I think having an orchestra is a brilliant idea. Something i've wanted for ages - and hopefully a show that will focus more on Celine's voice. Just cos she'll have an orchestra doesn't mean they'll be playing all instruments on all songs. Some songs (i would think) will be mainly Celine's band and perhaps adding a section or 2 of the orchestra. So some songs that wouldn't work with a full orchestra, can still work. Depends on which songs they choose. And i also hope they update MHWGO - bring the beauty of the song, film, and voice back again, and show people why that song was so successful.

Are you going to try to make it to Vegas?? I'm going to the premiere and probably again in June with my friends from Stockton-on-Tees.... Not sure who I'm taking to premiere tho but it is a year away so who knows..

Sorry for delay in replying. Had big trouble with my computer and have only just come back on here. I've missed soooo much!!!

Anyone expecting more than one french song in the show is up for a big surprise.

 

I really hope she sings some classic songs that she hasn't done before. Over the Rainbow in a new approach (not 1985 one) would be great.

 

It would also be fun if she changed the setlist every year. That way we get new songs and they could add the early versions as bonus on the show's eventual DVD.

which i thought it would be so cool if celine would do like that

Well this has been fascinating reading through everyone's set lists . Im not sure what id like to hear since it will be my (FIRST )time seeing celine . it would be nice to get a good set list.

 

Id love to hear more than one french song , My choices would be :

As much as I would LOVE to hear Celine sing 28 songs again, there is no way Caesars Palace would ever allow this. The show will have to run at 90 minutes.

 

A song I think could work beautifully in a show such as the one coming up is Céline's version of "Alone." It's much more orchestral than Heart's original. It would be amazing!

 

I dont agree with this list.Celine has so much better songs than Barbra and others,so first i think that there is no need to sing songs from others,second,this list is old-fashioned and it has been sung for million times.Let's hear other celine's rhythmic songs like Tour l'or des hommes,A cause,Femme comme un chacun,Reveal,Je lui dirai,Rain,tax and so on.Actually be based on albums like d'elles,1fille&4types,but not on those older ballads anymore or esp miracle which is a real album of lullabies.People wouldnt be coming to the show in order to sleep,but for real fun.Sorry Tim,i meant generally,not ur list as ur list(i took it as example)cuz i see that many people want to hear just older songs which became so boring and not interesting somehow.I respect it all,but it became so old-fashioned

We would like the fans' voice to be heard, so that's why the Dutch Céline fanclub has come up with a special opportunity!

 

At the moment we're compiling the fans' wishes for songs in the new show. We will then send this to Céline's team and let them know what we think and love to hear/see in the show!

 

If you want to join in, this is what you have to do:

 

Compile 2 Top 5's of songs you would like to hear/see in the show. The first Top 5 should be composed of Céline's own songs (previous soundtracks sung by Céline should also be put in this Top 5 and MHWGO is ommitted, as it's a given this song will definately be performed). The 2nd Top 5 is composed of (classic) movie soundtracks.

 

Also remember that the show will feature an orchestra...so what songs would fit this best?

 

Send both Top 5's before April 30th to actie @ celinedion.nl (without the spaces)!

After that, we will compile a Top 10 of each category and send it to Céline's team.

I just don't really understand this whole Hollywood films songs theme.

 

 

The more I think about it, the more I don't want it to "date" Céline. When I think of Vegas I think of upbeat, bright lights, thriving culture. And there is A New Day in my head of course, to compare everything to, which is unfortunate. When I think of Hollywood movie theme songs, I think of slow, not up-tempo, songs I don't like...or don't care about hearing haha!

 

I guess when I see Céline, I want to SEE Céline and not covers of songs, etc. I don't know. Just thinking out loud

 

This is like her sophomore album. She's done the AND show and it was a-mazing! I am so glad she's going back but I want it to be just as successful or more!

I'm not so sure whether we'll get to see Celine singing Whitney Houston's songs: even though it would sound amazing (greater than the original ones I suppose), a great singer would never sing another great singer song - especilly because they were competitors for some time. Celine wouldn't do it to Whitney.. all in all I believe it's a bit risky, "I'll always love you" is as Whitney' as "My heart will go on" is Celine's... and we do know how we'd hate if we heard of Houston singing the last one - it just wouldn't be ok.
