celine4evauk Posted April 3, 2010 at 08:32 PM Posted April 3, 2010 at 08:32 PM I think having an orchestra is a brilliant idea. Something i've wanted for ages - and hopefully a show that will focus more on Celine's voice. Just cos she'll have an orchestra doesn't mean they'll be playing all instruments on all songs. Some songs (i would think) will be mainly Celine's band and perhaps adding a section or 2 of the orchestra. So some songs that wouldn't work with a full orchestra, can still work. Depends on which songs they choose. And i also hope they update MHWGO - bring the beauty of the song, film, and voice back again, and show people why that song was so successful. Debbie, Are you going to try to make it to Vegas?? I'm going to the premiere and probably again in June with my friends from Stockton-on-Tees.... Not sure who I'm taking to premiere tho but it is a year away so who knows.. Hi Robin, Sorry for delay in replying. Had big trouble with my computer and have only just come back on here. I've missed soooo much!!! I'm hoping to go to LV at some point next year. Have no idea when though at the mo. Probably during the final shows late on in the year. Will want details from you!! Quote
pat200 Posted April 3, 2010 at 09:23 PM Posted April 3, 2010 at 09:23 PM Anyone expecting more than one french song in the show is up for a big surprise. I really hope she sings some classic songs that she hasn't done before. Over the Rainbow in a new approach (not 1985 one) would be great. It would also be fun if she changed the setlist every year. That way we get new songs and they could add the early versions as bonus on the show's eventual DVD. Quote

Brody-Celine Posted April 8, 2010 at 03:50 PM Posted April 8, 2010 at 03:50 PM (edited) Well this has been fascinating reading through everyone's set lists . Im not sure what id like to hear since it will be my (FIRST )time seeing celine . it would be nice to get a good set list. Id love to hear more than one french song , My choices would be :• Pour Que tu M’aimes Encore• Destin• Regarde-Moi OR Dans Un Autre Monde• Je sais pas• On ne change pas Hollywood Movie songs id like to hear• Somewhere over the rainbow ( wizard of oz)• There you’ll Be ( Pearl Harbour)• Somewhere ( west side story ) • ( Maybe ) *The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Music ( the sound of music ) hmmm...Cant really think of any more English List :• The power of love • Think twice• Because you loved me • Its all coming back to me now• Then you look at me• Live For the one I love• River Deep mountain high• Im alive• Alone• All by my self• Taking chances• Prayer• A new Day• I Have to Dream ( Unreleasesd track )• I Drove All night• My Heart Will Go On – Is a MUST *cough * *Live* , Its Celines Biggest Hit , and the one most people recognise her by and I wouldn’t want to travel all the way from England to Las vegas and not hear it , it would be such a shame! My List could go on but some songs may not fit in with the show lol Edited April 8, 2010 at 03:51 PM by Brody-Celine Quote
cmcdaori Posted April 9, 2010 at 10:24 AM Posted April 9, 2010 at 10:24 AM (edited) As there will be an orchestra, I hope she does songs like 'Then You Look At Me' and 'Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)' I agree completely.Especially for the Goodbye's Here's my setlist: 1. Declaration of Love2. I Drove All Night3. You and I4. Taking Chances• Costume change, instrumental with clips from Celine’s career 1980 - 2010 • French Medley (all songs shortened)5. Ce n'était qu'un rêve6. D'amour ou d'amitié7. L’amour existe encore 8. S’il suffisait d’aimer9. Pour que tu m’aimes encore • English Medley (all songs shortened)10. The Power of Love11. Beauty and the Beast (with Barnev)12. Because You Loved Me13. It’s All Coming Back To Me Now14. My Heart Will Go On • Costume change 15. River Deep Mountain High (with TCWT intro)17. Unison18. Love Can Move Mountains (extended version, Celine introduces band members)• Hollywood Movie Medley (with clips from the films on screen)19. ??20. ??21. ??22. ??• Costume change 23. All By Myself 24. Call The Man25. La diva26. Then You Look At Me • Costume change 27. A Song For You28. The Power of The Dream As much as I would LOVE to hear Celine sing 28 songs again, there is no way Caesars Palace would ever allow this. The show will have to run at 90 minutes. A song I think could work beautifully in a show such as the one coming up is Céline's version of "Alone." It's much more orchestral than Heart's original. It would be amazing! I dont agree with this list.Celine has so much better songs than Barbra and others,so first i think that there is no need to sing songs from others, second, this list is old-fashioned and it has been sung for million times.Let's hear other celine's rhythmic songs like Tour l'or des hommes,A cause,Femme comme un chacun,Reveal,Je lui dirai,Rain, tax and so on.Actually be based on albums like d'elles,1fille&4types,but not on those older ballads anymore or esp miracle which is a real album of lullabies.People wouldnt be coming to the show in order to sleep, but for real fun.Sorry Tim,i meant generally, not ur list as ur list(i took it as example)cuz i see that many people want to hear just older songs which became so boring and not interesting somehow.I respect it all,but it became so old-fashioned Edited April 9, 2010 at 10:27 AM by cmcdaori Quote Thank u Jesus. Im in ur hands now.

