It is in Jours Comme Ça that I wish I had lived on the other side of the pond to join you guys in watching this awards show and have fun as you did! (or that I had the physical and mental strength to stay awake). But I'm also thankful for your comments, videos, pictures, etc. You rock as always!

 

Loved her appearance, she looked hot and exudes that quality that is always present with her every time she gets on TV: superstar! I hope this is a harbinger of things to come and we will see her in the future accepting some awards and performing her latest hits.

 

Also for me, the highlight was that picture with Madonna. They look great and the expression in their faces convey that they were not only having an awesome time but that they were both super happy to see each other.

OMG What a night!!! There were so many artists that I love together here! Like Perez Hilton said, the night would have been perfect to me if only Céline had performed! Come on girl, how many awards you've seen go by without performing? She's always either presenting an award, doing a tribute or just attending, but never being part of the show because of her music! I missed Céline to be singing on the stage and show all these wannabies what voice rules here. At this point I wonder if we will ever watch her perform another song of her own in these Billboard, Grammy, AMA's etc

 

I'm so excited with the words of Céline about the album "I'm trying it to be fresh, brand new and MODERN" Only those 3 words together can make me think of a lot of exciting music and styles, but I hope Céline is thinking the same as many of us understand for "fresh, brand new and modern"!

 

Also, did you notice all the buzz about her english album? Come on, in both interviews first question was about what was going on with the album, it seems not only us are waiting for it! The questions about how is it going are becoming more and more insistent. Hope the girl takes this album with due respect and delivers something close to her 2002 return (if it can't be matched or surpassed, at least close!)

 

My only little complaint and its not really even that is her hair it looked good but the same hairstyle since 2007 and the way it looked today looks identical to Jamaica a while back. I think they need a fresh style for when the English album comes out maybe go a little darker and straight like in the World music awards in 2004 when She received the legend award.

 

Celine should darken her hair and change lipstick colour. Her hair look much better straightened. She's got a long chin & big nose and wavy/curly hair don't help.

 

I feel like Celine did her own makeup before the show, like she used to do during the 90's ... which is harder these days because she really needs some stellar makeup to cover up her wrinkles ... either that, or she needs to go with a more dynamic haircut that doesn't just fall to the sides in a boring wave. This would be such a good time for her to go with a darker look, like maybe a reprise of her hairstyle from the "Celine Dion" era ... she is starting to get insanely washed out with that same blond again and again ... i wonder if it's gotten to the point where she can't go back to natural, though, because she's going grey / the integrity of her hair has been compromised?

 

I've been telling this for ages too... but tell Zhane!!! Please you need to change Céline's hair from time to time! It's been a while since she's having the same hair and make up for every appearance she does. She looked almost a clone of the Céline in the 2011 Oscars. I would change her hair colour to a dark brown one, her tanned skin would look so good with a dark/brunette hair

 

And the the tone of the lipstick the same as her skin... not more please. What about a red lipstick for a change?

Agree. It's sad that these awards have massively gave in to the kids and young artists. I don't know what's going on, either the music industry is excessively focused on the youth of their artists, or the more veterans don't have any more ideas

I love the dress and hair! Absolutely nothing wrong with anything! The press conference has me excited because she seemed excited about the album. Paraphrasing: after the longevity of a career like this, not to reinvent but to freshen up. Love it! I wonder what was her answer to the "young artist" question. They cut that?

Exactly! There was a cameo of Aha's "Take Me On" during Pitbull and Christina's performance, and then I was like "man, why on Earth can't her do also a cameo this night??????" She has no album but she could have performed too with someone there! Imagine a cameo with Jennifer Lopez during "Live It Up" or something!

Taylor Swift has several times acknowledged Celine as an inspiration and as a huge fan of hers, so I wouldn't go too far in calling her that. I'm sure Celine respects her a lot as well.

 

And c'mon guys, Celine does not have to perform at every single awards show. True, I secretly wish she would have been a secret guest in the Christina performance. But she appeared, looked great, was happy, we have awesome pics, built anticipation for the album...

 

What else can we ask for??

I disagree! she should have darker hair but she wouldn't look older. I know that fair hair is said to be refreshing etc but with Celine that's not the case. Look at her pregnant interview with Julie and the photoshoot from that time. She has darker hair and she looks much younger!

I also love when Celine talks about recording in the studio. She makes me even more excited for the new album. Also love how people who meet her are so starstruck to meet her as they should be, I think she's inspired a lot of people in the industry and deserves every bit of success she has tasted over the years AND THAT'S STILL TO COME. Hopefully with the new album this fall.

 

There's a lot more buzz in the industry around this album verses TC in 2007. Yesterday Jordin Sparks tweeted "OMG, Celine Dion is coming out w/ new English album!"

She is, but careful, the word "legend" can mean both positive and negative things. Madonna is also a legend and she's not called like that. I think they look to her also as a "has been" artist, and that's something I don't like at all in the case of Céline. I don't like them to refer to her as someone who is looked as a singer from the distant past

I originally Sayed I liked straight and darker but even curly would be nce. For The last few years its been "in between " and wavy which makes her look much older she needs to go tottaly straight or curly IMO
