Leo Posted April 13, 2012 at 12:04 AM Posted April 13, 2012 at 12:04 AM http://www.cyberpresse.ca/arts/musique/201...stina-maria.php this is an article in French which explains that Vito Luprano is not going to produce the next album of Céline Dion, René thought that he was earning too much money, much more money than the directors of Sony Music in Canada. René decided to not contact him to choose the next songs for the next album of Céline, it could explain a lot of things. Now Vito is carring on a new singer in Canada. He explained that prefers to work with this singer than Céline because, Céline doesn't writte her songs. He explained too that he is going to writte a book to reveal his truth. You can use google translation. Wasn't Vito fired from Sony Music Canada at the beginning of 2008? Vito was A&R and his job was to find the right songs for a singer. His departure means that the album might be delayed again. I bet Celine didn't like the covers he chose for "Dion Sings The American Songbook Vol. 1". If he writes a book, Rene will buy all of them before they come out, just as he has done with rights on unofficial biographies, magazines... Quote

I like what Vito and Celine has done together, but it's always nice to try different things with new people... I'm not saying "Celine needs to do it" cause that's something she should say and not me, it all depends on the direction they want to take or follow. *Daniel Posted April 13, 2012 at 02:08 AM Posted April 13, 2012 at 02:08 AM (edited) I think he was totally unprofessional when he was talking about Celine and Rene this way, probably Rene is very desappointed about the way Vito is acting. Out of ethics! That what I was thinking. It like me saying that I don't want to employ someone who is 48 where I can hire some *CENSORED* who is 17 and won't cost me as much (in pay rates). Maybe that how I'm looking at it though. fred Posted April 13, 2012 at 03:03 PM Posted April 13, 2012 at 03:03 PM Anyway, it will be interesting to see where this goes, even though - please don't shoot me - I honestly don't care about her music and what she does with it. I like what I like and don't pay attention to chart performances/producers/all that. What? Seriosly? Why? I am trying to figure out why someone would be a fan of a singer and not like that singers music... What made you a fan then?this is a wrong translationit say that he was earning more money than the previous 4 directors of sony.because of that he was let go.René was not please by the fact that they let him go because he was his only contact in sony/BMG in canada. he was not ask to work with celine (since sony is not working with him)about the book, it say celine have a book, rené also and he's about to get his own book because he have a story to tell for each songhe also add that when you believe in one artist he or she have to be the only one.he say that kristina is writing her own songs, not celine. he love to work with the writer/author.He did not say that he rather work with kristina than celine and the book is not about to bash celine but just to tell us the inside of every songs. Ororo Munroe just made a bad translation, mine is not great but more accurateA! Explains it all. I sensed this was really odd. 1".What? That makes no sense at all. If he was fired in 2008, why would that delay her project in 2012? He'll probably marry this Kristina Maria and remortgage his house to produce her album...yawn.Haha! That's what I thought! /fred Quote Peace and love to all.

Guest Reuben Posted April 13, 2012 at 04:05 PM Posted April 13, 2012 at 04:05 PM True is she was working very long time with the same people, maybe it´s time for change, hope new producer will mean succsess for new album(s). Any new Celine album will not be successful until Celine decides to own her career and to prove something to herself, to her fans and to the world again. In the 90s she was successful as she had a goal for herself and she wanted to prove herself. Over the past decade she has repeatedly said (and I believe her) that she doesnt have anything to prove anymore. I think she needs to regroup and refocus her own career, cause she is the only one who can do that. As I see it her career has just been idly running along making money for other people over the past few years. I think this is true for everyone, something Ive noticed in my own life/career is that if I dont set a goal for myself, my career and life accomplishments will suffer. Time and time again I have been surprised by Celine's lack of knowledge of things going on in the music industry and her career, as an example she had to ask Rene what the Ennio Morricone tribute album was called and the release date (in front of a camera on the Oscar red carpet!). Imagine Meryl Streep, an acting equivalent of Celine in the music industry, turning to her entourage asking "whats that Prada movie called again?" or "Iron Lady...who's it about?". Another example; when asked a few years ago Celine seemed to have no knowledge of who the producer Timbaland was/is. As I started out, Celine needs to start owning her career again, no one can do that for her. Perhaps Rene should retire and let someone else, someone younger, step in and manage her career? Quote

