She's doing so much this week. Makes me wonder why she didn't release the album yesterday. It seems like a major blunder on the record company's part... I feel like the Pandora thing was almost supposed to be an album release party. It would make sense. A Tuesday night concert on the day the album should've been released....

 

That's it ...

 

We'll wait and see then

Here in holland we'll have the album -officially- by tomorrow ;)

really that soon? im gonna just listen to it i think maybe at the weekend i wanna know what it sounds like before i see her next week and me at maximum excitement haha

I know this is a bit off-topic, but I was wondering if Alex is the only one American or Canadian coming to Paris for the MiniTour. As many people read this thread, if there's anyone else who'd like to meet for a LMBTL chat (to keep on topic :giggle:) and a non-alcoholic drink :laugh:, send a PM.

I'll be there... in spirit. Would have been an amazing experience to have gone. one day.

The Pandora thing I don't think was meant for that. This is a special series that Pandora does to bring fans closer to their artists and vice versa. Yesterday, Eminem, Katie Perry, Kelly Clarkson all released albums. That's stiff competition. It wouldn't have been a good week. I'm trying to find next weeks release schedule, but I can't find one. But I don't think it will be as heavy as yesterday.

Too bad that the album was not released yesterday, as with the great promo it would have probably debuted at number one. This week's biggest release, Arcade Fire's latest is aiming at 130-140K, while the second biggest newcomer, Kelly Clarkson's "Wrapped In Red" will do 65-70K according to HitsDailyDouble.

 

I wonder how the charts work with pre-orders . .if people pre-order this week because of all the promo . .do all the pre-orders count towards first-week sales, or do the pre-orders count for the week in which they're actually ordered?

They count for the week of release because you aren't charged for them until it becomes available for release.

I think she could have nailed number one with this week's release Schedule, as Arcade Fire is projected to do around 140K. So Katy might have a steep drop (she opens with 280+ this week) to fall to number 2 next week. Then, Eminem will likely open at number 1. If Katy sees another drop for her third week, it will leave number 2 for Celine to debut next to Mr. Mathers.

 

By the way, you may also be confused because the past opening week for the 2012 Linkin Park album was for a full-length release, but this week's Recharged is a remix collection and it's not posing a threat for number one.

Eminem's good promo has been the buzz singles leading towards the release date, as after lead single "Berzerk", he followed with "Survival" and "Rap God" which made good Hot 100 appearances. Right now he's number 1 on iTunes with his third buzz single "The Monster" featuring Rihanna. So all that will contribute to a handsome debut. They are projecting well over 500K for his debut.

 

I would also love for Celine to open at 1, but with only 275K shipped, I think we'll have to settle for a still good number 2 debut.

 

Oh, he's also doing SNL just before release date, so it'll pull some more sales.

I remember during the Taking Chances Tour Celine had a concert in a muslim country & she asked for a dress that would covered her arms because she didn't want to hurt the people over there. That is THE respect you should show going to a foreign country. Moreover, going there for living.

 

I remember when Gaga is going to have a concert here in my country there's a controversy about that because of Gaga's style especially her almost naked outfit. And the concert being canceled beacuse she don't want to follow the rules if she want to have a concert here (i don't know if it's true or not), but i think to my self that if she want to have a convert here she should follow our rules, this is our country and we have our culture anyone who want to visit our country should respect and follow our rules. Imagine if we have a guest to our home and they act whatever they want i guess all we want to do is kick their butt out. So i understan what Celine trying to say.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, sadly - label projections for Eminem's album are at 750,000 copies during the first week, compared to Céline's 160k projection. If Drake can open with 658k, Eminem will likely do better, and there's no way Céline will sell that much.

Yup, I think number 2 is a given. And sometimes it's not where you begin but where you finish. I know moving to number 1 weeks after debuting is really hard, especially in these times. But nothing is impossible! (And she has done it before!)

 

So we can keep dreaming and hoping the album does have legs!

 

I'm also gonna move my legs to lead me to bed, as it's hyper late. :giggle: Take care and love y'all!

I know. But I just can't understand why they didn't keep using the original album title for promoting the album itself.

 

Just like here in HK, even all over the TV ad are in Chinese words and speaking Cantonese, they will definitely keep the album title original.

 

TW alaways put the emphasis on Chinese, but HK, English. All TW CDs have Chinese OBI, but HK, NO.

I think this what you've known. So you should bot have this concern.

Now im considering ordering the vinyl!... just the handwritten notes of celine alone makes it worth it... more so the bigger pictures that are not kn the regular cd sleeve!

I don't know about anyone else but I think its time the Mods come in and put an end to this debate and/or move it else where. This is not the thread or forum to debate religious and political opinions whether they be personal or national.

 

Back to the topic though.....Does anyone have any idea of when we will know what the QVC(?) additional 5 tracks will be?
