Tyler1991 Posted May 10, 2010 at 01:09 AM Posted May 10, 2010 at 01:09 AM Look at the whistle notes she did in Its a Man's World and RDMH all across Europe, Why didnt they use those , but NOOOOOO instead they use the ones where she doesnt put anything extra into the performances. I will never get them. Well they only had the full production crew at Boston and Montreal, so the footage wouldn't be as good if they took the best performances for different cities. As far as I'm concerned we've been spoilt with this tour. We've got videos on YouTube from every concert so we know that there are better nights. Where as in the 90s and Vegas people were happy with what they got as there was very little to compare them to. Lol, Celine never hit any whistle notes in any live performance or studio recording for her entire career. Nor has she came even close (in IAMW). She was half an octave short of achieving that, even on the best performances. Quote

Celine2011 Posted May 10, 2010 at 04:11 AM Posted May 10, 2010 at 04:11 AM My package is in San Jose, gotta get to San Diego!! Hopefully getting by Tuesday then make my way to Best Buy and get TTEOTW! And guys there has been a lot of complaining about it,but I havent seen it yet and Im sure its great!! Not once has one of her DVDS been horrible! They have all been very good and showed a typical night of the show which is great! We all wanted this for a long time and now we have it, so stop complaining, its better than nothing right? So the packaging may be cheaper, but its still nice, its different, and the booklet is the last thing to worry about, its just supposed to give the song credits, and some pictures. Quote

sassymolassee Posted May 10, 2010 at 09:30 AM Posted May 10, 2010 at 09:30 AM Hi all, Sorry for starting another thread on the topic of these latest releases, but after reading through the first 15 pages of the current thread and not finding my answer, and not being able to even think of which keywords might yield some decent results in the search function, I decided to see if you could please perhaps just quickly and concisely answer the following… Are there any differences in the content of the English and French versions of the "Through The Eyes Of The World" DVD? (scenes, language options, subtitles, bonus features, etc.)I had seen and therefore marked on my calendar that it was supposed to be released on May 11th—and I figured this meant "worldwide" (or at least US/Canada), but a friend of mine told me he had seen it in stores already. So I went shopping today, and all I found were French editions everywhere I went with French covers (i.e. Céline : Autour du monde and Céline : Taking Chances Tournée Mondiale—Le Spectacle). I figured this was because it was released in Canada only using French covers with "Le Spectacle", but everywhere else as "The Concert"—i.e., I thought internationally the content was the same, just different packaging. But after a bit of Internet searching and reading on Celine's official site (yeah I know, shame on me for not even knowing all this information beforehand! lol), I found out that the French edition of "Le Spectacle" is actually a French set-list from a Montreal concert, while the English "The Concert" is an English set-list from a Boston concert. So that got me wondering the above question in bold, since if there are differences between the English and French versions of the CD/DVD combo that maybe the content of the behind-the-scenes DVD was different depending on the language version also… Is it worth purchasing both the French and English versions of "The Concert"/"Le Spectacle" CD/DVD combo?I've done some reading in the so-called "complaining thread" and, as mentioned above, the first 15 pages of the current whopper 45-page thread on the CD/DVD combo, so have learned that apparently the English tracks on both releases are identical such that neither recording is completely from Boston or Montreal and that there have been post-concert overdubs or re-recordings. Going under my original impression that each CD/DVD was from a different concert, I was planning on getting both, but now I'm kind of on the fence. What do you think? I sort of wish that the English and French set-lists would have been released as 1 set rather than 2, since even 100% non-French speaking people appreciate Céline's French repertoire, but now that there ARE 2 distinct releases, I'm not sure whether it's worth getting 2 almost identical sets. So to sum it all up, Is "Through The Eyes Of The World" different from "Autour Du Monde" in any way and Should I buy both language versions of "The Concert" CD/DVD combo? Oh, and one more: do you guys think/know if the tracks on the "QVC bonus-disc" will be released later on anywhere else such as iTunes or even in some "Special Edition"? I'm not a fan of record companies making fans "double-dip", so to speak, which they ARE sort of doing already with this French/English separate release, but at the same time I like to have as much official Celine audio as possible… Thanks in advance! celinemaniac07 Posted May 10, 2010 at 09:57 AM Posted May 10, 2010 at 09:57 AM So one more day til the big US release of the concert and the documentary! For those that have not seen any videos from the dvd concert I have to say you are in for a HUGE treat. We all know the complaints so let me let you know the big positive. I have watched..I Drove all Night, Power of Lover, IACBTMN, Eyes on Me, Alone, Fade Away, LCMM, RDMH...and let me tell you...its fantastic! I was worried at first...but after watching these videos..it IS celines best concert release..atleast in the top 3. Its fantastic from what I have seen, I wont have the dvd until tuesday, but I am extremley excited. What an amazing filming job they are done...the visuals and the camera angles are very well done. A few I will nitpick about at some point im sure..and after I watch the DVD on the big tv, but so far I love everything I have seen! One more day! Cant wait! Quote

Don't fool yourself or your wallet! After all you buy the official dvd and cd so you can do with it what you want! browseceline Posted May 10, 2010 at 11:56 AM Posted May 10, 2010 at 11:56 AM oh and sassymolassee; if you want the French songs too, buy the concert in French as well. From What i read on celinedion.nl , the dutch celinedionfanclub, the dvd autour du monde does not make any difference in the French version, except that it is completely in french;-)so if you are someone who likes to collect things and put them on a shelf in a glass cabinet, do so , but if you also care about your wallet, then don't ! haha for the movie I think the best thing to do is , is buy it in bluray, if you have a blurayplayer. Timster Posted May 10, 2010 at 03:24 PM Posted May 10, 2010 at 03:24 PM My mum told me that another birthday present had arrived from Play.com, so I went into her wardrobe and had a look. Like TTEOTW, it wasn't sealed, but had tape on it! It was really annoying with TCWT because it's glossy and the tape left a faint mark on the front cover. Why can't they just seal these things in cellophane?! Apart from this the DVD/CD package looks really nice!! Quote