CELINO Posted April 13, 2012 at 05:29 PM Posted April 13, 2012 at 05:29 PM It's not a secret that Céline's career seems to be blocked. We are waiting for a new album to be released for five years already. The only things they have in mind are 'Vegas' and 'family'. We've said many and many and many times that Céline doesn't need to prove anything else to the world but - come on, let's be honest - she IS in showbusiness. She needs to renew most of the people - not all - who have been working with them- especially if they've lost a connection. She 'needs' new albums, new songs, new collaborations.. but that's an old story! Vito Luprano, we can't deny it, it's a BIG part in Céline's career. But I don't think Céline and René ever said/did something wrong to Vito that he would change his mind all of a sudden. The couple is smart enough to take such a decision. I'm ready to listen to what Luprano has to say. Quote

I'm ready to listen to what Luprano has to say. This may be true, although a new manager would be respectful of the talent. Celine is big enough to say "hey, Im older, cant run around the world like I used to, and I have three small children". Possibly the most worrying part of the article (in my view) is that Rene said that Luprano was his only (maybe I miss understood) connection at Sony Music Canada. After having represented one of the most successful singers and the most successful Canadian singer in the world, signed to Sony Canada since the 1980s how can Luprano be his only connection? Also I think its natural Celine has sway with Rene, she is his wife. But I do not think she has sway over her career, she was so young when she started he probably has full control over that. A new manager would bring new connections, fresh ideas to an established brand. What Dragone did for her stage show a new manager would do for her career. Quote

That she has nothing to prove anymore in her career doesn't mean that she has to feel totally demotivated and that she looks to have lost interest in delivering new music and recording new songs for her career. One thing is not incompatible with the other. She needs new music for her career, new songs. Every artist needs that to keep the attention alive from their public. But like you say, her career has been running in circles and has gone nowhere for the last 10 years. She may have earned millions with the Vegas residency, but what achievement she has gained with that adventure for her career? How has Vegas contributed to her career, in what way? A marathonian concert which has erased her name from the music industry for 9 years (and counting?) Not so long ago she told in "For Keeps" book that she still wanted to act in a movie, record new music styles like jazz and in new languages like spanish. I wonder where all these goals and whises have gone during these 5 years of absence, and sorry, motherhood is not an excuse. She is not the only mother in the world who has to work. Of course, other thing is that she just doesn't want to anymore, which is OK because she can afford that. But then, don't build fake hopes in your fans when you know you really don't want to do that in the end Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
Teodora Posted April 13, 2012 at 07:08 PM Posted April 13, 2012 at 07:08 PM I'm sad and happy at the same time. Vito and Celine made great music for a long time. We all wouldn't be here if that exact team of people wouldn't have worked together to achieve the success Celine has achieved. Vito was the perfect man at the perfect time. But I'm happy because I also agree with the fact Celine needs someone fresh. Actually, I believe she should be her own executive producer for the album. light_secret Posted April 14, 2012 at 01:50 AM Posted April 14, 2012 at 01:50 AM I want upbeat tunes for the new album, like what's in right now, a katy perry style, like it's very contemporary...she needs to re-invent herself like release a single with a rapper in it, Love The Way You Lie type...she needs to collaborate with younger generation performers like Chris Brown, Usher, Alicia Keys, even Rihanna and Kesha. It's gonna be a 360 degree turn but who knows, it might work and that way she can gain younger audience...let's be honest, we all grow up listening to her albums and as well we grew up with her...so i thinks it's time to work with a new team and just be thankful to Vito Luprano for all his contribution to Celine's success.
