Danke Michi! I still think it is realistic to get a new French album somewhere end April or beginning of May.

We still have no single - so what? I'm glad they are not repeating that step from 2007 when they released "ESNRQ" over 3 months prior to the album release.

They can still release a 1st single somewhen mid March or even in April so it will be still fresh and hot when the album hits the stores.

It's not very likely we'll get something in April/May.... it's more likely she will be recording the album (and maybe the English one too, if it won't be a live one) in that period and release it in August/September.

I don't know, I thought at first her voice would go to crap after starting Vegas, but her schedule is much less grueling. She's playing 2 shows and then has a rest doesn't she? I think she's learned her lesson about too many shows in Vegas.

Exactly. The only chance she would release the French album in April/May is that she recorded it in February. But we didn't hear anything about it.

I think it was originally planned for Spring release but I think they will just postponed it to Autumn and the English one for next Spring... I doubt that she has recorded anything in Feb

I'm not sure about that, if she had learned something about Vegas she wouldn't have returned there to do another contract for 3 years in a place where she knows her voice suffers She isn't 25 or 30 anymore, and her vocal chords are not the same. However I think its more important the $$$ she's getting paid by Caesars Palace to stay there than having a peaceful life in Canada or Florida enjoying her family and promoting her music from time to time... Sorry to speak that honestly

 

The music recorded in a CD lasts forever there, but who remembers the #517 show of A New Day or the #358, if you know what I mean? If they wanted to do things properly, she would have recorded almost all the songs from her french/english cds before Vegas started again

Can't agree more! Her big mistake is starting Vegas without doing sth on the new albums before it. It doesn't make sence to me. Why 3 years, why Vegas after knowing what will happen with her voice? I mean, come on, is she in finance crisis? I know and i'm proud of her being so important for Vegas economy, but she really has to think about herself, settle down, and do more concerts, albums, etc.. That way she'll have enough free time for her fans and more for her family!

And what hurts the most it that with A New Day, she released a CD the same day the show started to compensate those fans who couldn't attend her new show in Las Vegas, but this time, nada

 

I'm not putting the blame on her, but things could have been arranged much much better. She's a mother of 2 newborns now and she's busy and tired... totally OK. But read again those words, tired and busy... she is a mother of 2 babies of 4 months, she can be busy and tired for entering the recording studio (for how long, 2 or 3 weeks at most?) but she isn't tired to start rehearsals for a 3 year new show and prepare for that?? I'm sorry but it doesn't make sense to me

She isn't in crisis, but she said "when Caesars Palace asked me to return here for another 3 years, I couldn't refuse". Of course she couldn't refuse, as long as René is in charge since he likes $$$$ more than a pair of new shoes

 

Just look what René did during the first years of A New Day, he spent all the day playing and gambling in the casinos while Céline was working herself to death and she barely saw him when she was home (this said by Céline herself in the AND DVD)

Sure I would so much prefer her to do a contract like that (a few years of shows in one place in a row) for example in a smaller venue in Montréal or at something like Olympia! But yeah, other than in Vegas they wouldn't be able to make that big money and sure as that, that where it all comes down to.

 

As for her having or having not done the recordings for the new album - does the fact that we haven't heard anything about her doing the recordings really eliminates the chance she may actually have recorded something during her pregnancy or at late 2010 / early 2011?? I mean, c'mon, we can't follow her every step and if they were going particularly cautious about keeping the work secretive, maybe there simply was no leak on that matter.

Someone has posted on TeamCeline that both the French and English albums have been postponed. Can anyone verify the truth of this please?

 

Rene Angelil reveals in today's edition of the Journal de Montreal that a new French album was planned for early 2011 but was postponed.

 

"We have everything, the songs. We should have done earlier recordings, but because of the birth of babies and the fact that her is breastfeeding, she was not a good time to record. It was only postponed. The same thing for the English album, which will come after the album in French, when we have more time" said Rene Angelil, who also spoke with great joy of the children:

 

"The greatest gift we could have had, was a child. When you have two, it's incredible. What surprised us [the baptized] was to see how much our babies are calm. They did not cry once. They are adorable. They have four and a half months, and with Rene-Charles, they are the greatest joy we could have".

That's more or less correct: There's an article on Cyberpresse (can be easily found with Google) which states that they have 90% of the songs chosen (including one new song by Jean-Pierre Ferland and his song "Une chance qu'on s'a" which they want to introduce to the French public, plus some songs by Luc Plamondon, plus songs by French authors, some of them part of the circle around Goldman, but not by Goldman himself). They wanted to record these tracks in Florida, but as Céline wasn't in top form, they decided to postpone, with a release now planned in autumn 2011.

I think the album that you're talking about is D'Elles. As far as I know it's the only french album released on the same time.

Does anyone here have at least a little faith that she will sound okay on the new albums? Let's not forget, she is cutting her workload in HALF. Her voice will likely stand up okay with the schedule she has. Plenty of time to rest in between shows and she's not straining it as much doing 4 or 5 shows in a row for weeks on end. I think her voice will be okay.

I´m little bit dissapointed, I hoped that afterall there will be new album in spring, but I hope it will be good album while we wait for so long, it will be 1 year and half since René told about new album in march 2010. And also hope they will do good promo for album, she is not in Las Vegas from august to december so there is time for promotion.
