celinefanonline Posted February 21, 2013 at 11:55 AM Posted February 21, 2013 at 11:55 AM well the main reason for them to add those extra tracks and better quality packaging is because it's actually more expensive to buy japanese edition in japan then the imported one from USA or so!!! can u believe that!!! Quote Courage don't you dare fail me now!
Javito Posted February 21, 2013 at 11:57 AM Posted February 21, 2013 at 11:57 AM I have many different Japanese releases (not only Celine). I love these packages looks more luxurious with better colours of prints, additional booklets, OBI and one of the main reasons is much better mastering and sound against other worldwide releases. And of course they're always adding some bonus tracks because it's their standard. Well they know how to do things better! Yes, you can notice that even in the quality of the printing they use. I remember when I bought their Taking Chances 18 track edition, and the ANDHC 2008 Collectors Edition, the quality of the pictures and the package was outstanding, much much clear than the US edition. They even took the trouble to include "Superlove", originally included in the european, japanese and other editions (but not in the US), when the US and European editions failed to do so I still remember how disappointed I was when I realized that Superlove wasn't in neither the US or the European versions. What kind of incompetents they have there, that they forget to include Superlove in the European edition, when this track was originally included in the 2002 release"??? and they called that a "collectors edition"? And then we got their exclusive releases "Ultimate Box" and the "Complete Best"... they definetly know how to do things and treat their fans in SMJ 2 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
smw Posted February 21, 2013 at 11:52 PM Posted February 21, 2013 at 11:52 PM Hi all, I believe the performance of "Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour" on Tout le monde en parle is among the best performances of the SANS ATTENDRE era. It's so simple, yet epic. It's a reminder to us all that it's not just Celine's BIG voice that got her to where she is. She can convey emotion simply and beautifully. Does anyone know where I can get an MP3 of this performance? And other LIVE performances from the SANS ATTENDRE promotional tour? Here's that performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ChsXqRoTmE 3 Quote

Edited March 8, 2013 at 03:56 PM by rael1983 Quote

wjd Posted March 8, 2013 at 04:40 PM Posted March 8, 2013 at 04:40 PM To be fair, I also thought Sans attendre would sell only 500,000 copies. But the fact that it has shipped 1m copies between only TWO countries [France - 750,000 & Canada - 250,000] speaks volumes for how this has outperformed almost everybody's initial expectations. I stand firm in my long-term view that whilst he hasn't been perfect - Las Vegas for a decade is far too much - Rene Angelil is the most accomplished manager in music of the last 25 years. 1 Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?
Javito Posted March 8, 2013 at 05:31 PM Posted March 8, 2013 at 05:31 PM And still some people will doubt that René has a BIG say in the record label? With this continued success, both Céline and René have Sony Music at their feet! They just don't take advantage of all they could do The thing with the US market is just absurd. Why they haven't released the album there since the start? I'm curious if there's any additional stuff from "Sans Attendre" recording sessions which still remains unreleased? Of course there is. At least, a great bunch of songs by Luc Plamondon are there, since he delivered songs to make a new Dion chante Plamondon album according to him. But surely there are some others apart from these, keep in mind that they were picking songs for Sans Attendre since 2010, so surely she received more (though maybe they were not recorded). mike_z Posted March 8, 2013 at 05:46 PM Posted March 8, 2013 at 05:46 PM Let's be content with the song choices! It's what made the album that successful! "Les Petits Pieds de Lea" was an unsuspected success on iTunes and YouTube. A song nobody would have put their fingers on. PAMP didn't promise at all, and ended up being one of Céline longest-running singles on the french chart! "SANS ATTENDRE" is still selling and yeah, it could be certified for 1 million if they continue promoting it. I hope René is still ambitious. Like those days when Dion Chante Plamondon got promotion during 3 years! Late US release included Quote
Javito Posted March 8, 2013 at 05:50 PM Posted March 8, 2013 at 05:50 PM (edited) But Renés interview has more meaning than it seems, the good sales of the french album can change their weak vision in recorded music that they seem to have these days. The outstanding performance of Sans Attendre has proven that people is still interested in buying Céline's albums, and that she can still have a profitable career selling albums and recording music, not only performing concerts (like they mainly seem to be focused these days). I really hope René and the team @ Sony have realized about this, and that they take advantage of it. This is good for everyone, Céline makes money selling CDs, Sony makes money, and fans are happy. More albums in the future are at stake, and the frequency of time between them Let's hope they have realized the power she has yet and that there isn't another 6 year gap between one album and another! anewdayhascome Posted March 8, 2013 at 09:17 PM Posted March 8, 2013 at 09:17 PM (edited) I really hope that this change will be significant. But if they are really surprised with SA and postpone the English album because of it. why the hell they are waiting so long to release a single? QPVSA could have been on the radios already at the end of January. I thought that we would get the 4th single for the summer but now I doubt that.of course, the promo tour helped the album and it's good to know that Rene has realised it but still the promo tour shouldn't be the end of promotion! and they should realise it too Edited March 8, 2013 at 09:17 PM by anewdayhascome Quote A New Day... 10th & 11th November 2006 Taking Chances World Tour, Antwerp 13th & 14th May 2008, Kraków 28th June 2008 Celine 25th & 27th & 31st August 2013 20th, 23rd, 24th, 27th & 28th September 2016 Sans attendre Tour, Paris 1st & 5th December 2013 Encore un soir, Paris 24th, 25th, 28th, 29th June & 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 9th July 2016 Live 2017 Stockholm 17th June 2017 Lille 1st & 2nd July 2017 Paris 8th & 9th July 2017 Berlin 23rd & 24th July 2017 Live 2018 Taipei 11th & 13th July 2018 Manila 19th July 2018 Bangkok 23rd July 2018 BST Hyde Park London 5 July 2019
