Has there been anymore said on the rumor where she was going to write her own songs for the album?
Posted

Yes, I've heard the very rumour some weeks ago but apparently it hasn't been officially confirmed so it's also possible that it will remain only a rumour... :(

Of course if it should prove to be true than it may explain why we don't hear about any collaborations, songwritters etc. - simply because there are none. ;) And Céline have had planty of time recently to work on some new songs or to polish some she already written long time ago...

Oh my gosh, Mylène is so much not like Madonna!!!! :omg: OK, she does spectacular shows and her music may have some resemblance to Madona's because of the electronic touch to it or whatever it's called. But that's already it. I'm not one of those "worshipers" of Mylène's but still I think she's one different class than Madonna. And, after all, what's that big "bad" about Madonna? She's controvertial, she did some scandals in the past, ok, but she's also very talented and very very recognizable musically. She likes to experiment to. I'm not a fan of hers at all but seriously, a well written/well produced colaboration with Céline would be something refreshing. But ok, I'll leave it here as this rather belongs to "English album" topic.

As for Shy'm, she's rather new in business, has released 3 albums so far, the first one in 2006. I have all her albums and i think she's really really great in what's she's doing!!! So much better than Lââm for example, Shy'm at least has a really beautiful charming voice and is not singing like a sheep, lol! ;) I liked "Jamais loin de toi" by Lââm but most of the times in her other songs her voice really bothered me...

And I do think Shy'm is already pretty famous in France and I also have friends in other countries who know her and who like her. Give her time, she's still at the beginning of her career so of course she can't be as famous as Mylène, Lara Fabian etc. Plus, Shy'm is indeed very shy, that's what makes her career quiter, not as spectacular as some of her collegues in business but who cares about that? The voice is what counts for me. :)

Camelia Jordana has a nice voice too that would probably mix nicely with Céline's but she's even more of a newcomer than Shy'm as far as I'm concerned.

Patrick Fiori is really a good and talented singer. If I never wished for him to do a duet with Céline eas only because I, in my personal opinion don't like his voice/songs much. I prefere male singers to sound more/// male than he does. :) But that's really only my personal impression. He is big star in France, established for over 10 years now, with a lot of well-earned successes. :)

Mylene Farmer is the French Madonna; she's exactly what Celine isn't.

If you don't know what Mylene's music is about, it would be very naive of you to summarize her entire catalogue in just 'French Madonna'. Just like Barbara said in the previous post, sure, she has an electronic touch to her music and is very relevant even at the age of 50, but songs in the albums like "Innamoramento", "Annamorphosee" or even "Avant Que l'Ombre" shows that she isn't just glitz and glamour.

Anyway, just hope her writers are good and the production slick with just enough of a raw edge so as not to make it over-produced, but if she were to sing duets with someone, God, I hope it isn't with old dinosaur men

I don't like Mylene's voice, so I vote no :giggle:

It has been said that Céline delivered a few songs when she delivered Entre Deux Mondes, but if these songs will find the light of day, we'll have to wait and see :thumbsup2:

How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

Posted (edited)

So true about overpoduction! I would hate it to be overproduced too!!

Actually that's why I love Céline's French albums way more than the english ones: on her French productions there are usually more "raw" songs, more stuff that shows all different aspects of her voice and which are not polished at the highest gloss. Plus, there are usually more acoustic-ish songs on her French slbum, songs with more piano or acoustic guitar and less keybords or, worst off all, with vocoders and other computer-ish edits to the songs (both: to the melody and to the vocals).

I have nothing against electronic music, I love Mylène, I love Owl City, I love Schiller...

But when someone has such voice like our dearest Girl than it's for me a real waste to work it over with electronic/computery effects! :(

I wish for more acoustic(y) songs like "On s'est aimé à cause", "Je cherche l'ombre", "Hélène"; for more songs with an rock egde to them like "Si j'étais quelqu'un", "Je danse dans ma tête", "Destin", "Au bout de mes rêves" and for more jazzy songs like "Quand on s'aime", "Brûles pas tes doigts"...

At the end... I just recently had a daydream... I dreamed how awesone it would be if Céline would do a duet with Zaz!!!!

For example the two of them singing Zaz's "Éblouie par la nuit" together!!! OMG!!....

I get goosebumps each time my album of Zaz reaches this very last song...

Imagine Céline in it... Or them singing a similair but brand new song...

Raphaël could write a new song for their duet...