Whether animated, comedy or romantic tales of tragic love, Celine has contributed to the soundtracks of several major films. She has lent her voice to the soundtracks of animated films with songs like "Beauty and the Beast" (duet with Peabo Bryson) from the Disney movie of the same name, and "The Prayer" (duet with Andrea Bocelli ) in the film Quest for Camelot. And don't forget the soundtrack to the movie Stuart Little 3 with "I'm Alive". Her ballads "When I Fall In Love" (duet with Clive Griffin) from the movie Sleepless in Seattle, "Because You Loved Me" from the movie Up Close and Personal and "My Heart Will Go On " from the movie Titanic are all now cult love songs. CSCfan Posted April 19, 2010 at 02:20 PM Posted April 19, 2010 at 02:20 PM We would like the fans' voice to be heard, so that's why the Dutch Céline fanclub has come up with a special opportunity! At the moment we're compiling the fans' wishes for songs in the new show. We will then send this to Céline's team and let them know what we think and love to hear/see in the show! If you want to join in, this is what you have to do: Compile 2 Top 5's of songs you would like to hear/see in the show. The first Top 5 should be composed of Céline's own songs (previous soundtracks sung by Céline should also be put in this Top 5 and MHWGO is ommitted, as it's a given this song will definately be performed). The 2nd Top 5 is composed of (classic) movie soundtracks. Also remember that the show will feature an orchestra...so what songs would fit this best? Send both Top 5's before April 30th to actie @ celinedion.nl (without the spaces)! After that, we will compile a Top 10 of each category and send it to Céline's team. Let's get our voice heard!! ladylindsey Posted April 19, 2010 at 06:19 PM Posted April 19, 2010 at 06:19 PM I just don't really understand this whole Hollywood films songs theme. The more I think about it, the more I don't want it to "date" Céline. When I think of Vegas I think of upbeat, bright lights, thriving culture. And there is A New Day in my head of course, to compare everything to, which is unfortunate. When I think of Hollywood movie theme songs, I think of slow, not up-tempo, songs I don't like...or don't care about hearing haha! I guess when I see Céline, I want to SEE Céline and not covers of songs, etc. I don't know. Just thinking out loud This is like her sophomore album. She's done the AND show and it was a-mazing! I am so glad she's going back but I want it to be just as successful or more! Quote
Claudette Posted April 19, 2010 at 06:31 PM Posted April 19, 2010 at 06:31 PM Wonder if she'll do some songs from ''Grease''... Isn't Olivia Newton-John one of Celine's idols or something? Anyway, I like the idea. I'll have to think about it too. Quote http://i993.photobucket.com/albums/af51/ClaudetteRobinson/esme.jpg

Cheerfuljane Posted April 19, 2010 at 11:34 PM Posted April 19, 2010 at 11:34 PM Lindsey: I've been wondering the same thing. What gets me is the "classic" part. That makes me think of the old black and white films That would certainly "date" her, as you say. I love ABBA It would be so great if she did one of their songs. Quote
ed_levy22 Posted April 20, 2010 at 02:50 AM Posted April 20, 2010 at 02:50 AM I'm not so sure whether we'll get to see Celine singing Whitney Houston's songs: even though it would sound amazing (greater than the original ones I suppose), a great singer would never sing another great singer song - especilly because they were competitors for some time. Celine wouldn't do it to Whitney.. all in all I believe it's a bit risky, "I'll always love you" is as Whitney' as "My heart will go on" is Celine's... and we do know how we'd hate if we heard of Houston singing the last one - it just wouldn't be ok.
