And OMG Cant Believe Celine Went on the rock 'n' roller coaster ( well by the looks of it anyway ) That Ride is SO fun! The interview Was great , nice to hear some new stuff, she has such a way with words Quote
joaofilho Posted April 22, 2010 at 04:03 PM Posted April 22, 2010 at 04:03 PM I think she is risking a lot in trying to re-record ballads, in the current market does not succeed as before, they are afraid to venture into other styles, Taking Chances masi despite the hit rock n 'roll and is also a ballad. I do not agree with what they are taking the career of Celine did not, yes she is known for ballads, masi what they have done nothing to change that, she needs to reinvent itself more by what I read in the same interview she does not want. I'm worried about what will come. Quote

Fran Posted April 22, 2010 at 04:04 PM Posted April 22, 2010 at 04:04 PM I can’t believe she actually spoke more about music than usual in this interview. I think after not mentioning RC for 5 min straight she quickly had to take Miracle Babies Anne Geddes Cookbook out of her bag and stare at it luridly to calm herself down. Oh and btw, Celione, your self titled album is your best and most exquisite English one. So yes, stick to what you can do the best, dear. And I’ll be more than happy. The first true reply from you I read from years !!! Get back that 3 year old photo there, Fran!Your wish is my command! Quote

I don't think her vocals are as good here compared as other songs she sings. I wouldn't say it's any worse than the AND DVD though. I think we've just accepted that IA will always sound nasal. This video was the same one that was in TTEOTW. It's a mix of Boston and Montreal, as Aaron (the bald dancer) was not in the Montreal shows, but the beginning definately was from Montreal as the audience could go right up to the platform. Usually Aaron gives Celine a high five as he goes up to the platform, but in this video it was another dancer, but then a few seconds later it switches to Boston footage with Aaron doing the somersault. I wonder if every song is a mix of Boston and Montreal? If so there might not be much difference between the English/French DVDs, apart from the songs only performed in Boston/Montreal of course! Glad to hear that she's going back to the ballads, so in,ove with them! Love TC too, so I'm hoping for a mix with mostely ballads but a few TC style songs, especially like FA, SOL and TT!!! Can't wait to late 2010/early 2011!!! Quote

celinesounds Posted April 22, 2010 at 05:00 PM Posted April 22, 2010 at 05:00 PM (edited) Interesting to note though that Celine herself doesn't think she has a lot of uptempo songs when of course the truth is she does. It's just that they are never released as singles or performed live. Imagine if you will an album or a concert full of the following uptempo songs that Celine has in her back catalogue: - If Love Is Out The Question- Misled- Lovin' Proof - Declaration of Love- Just A Little Bit Of Love- That's The Way It Is- A New Day Has Come- Right In Front Of You- Ten Days- Sorry For Love- When The Wrong One Loves You Right- One Heart- Naked- Reveal- Coulda Woulda Shoulda- You And I- Shadow Of Love- Fade Away- Can't Fight The Feeling and I haven't even touched upon her French albums. The up tempo songs ARE there but for whatever reason outside of the trusted trio of "Love Can Move Mountains", "I'm Alive" and "I Drove All Night" none of them are even looked at. I think it's interesting to note that from the interview it's almost as if Celine's accepted that she's tried a few new things and it still hasn't gotten her back onto the (singles) charts and now she's going back to what she knows and loves. Which is absolutely fine with me. Ballads and love songs can still work on the charts and radio, they just need to be the right type of ballad or love songs - think "Bleeding Love" and not "Goodbye's The Saddest Word." It would be a great show number Refuse To Dance - as Opening Number, I love the way she performed the song on TCOML DVD also there are many ballads to sing like If you asked me toOnly one roadNothing broken but my heartWater From The moonWhen I fall In loveAmar Haciendo el amor - it work well in place of a Spanish numberJust walk awayWhere is the loveThe ReasonCall the manIn His Touch and many more Edited April 22, 2010 at 05:00 PM by celinesounds Quote #FREEJAVITO

Javito Posted April 22, 2010 at 06:47 PM Posted April 22, 2010 at 06:47 PM (edited) I'm not either impressed by that IA video. As I already said, if the video we have seen of TPOL is going to remain that way (which was impressive), we're going to notice a lot of contrast between some songs... (those which were in fact "live" and those which were re-recorded ) But there's one other slightly less obvious reason why "I'm Alive" is an irreplaceable part of her concert repertoire: "I don't have a lot of other uptempo songs on top of that," she admits. LMAO I knew you would take the trouble to write down a comprehensive list of all her uptempo tracks through her discography!! You're so funny My guess is that she never takes a look at her own CD's to check what songs she did record in the past, so she doesn't know which songs are in Unison or TCOML today What's more, I bet she never looks at her albums, unless she is given them to sign! Celine has a lot upbeat songs and ballads. Shaun mentioned some upbeat songs, but there's even more , much more, quality or not , but she has it , by the way we can talk about their quality. She is always untruth about her music. She lies about her music style, because she tries to convince everybody that she recorded only power ballads, that she doesn't need to change her style, like she never done, and she needs to continue with that. Why then in French she recorded only three power ballads( "Le Blues Du Businessman". "L'amour Existe Encore", "Et s'il n'en Restait Qu'ne")? none of them even closer to her English melodramatic, kitsch power ballads . If she never changed her style, if it's true that she is only ballads singer as she tries to persuade us, I would never have listened Celine Dion music Yes it's true , that she constantly changing herself trough French music, you know different genres and different lyrics to, as it's true that she recorded to much stupid- trash shallow ballads in English, but because she stressed this type of songs to much, instead of others types, she even convinced herself, that she doesn't have something different. She feels safer in that way. Celine thinks if she recorded more ballads, she will sells more albums. More ballads- more money Why then she doesn't do that with French albums? But, when the time of concerts comes, she has a big problem. Celine face the truth. She is then completely aware of the lack of quality of her English albums, that's why she usually choose songs from other singers, instead more her own, like she did on her taking chances tour. From this Yahoo interview it seems Celine continues as usual to makes mistakes, but it's simple, she only needs to record something interesting, good, artistic, something that leads to thinking, quality music as her French albums nothing more Quote

I understand why they changed it, cos the old version was quite slow, and I think it was a good idea, but the actual arrangement they chose made it a poor vocal performance, cos it was too fast and the way she sang a lot of the lines changed completely.
