TLYM is my favorite Celine song :wub: :wub: , so I always miss it when it's not included. I also think that certain songs can be given a break here & there. Although with the full orchestra the song would've been amazing, however they'd need to do the entire song, not a shorten version of it. It's a very well known song to Celine fans, even though it wasn't a big hit in the US (only because Sony just threw it out there with no support) :confused: . I think casual fans really enjoy it a lot, it's impressive.

I was floored when she did "Think Twice" during the London show I attended on the TC tour, it was awesome but US audiences won't know the song. They'd know "If You Asked Me To" much better.

As I said, the show will be tweaked here & there but they are looking for things that will go over well for a broad audience - not us hard core fans. Besides not everyone will be 100% happy no matter what.

Wouldn't a show just for us, with songs WE pick, be awesome!!! :clap:

I didn't realize it wasn't in the set list until you pointed that out! I guess that's how necessary it is....

And yes, this show is surely about the songs Céline herself like. But also mixed with the previous plans of a movie themed show (Bond medley + How Do You Keep The Music Playing + BATB). But if it's really about Céline, if that's the new theme I say leave the Bond medley out and put in some more of her favs. Haven't she said she is a huge Annie Lennox fan? Why not a song of hers?

Funny story: when the intro of ''All By Myself'' started playing I was like ''What song is this? It is a big song, what is it's name?'' Then I clicked about after 30-40 seconds that it is ''All By Myself''. :doh:

Not very fanlike of me, right? :laugh:

I am now confused, are we talking about To Love You More? that was a humongous hit in the US, spent like 17 weeks at #1.

excuse me, I am from the US and I do. It was on one of her very first albums. Perhaps "casual fans" as you refer to it may not, but her US hard-core fans do know that song.

A song should not be considered a hit for what impact it had on charts when it came out, but rather how it is remembered 15-20 years later. Fact is, nobody remembers nor cares about this song anymore. That is why I don't consider it a hit.

Well we're all entitled to our opinions and mine is to disagree and I feel many other fans would as well. A lot of fans adore :wub: the song and enjoy when she performs it. Hey, we ALL can't love EVERY song she does, right??

I love the song to. But that love for the song can not interfere with the simple logic behind the fact that it is not a big enough hit to be a requirement in every show.

Unless I missed it, I don't recall reading that anyone said the song is a MUST at every show. They and I just said it's a great song and it's awesome when she includes it in her live shows. That can really be said for almost any of her songs with the exception of "Because You Loved me" and "MHWGO" & maybe a few others.

Anyway, back on topic..she may add it later on or not but we know the show will evolve over the years! I'll def be going back to see it! :clap:

That's not true. It's still considered one of Celine's greatest around the world.

The only songs that can be recalled by an average person would be - WDMHBN, ABM, IACBTMN, BYLM, TPOL, MHWGO, TTWII, and maybe BATB. That's it.

TLYM had success in it's time. But like many hits (by many artists), once its time was done, it fell into mediocrity and nobody remembered it. With no recurrent airplay, it's not much of a hit in this time.

TLYM is to Japan what TT is to Europe, and despite the fact that there was some minimal success in the USA with TLYM, it's no much more of a hit here than Think Twice is.

Don't get me wrong, I love all of the achievements Celine has had on the AC chart, but as is said about Adult Contemporary stations..."....it's where pop songs go to die a slow and painful death...." So while it was success as Adult Contemporary, it failed to even chart on the Hot 100 (something even Think Twice managed to do).

Once again, past charts and success is great then, but irrelevant now. The song may still be popular in some countries, but here nobody knows that song at all.

No, it's really not. What is rubbish though is how people use an irrelevant charting from 13 some years ago as a defense to the song being a hit. Sorry, but that doesn't make the song a hit TODAY if it's not hardly remembered. Nothing Broken But My Heart achieved much of the same success on charts as well, but we all don't consider that a hit now do we??

What makes songs like BYLM, TPOL, IACBTMN, MHWGO, TTWII, and WDMHBN hits is that 15 years after their releases they still: receive recurrent airplay and are remembered by both fans and non-fans alike.

I'm sure TLYM gets airplay in the places it was a mega-hit, but that isn't here. And while it may be remembered by fans, non-fans won't pick this song out like they would one of the songs above.

Think about it this way: Mariah Carey has 18 #1 hits. How many of them do you know?? Probably not very many. Despite having so many hits, almost all of them are completely forgettable to the general demographic. Thinking about this w/ Mariah would be much better/easier to understand because of course there will be this bias w/ Celine that you wouldn't have with Mariah seeing as you are huge fans of her. Your knowledge of Mariah would be comparable to that of the average persons of Celine..... it just goes to show that just because something was a hit doesn't mean anything 20 years later unless it is remembered.

In my opinion TLYN is unnecessary at the show, she can't do the same songs for her all life

look to the bright side she bring back WDMHBN maybe later she may brings other songs like Nothing Broken but my heart, only one road, immortality, Any other way of maybe more up temp songs like Refuse to dance or Misled

After to complain many times I want to believe she wants to do something deferent and brings back other songs

1-All By Myself needs to be cut. The lights during that part were embarrassing.

2-There should be more theatricality. This space was designed for stage manipulation and has the capabilities for some outstanding visuals. And, as it stands, this show could tour. And that's not a compliment. There should be elements to the show that make it ONLY PERFORMABLE IN THIS SPACE. Otherwise, there is no reason for millions of people to travel to her when the show could easily travel to them. I completely LOVE that this show is more "Old Vegas" -- and I love that it's more focused on Celine and her voice. But I want theatricality in the form of more fluid transitions and use of space. Just a modern version of old Vegas.

3-There was not enough rehearsal time. And it's obvious. I think the show WILL BE fantastic. But it should have been fantastic on opening night.

I would like to ask questiosn regardingthese points...

1-Why were the lights embarrassing?

2-Good point actually A New Day.. clouldn't travel this obviously can. Shame it's in vegas, but I never need an excuse to go. Just money LOL! But maybe becasue it's "old sty;e Vegas" that it fits here?

3-A lot of opening nights of concerts seem to change slightly after. Maybe needs tweeking when they know how a live nightly auidience reacts?

Oh and I TOTALLY agree regarding the final songs coming straight from Taking Chances. Add to that the annoying LCMM it's like the same ending. Surley sonmething different could have been done?? MHWGO will always be the final song, anmd I suppose that's OK. Shame they didn't change it to the opening like Celine wanted originally.

TLYM really is a fan fav' IMO. The general public won't pick on that as a must see song in concert. The fans (a lot, not all) probably would. I personally would love LCMM to be removed forever! But a lot of fans love it. I'm glad I'm Alive is missing this time round, but if more uptempo songs get added that will be the first one in. ANOTHER track straight from A New Day... and the Taking Chances tour... :rolleyes1:
