have you notice guys that on the official release they "removed" the lyrics from the screens, the one she was reading all the time

just notice that now, and they changed a little bit the angles from the " global broadcast"

have someone noticed that as well ?

so it do not look like she was reading the lyrics lol

Since we are talking about her voice.

Fact is that her voice was in top shape in the 90's when it comes to consistency (in my opinion, the peak was from 1993-1999). BUT when you listen to her voice now, you'll hear things you didn't hear back then. I'll come back to that...

Since 2003 the SOUND of her voice deteriorated (not her vocal cords), that was because of a lack of exercise and a lack of interest in her technique. I think there was a voice doctor or trainer who taught her the wrong techniques, consisting mainly of SPARING the voice (I think in order to 'survive' her Vegas shows). That's when she started to use the overly nasal-throaty technique. There was nothing wrong with her voice (apart from the normal 'ageing'), it was just her technique...it became lazy. The more time went on, the lazier her vocals became and the less she was able to use them with ease. And THEN the voice deteriorated, because of that 'sparing of the voice'. It had the opposite effect. At the end she could only belt or use the 'sparing technique'. And she even started talking that way.

After the TCWT she finally rested her voice and then started working on the technique again. She probably got a new vocal trainer who undid the damage (or the vocal trainer she had changed his approach). As a result she was able to sing the softer notes again without becoming nasally-throaty, mixing her registers, like she did in the 90's. And that is where she is now. Her voice has changed, and is less consistent than when she was 25, but that is normal and comes with the years. But less consitent doesn't mean it is not flexible. She has an incredibly flexible voice, a flexibility which she is using right now. Her belting is very powerful, and most of the time even more powerful than before, that is: the voice is much fuller, richer, than it used to be. Sometimes you can hear some irregularities in her voice, because of her 'age', but that just makes her voice interesting and never boring.

In the 90's her (live) belts were much thinner, now there is this full and richer sound.... Her voice is now much quicker influenced by fatigue. You can clearly hear that at the end of USF her voice is tired, when you compare it to Dans Un Autre Monde at the beginning, you can hear the difference. But keep in mind, that the concert was longer and more live than the TCWT or the Las Vegas shows.

I actually love how her voice sounds on USF, and of course even more so the Paris songs. Sometimes you can hear her fall back to her sparing technique, especially in the songs she sang a zillion times, like PQTME and MHWGO, that's the moment when her consciousness is just drifting away, and she sings more automatically and falls back to old patterns. But Regarde-Moi 2013 totally beats Live a Paris.

I think her voice is ageing gracefully and becoming even more interesting. Now we can finally forget the TCWT-performances. :)

It's funny now though because when I listen to the albums "Unison" and "Chante Plamondon" and then listen to her current voice...I can still ear nuances of her younger self. It's amazing.

Couldn't agree more. I stopped ordering from the Boutique because of Import duties on top of the high cost of postage charged by the Boutique!

I do have to agree! Her voice is now complete. It's not too thin, or too high-ish. She's developed her voice well :)

Wow, Alex, you paid a fortune! Thank god they refunded you, although that really sucks that it hasn't arrived yet.

Mine got here this morning, a day earlier than the canada post website estimated. A friend and I are going to watch/listen to the concert together on Sunday for my birthday, I cannot wait.

I agree with you "Dionism".

And with "Ziggy" she even got back some nuances she'd selved back in 1995!

When the song started I was expecting a nasal/lazy "ziggyyy" but instead she sang it really soft and mixed, a tone that brought me back to the DCP and CD albums!

She even accentuated and was very careful with the melody, I simply love when she sings "une tas d'amis"...

And then we have the choruses, her voice sounds so full.

And yeah, although we can see some evidence of age, "grain" and her "sparing" technique like you say we got the full thing now!

She even gives us an alternate ending with those really low notes.

And that clavicord is heaven!

A lot better than this one:

Tout L'or Des Hommes is almost as good as the studio version (and the live versions from 2003 were quite pitiful!). The ending is even better than the studio one "tout l'or...tout l'or..."

But yeah, I remember back in the day when the song came out even in the studio version I thought she sounded as if she had a cold! :P weak vocals, great song. I think the Bercy live version is the definite one! ;)

Who's loving the orchestral arrangements????

I have to say, I have watched a couple of songs on the bluray and the audio and image quality is amazing! I don't hear the autotune at all.

I am very happy with this bluray and it makes me relive my Antwerp concert. Great setlist!

I'm sure they have stacks of audios and videos, just wish they would share them with us. All of us fans would go crazy to see all those that they have in storage. Lots and lots of more money for them, and millions of extremely happy fans. Me dreaming again, ha ha.

Wow people are really nitpicking the songs lol! I listened most of the CD and she sounds great! The only one that seems off is Water and the Flame. I must admit I don't listen to her French catalog as much as the English. I have nothing to complain about the release so far--can't wait to see the rest!

Why didn't they included this video as a bonus on the dvd?

:hmm:

Lol! Why do they do (or don't do) half the things that make sense?
