Plain and simple, I think the duet is a great idea. :)

At a worldwide release scale, yes. After that, there were just duets for selected markets, like A World To Believe In for Japan, for instance.

There was also "I believe in you" with Il Divo.

At that time, Il Divo was very huge ( especially in the UK and in the Latin Countries) and Sony didn't do anything to promote the song (and Céline by doing so) in those countries. "One heart" had just (semi)flopped and it could have been the opportunity to stay in the spotlight. But Sony screw it up.

As this duet with Neyo is likely the only song on the coming album to be played by pop radios , it won't be released. It might be a hit and Sony is scared of it. :pinch:

They can't take the chance to be played on radio stations!

It won't just be Celine and her team pushing the album -- Ne-Yo, his team, and his fan base are now also involved.

Ne-Yo has already started pushing the song. That's already the third time it mentions this collaboration (last time when asked what is the best song he worked on for another singer he said "the next Céline Dion's song").

This time around, Céline needs Neyo more than he does to get a hit.

Can you remind me what she/her team has said yet about it or him? Nada.

You're right it needs strategic planning and Neyo knows how to do to create a buzz and make fans impatient to hear it.

That's should have been the other way around.

Unfortunately true, sad!
I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

Maybe it looks better that the buzz is coming more from Ne-yo's side than Celine's....

My thought exactly. And it might look too desperate a move coming from Céline's team...

She's not desperate... oh well, that's just 14 years she hasn't cracked the US top 10 (at least).

Oh wait.

She is desperate.

I think her label is more desperate than Céline is... :giggle:

It's about time that Sony starts making the right decisions and choose the BEST SINGLES from the new album...

Well, you are a bit contradictory

I think if Celine and her team were pushing the duet that most people would overlook it still, simply because its Celine and people stereotype her and her music a lot, but by having Ne-Yo and his team push it and promote it its gonna attract a larger group of people to it.

I've recently read that Radio1 in UK didn't play Robbie William's single because they thought he was "too old and uncool" but it ended up going to #1. Radio airplay has really changed.. it's not about great artists or good music any more.

With that being said, Ne-yo does produce some GREAT music! He does R&B extremely well! His duets with Rihanna are absolutely amazing... there must be some undeniable vocal range on Incredible since he said it made him question his vocal ability. If he didn't think that the song wouldn't be a single, I doubt he'd mention it as much as he has.

If the song really is as great as the calibre of Rihanna's Hate that I Love You... it could very well get airplay!

I don't really see the contradiction. First post was about Ne-Yo making a buzz rather than Céline's side. (Not talking about a single here).

Second post was about Sony choosing the best singles...

Let's just hope that Ne-Yo's label won't have a problem if this song is released as a single... It would be great for Céline but Ne-Yo's label might think his "coolness" might take a hit... Hopefully Ne-Yo isn't that shallow! :giggle:

I don't think they would object to it helps Ne-Yo out to by introducing him to different audience too

Isn't Ne-yo the head of his label?

I guess it's going to be a win-win situation for both Celine and Ne-Yo (as long as the song itself is good) :)

Right, we have no clue what it'll sound like??? I think that's the main point.

I feel like Ne-Yo wouldn't be singing praises about it and saying it made him question his vocals if he didn't believe it was gonna be amazing

Please, not a boring ballad.

I really hope this is gonna be something very fresh for our Celine. BUT, in the other hand, if it's something that makes he thinks about his vocal's abilities...

I'm actually hoping it sounds nothing like "I Got Nothin' Left". It was an obvious filler song. Celine definately sounded amazing, but it's not like that song would ever be a hit. I'm actually hoping to hear something like "Bust It Baby Part II" minus the rap.

I actually hope it's not the song he did with MJ...I don't see it being a hit.

Why would he write two songs with the same name?

I'm sure it's this song. Which means... another cover!

and here's another version... released in 2005

I don't know didnt he recently say on twitter when asked what was his favourite song he has done so far... Or something like that, he said the song he wrote for Celine. I could be wrong with this so correct me if I am!

I really want this to be an original ... No cover!
