Great news!! Although French music doesn't win much on this "mainly English" award show.

 

She's not nominated for best Francophone album? :unsure:

Yes it's competing against English albums in those categories. I thought the same as you. Almost like a set up for her not to win. I hope that is not the case.

The Junos have not been very niie with Céline ever since she took Bryan Adam's side when his album was not eligible for the Juno Awards even if he's Canadian. Something to do with the % of Canadian content if I remember correctly. And when Céline accepted her award, she defended him. After that, the Junos were not so kind to Céline...

I hope Céline will attend the gala and specially sing! The last time she sang at the Junos was in 1999, can you imagine if she sang two songs like back in the day?? If she is scheduled to perform, Je N'ai Pas Besoin D'amour or Que Toi Au Monde should be good choices for a night like that.

Well they used to like her a lot!! She even hosted the show in the 90s (can't remember the year). And that night she won something like 4 or 5 awards.

Now they HAVE to nominate her to please the French speaking Canadians... :giggle: because let's face it Sans Attendre was the best selling French albums in 2012 and a top seller regardless of language. And they know by nominating Céline that she will attract a lot of viewers... I'm just shocked that she was not nominated for best French album!!!

Celine hosted JUNO???? I just remembered she hosted Gala De L'Adisq 1998.

Celine was nominated Juno 2000 3 times，2003 4 times，2004 4 times，2005 3 times，2006 1 times，2008 6 times，2009 3 times，2011 1 time. I just can not get it. :unsure: :unsure: :unsure:

It,s their own fault if she does'nt win an award, especially as you say, a French album among all English albums. If they were not sitting on their backsides, and rather got on with getting the English album out on time in the first place, she might have stood a chance of winning something.