Oh my, I see I could go on and on... and on.... :D

Mylene Farmer also uses shock value in her Career just like Madonna; The song "Sans Contre Facon je suis un garcon" was a huge controversial song back in the days in France; and she has many other songs that uses the same kind of shock. She maybe is more subtle than the actual Madonna but she isn't very far from being called the French Madonna. BTW, Madonna did sing ballads just like Celine in an era in her career; the album "Something to remember" is a ballad album sang by Madonna; so basically, both Mylene and Madonna have somewhat same career paths between shock songs and different categories of music exploited like ballads/dance/electronic music etc...

Even if she don't write her songs (believe me, I want to hear her own songs), it will be a great album, with lyrics by Luc Plamondon, Jean-Pierre Ferland and Maxime Leforestier.. Any other name that you remember ?

Oh, thank you JP for this info - finally someone answered my question from my earlier post here! :D

Didn't know Luc Plamondon is writing for her again?! :wow: And the other two, they wrote a bunch of great songs too for the others so I'm pretty positive about this album now. :)

I personally, wouldn't like a duet between Celine and Mylene, I would LOVE if Mylene could write the lyrics for Celine's new album!! Her songs are, lyrically, FAR superior compared to those written by JJG. I would die if Celine would sing songs, with lyrics like "Rever", "Je te rends ton amour", 'Innamoramento", "Nous souviendrons nous", "Si j'avains au moins revu ton visage" and many more. We would be very lucky, to have lyrics like these ones in the following album. Admit it, or not, Mylene is a real poet!

One more link that says Celine will be in France from April 21 till April 30 to promote her French album.

http://www.ptitblog.net/actualites/article...-2011-5152.html

They still mention the "Hollywood theme" for the English album and the Vegas show :nono: On the other hand, the timeframe and the TV show scheduled could be very reliable. :thumbsup2:

they also mention 2 albums?!

well there are so many programmes that it's 100% sure she will be in France although it's in 3 months from now so it's high time we got some information about the album itself...

I'll die if this is true in the end!!! I've been at the doors of the Olympia in april 2010, just to take pictures of that place!! :in_love:

"Un concert événement"? That smells of a new live CD/DVD in french maybe?

I think there is too much on her plate. Are these just offers or is it confirmed that she's really going to be doing all this? I think it's too much. I understand that she has to go to Europe to promote her albums and all but does she really have to do every show that exists? Even though it doesn't seem to official, I still think that they're pushing her too much... :shy:

It wouldn't be a problem at all if in her calendar didn't say that another A New Day Part. II begins next march 15th, for the next 3 years.

A new concert in the Olympia, even though it would only be 1, worths more than the first whole year of performances in Las Vegas, because its going to be something unique. It only just happens once (same as the movie project, the jazz album, spanish album, opera project and all that).

Now, isn't she pushing herself too much but with the Vegas adventure??. The past 5-year experience proved to be exhausting and to have ruined many projects because of her engagement in the colosseum. Let's see how many more projects go to the trash can this time, even if its half the effort this time

"whole concert in french" + "Olympia hall" are two factors too explosive, a truly gift for fans :in_love:

A setlist of 20-24 songs as she's doing in her tours gives the opportunity to include MANY songs. It would be the perfect occasion to perform many of the track that have never been performed during all these years, songs from 1F&4T, D'elles, SSDA and Dion Chante Plamondon. But also she could take the chance and revive her first french songs by Eddy Marnay :w00t:

Awww I'd better stop dreaming right now. C'est n'est qu'un rêve pour le moment :P

Forgive any errors - used Google Translator

Celine Dion will come in France in April to promote her new album in French. It could even occur in concert at the Olympia on that occasion.

Celine Dion, who recently gave birth to twins, and Nelson Eddy, will travel to France to promote her new album. As she begins her new concert in Las Vegas from March 15, 2011, is next April she will be in Paris.

In fact, from April 21 to 30, 2011, Celine Dion will benefit from a break in Las Vegas to come to visit her French fans. The singer will travel to several television and radio stations such as X-Factor, Champs-Elysees, Deeply Sunday The leading journal, 6 / 9 NRJ ...

Arrival in France to promote the release of her next two albums, one French and one English. Celine Dion should also give a special concert at the Olympia on April 25 next, but we do not know yet if it will be public or private.

2 albums at the same time????

1 in English and 1 in French????

She never did that:

Between TCOML and D'eux: 1 yr, 4 mos

Between LTAL and S'ISD'A: 10 mos

Between OH and 1F4T: 7 mos

Between D'Elles and TC: 6 mos

It would be a premiere, i doubt they would do that.

Yep, the information is confusing, she will promote two albums, one in french and one in english at the same time?? Now the english album is going to be also released in spring??

This is the perfect opportunity for her to showcase the songs from the new album(s), as we can almost guarantee she won't be doing anything new in Vegas...

I hope it's aired on TV, then released on DVD!
