"One Heart" album - Official Topic

I think this album is Celine's weakest effort yet

 

I bought this album after seeing the "One Year....One Heart" mini-DVD on the Live From Las Vegas CD, because it looked so great. I heard great tracks like I Drove All Night, One Heart, and Have You Ever Been In Love(which is already on ANDHS, so I don't count it). I listened to the album, and was very dissapointed. It seemed very heartless(no pun intended). The only songs I liked were I Drove All Night, Love Is All We Need, One Heart, Stand By Your Side, Reveal, and I Know What Love Is. I liked about half of the tracks, as listed. The others were pretty bad(especially Faith, probably her worst song). It wasn't Celine at all. I didn't feel anything, really. It was a pretty boring album. It has nothing on Let's Talk About Love, A New Day Has Come, and Falling into You(not sure about the French albums, i'm only starting to listen to more of her French music). I wish they had just put those 6 tracks on there and released that. It'd be a short album, but it'd be a good one

 

Overall, I was very pleased that the A New Day show and Taking Chances made up for what One Heart couldn't do.

How about "Forget me not" its a great song. And "Naked" i really like the whole guitar thing in the song. Does anyone here in the forum can share some of its guitar chords. Besides "Falling into you" songbook. I really wish Celine would someday release a songbook again that contains all of her music notes. so we can learn playing on it. I really don't like Je T'aime Encore that much. I don't know why, I just never did. I hate Naked for some reason.

I think this being her first studio recording since TAST

 

It was more pop edgy and rock it wasnt the sound we were expecting!!

although i feel its not her best album,, its not her worst either

and its a great album to put on during the summer,, for some reason it reminds

me of summer lol!!

 

& I would say my Favourite song on there would be Reveal!!

personally i love the one heart album there were a lot of songs to have fun to and also very intimate ones as well. I don't think theres actually been an album of celine's that i don't like.

Hey everyone, I found out Celine video here. When was this. It is from a movie. I think this is just recently, look at Celine look her.

 

The song title is "Let your heart decide" And again I was move by the song.

yes ONE HEART is probably one of her weakest album. but FAITH is one of celine's best songs ever!!! i cant see any reason to hate the song! and LTAL is also very weak. it sold 31M copies just because of MHWGO. but the whole album is very weak. FIY is definitely her best work.

It was an album quickly released to further the promotion of A New Day. There was very little effort put into it - with tracks that had appeared on preivous albums, remixed or just plain the same. There was a left over song from All The Way sessions. Apart from Miracle, this is the least effort Celine put into a record...

 

But, of course, there are nice moments on it.

It's a tricky one. But overall, I would say that 'One Heart' is not as bad as some people make out.

I'm not sure if it was a promorional stunt for AND... I think it was something to give the fans before committing to the show because she knew it might be a while before she would do another studio recording.

At the time I didn't agree with the decision to put HYEBIL on there, and I much prefer the upbeat version of Sorry For Love from ANDHC.

Having said that there are some great songs: Stand By Your Side, I Drove All Night, Je t'aime encore, I Know What Love Is, Coulda Woulda Shoulda. I'm not too keen on 'Love Is All You Need' or 'Reveal' but they're not bad. If it sounds rushed or heartless I think that's because Celine was probably very busy at the time. In any case, we know that she is never in the studio for long. And, as for the IDAN video, I think Celine looks great in it. Much better than the HYEBIL video and others like it, with Celine just stood in front of a green screen with other actors doing the work.

I miss real videos in real settings or where Celine plays a major part (IACBTMN, Think Twice, Immortality...)

 

As for Miracle, I think it's a great album with some wonderful songs. Again, I don't agree with all the choices (Brahms Lullaby etc) but it doesn't deserve the label 'Lullaby album'. I didn't buy it for a long time because of negative reviews so I was very surprised to find that I loved it so much when I first heard it. In Some Small Way and Come To Me are just really good songs!

For me , it's my least favorite. I know Max Martin is a great composer but he should have provided songs that really suits Celine. It's like Max has given her the songs that are not really good and doesn't suit to Celine's voice.

 

There are only two songs that I really like there: ONe Heart and In His Touch.

I completly agree with you!! One Heart must be seen as a fun album... just something for the fans because Céline would be in Vegas for three years.... There are a lot of songs that I like/love: I Drove All Night, One Heart, Naked, I Know What Love Is, Je T'Aime Encore and the real gem... 10000 times better then A Song For You.... In His Touch I also believe that the 'oooooh moooooooooore and moooooooooore' part of JTEA is stronger then the French version! lol

Maybe other songs are of the 30 something tracks Céline recorded for ANDHC... we'll never know!

 

Oh and Tony... In Some Small Way is one of Céline best songs EVER!!!!

I couldn't agree more.

I only bought Miracle recently because I had let myself be influenced by all the negative comments. But when I listened to it for the first time I knew I had been wrong. I loved the album straight away. In Some Small Way, Come To Me, Sleep Tight etc...

In Some Small Way happens to be one of the 'most played' songs on my ipod, along with 'On s'est aime a cause'. I just can't get enough of it! Definitely one of my favourite Celine songs.

I especially like the live performances and the little changes Celine makes. I just wish there was an mp3 of the time she sang it at AND.. in support of the victims of the Tsunami in Asia. Such a great performance!

FIY sold 32M copies because look at the singles, IACBTMN at #2, BYLM #1, ABMS #4. and that's the peak year of celine. the album sold truckloads of cd because of the songs, not on only 1 song. FIY sold 32M without depending on a movie's popularity, collaborations, its celine alone. and the hits of course. of course why buy an all instrumental soundtrack album when you can buy an album filled with barbra streisand, bee gees, carole king, george martin, bryan adams, lucianopavarotti. but both albums (titaninc ost'/ltal) sold well.

well you should get your facts straight, cos today exactly 10 years ago Tell Him was number 2 in the Dutch singles Chart and Immortality was also a pretty big hit! And even though The Reason and Treat Her Like A Lady didn't do that good, doesn't mean the album is weak! It has powerful songs like Us, LTAL, MTGBIS, JALBOL....

I really like One Heart album. it's not my favourite, but I like it. I found cheesy to include 2Have you ever been in love" (I still don't get the point) and another version of "sorry for love" (that I never listen to, since the original is way better). I also found a bit rude to include an advertising of Chrysler on th CD.

Besides that, overall, it's a good album.

The song I don't like are "love is all we need" and "Coulda, woulda, shoulda" .

 

About "Miracle", it's a very special album for me and my wife, since our daughter was born just a few months after it was realeased...so we played it all day long by her craddle.

I like the album although i think she has released better albums. I love I Drove All Night - definitly the best song on the album but i dont not like it - i dont think i could ever dislike a Celine album - just hearing her voice sends shivers down my spine!!

Without depending on a movie's popularity? Maybe you don't know it but ''Because you loved Me'' is theme song from 'Up Close & Personal' movie. Celine even performed the song at the Oscar in 1997!
