· The show will re-visit her francophone material since 'Incognito' to 'Sans Attendre'

· Céline and René will be artistic directors

· According to René, there will be one or two surprises during this upcoming unique show

· They refused invitations to do shows in China and with big tenors, but couldn't refuse this invitation

· Céline can't do any shows outside of North America without the permission of their team at Caesar's Palace

Somehow it's also frustrating to read they refused some invitations, come Celine a few shows outside Vegas next to the 70 you are doing can't do any harm! I'm not asking for a world tour, but a concert like this could also take place in Paris ;-)

 

Anyone has some contacts at Feeling, or Julie Snyder? They NEED to release this on dvd!!!! It's maybe the only chance to get some original songs of Celine performed 'live'

I'm very curious about the set list. Concerning "Incognito" album, I hope she will also sing something other than the title track. I hope for "Délivre-moi" or "Comme un coeur froid".

 

I also hope she will sing "Tout l'or des hommes", which was senselessly deleted from "Taking Chances Tour" after the first francophone show in Belgium. Then, it would be nice to hear again "Les derniers seront les premiers".

I'm sure they haven't announced a DVD release in order to ensure good ticket sales. They would be foolish not to release this very special show for all fans to enjoy!

So now I totally don't understand why they extended the show till 2019 if they CAN'T do anything outside the America.... ?! that's insane

 

As for the material. Well it's a good sign that they're poiting out INCOGNITO so early but surely CNQR would be a true gem and they MUSTN'T forget that between SSD and SA there were 2 full albums! I'm not asking for much. Of course, I wish they included the songs she never performed live like JLD but at least some of the singles should be performed.

Just to make things clear, I made a transcription and translation of the article from Le journal de Québec.

 

Original:

 

René Angélil a dû obtenir l'autorisation de son employeur de Las Vegas pour présenter le spectacle de Céline Dion à Québec.

 

"Bien sûr, nous avons des clauses à respecter en regard de notre contrat avec la direction du Caesar's Palace (où Céline

est à l'affiche depuis maintenant dix ans). En vertu de cette entente, Céline ne peut pas donner de spectacles en Amérique du Nord

sans obtenir l'autorisation de notre partenaire de Las Vegas. On n'a pas de permission à demander pour des spectacles ailleurs dans

le monde, comme en Europe ou en Asie, mais pour l'Amérique du Nord, c'est différent: Las Vegas veut préserver son exclusivité et

c'est tout à fait normal."

 

Dans une entrevue exclusive avec le Journal de Québec, René Angélil ajoute: "Ils n'ont pas hésité à nous donner la permission pour

un spectacle unique à Québec. Ils se sont montrés sensibles à cet événement particulier. Ils savent que c'est chez nous et que c'est

quelque chose qui nous touche particulièrement."

 

Aucun autre spectacle de Céline n'est donc prévu pour les prochaines années hors de Las Vegas, où elle se limite maintenant à 17

représentations par année (jusqu'en 2019).

 

 

Translation:

 

René Angélil had to get the authorization from his employer in Las Vegas to present Celine Dion's the show in Quebec.

 

"Of course, we have to respect the clauses in our contract with the direction of Caesar's Palace (where Celine

In an exclusive interview with the Journal de Québec, René Angélil adds: "They did not hesitate to give us permission for

a unique show Quebec. They were sensitive to this particular event. They know that it is our home and it is

something that affects us particularly. "

 

No other Céline's show is therefore planned for the coming years out of Las Vegas, where she is now limited to 70

performances a year (until 2019).

 

 

So, from what he says, they need to ask for the permission to make another show only in North America, but they don't need it to make a show elsewhere in the world.

The only thing is that they don't actually plan to have any show outside of Las Vegas next years. So I think there is still hope we can see Céline in Europe for example. I hope they will change their minds.

 

But this also means that there won't be any world tour until 2019. Only smaller ones in Europe or Asia. The result is that if North Americans want to see Céline's concert, they will need to go only in Las vegas.

Wow! That's an interesting bit of news about her contract agreement. I wonder what she meant by "very small" changes to Vegas when Katie Couric asked her that question??? Not a huge shock that Caesar's Palace want North American exclusivity to be honest. They are paying her $100m a year after all.

 

Hopefully the Quebec one off show is a massive success though and persuades them to do further one off shows around the world from time to time. Expecting the rest of the world outside North America to go until 2019 without any chance of seeing Celine locally is surely unrealistic?
