking bullishit, but all bullshit comes from you, since you put Celine in the same sentence with Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, whining about the fact that Celine is not played on radios as much as they do. You obviously neglect the fact that these single-artists are during their commercial peak at the moment. What Celine was doing from 1993-1999 with her album sales, it is what these ladies do now with her single releases. Celine has been there, she has done it, she moved on. Do the same, move on and don't feel disappointed about her commercial success, especially when this ''disappointment'' is pretty much baseless.

Point is: If she needed time to have a hit in France (given the fact that it is much easier for her to reach Top 10 in France than in US), she will surely need time and small steps to have an english hit.

I think you hit the nail on the head Luke. Celine even in her prime never bursted onto the charts with singles, even in her primte she took time to build; obviously in the FIY era it was fast, but still. TTWII even took time to build to a top 10. We are one week in and people are writing the song off. Its ridiculous.

There are some fans on here that will still come back tomorrow after Ellen and expect to see it in the top 30. Ain't gonna happen people. It will build slowly. Don't expect a monster hit; but I also don't think that by the time November or December comes, we will see a sizeable difference. Whatever that means, is yet to be said--but it will chart on the Hot 100. That I'm sure of.

All in time.

In my opinion,

I will not judge whether the song is a FLOP OR NOT until the release of the album.

I will give the song a time. Celine in this era cannot be judged by only one or two weeks.

Yes, as a fan, I want it to be HIT ASAP. But I know it's not easy for Celine now. I understand her situation.

We have Katy, Gaga, Eminem, Miley, Britney now as her competitors.

So I will give the song a time.

I don't know whether finally LMBTL will be in top 20 on HOT 100 or not.

But I'm sure this song will be widely known, even better than Taking Chances. :)

lol At this moment, when you look at her positions on Itunes, everybody is a competitor. She is so low.

The greatest mystery will remain the UK (and Australia, and Germany and Japan, and...well, almost the whole world). We still don't know if it was sent to radios or not. If it was, I can't believe that none of them plays the song. I prefer to think that it was not.

The biggest shame is however Sony in this story : beside not promoting at all the song, they didn't even make it available on all digital platforms. What's the point in being backed up by a major like Sony is if even the smallest independant label is better? That's the least they could do.

Well, that's their loss. If they don't want to invest a penny, they won't get more.

And you all forget the most important factor: Céline's been away from the music industry for 6 long years, retired to the eyes of MANY people. I repeat it again, SIX long years. That's more than enough time to forget an artist today and lose their track. So it's not like releasing a single now and pull it off at the first attempt. She's going to work hard if she wants to make the public believe that she has a new album :thumbsup2: Edited by Javito

Well, it seems that she doesn't want it then.

Because between an underwhelmed first performance (I don't want to start another debate about it but still...) and the fact she doesn't even know the release date, that's not what I call "working hard"...

I thought that the fact that she's been away for so long was in fact a positive one towards the success of this song! Now it turns out it's the other way round?
