Celine on Larry King - Feb 15, 2010

i'm worried that Celine will have only a half hour of the show. if thats the case i will be very depressed for a long time.

 

Well if that's the case, I can guarentee you will be depressed. I don't watch Larry King but I'm assuming it is very very very rare for him to spend even 30 minutes on one subject. It would be like the Tonight show where they go through multiple things.

I agree. I don't watch him either, but the YT videos I've seen, interviews on advantage have ranged between 5-15 mins.

I just saw a commercial on CNN saying that Celine will be on Larry King Live this Monday!! Here's his official CNN website.http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/larry.king.live/ She's not on the schedule yet, but if they're promoting it, then it'll be on quite soon I presume.

 

In a way, it makes sense because his studio is in NYC and that's where she is getting her fertility treatments done. Nonetheless, this is going to be great. Larry loves Celine. He's had her on air several times since 1998 I think. Just for nostalgic purposes, here is her performance of MHWGO in 2002, a year after 9/11.

I wouldn't mind BYLM if it was the full version (something we haven't had in 12 years). BYLM does have good vocals in it.

 

And MHWGO wouldn't be bad considering we haven't had a live performance of it in more than 2 years and a full length live performance of it in 8 years.

Um, yeah...actually I did say that. And what are you talking about?? Six years?? She hasn't done the full song in ELEVEN years....and we have a whopping ONE live performance of MHWGO with live high notes in the last SEVEN years. To make matters worse, even that was shortened. When is the last time the ENTIRE thing has been live? LK and WCD - 8 years ago.

 

Now, I'd hate for either of these to be lipped/shortened because that is always the case and makes for a complete waste....but a full length live performance would be something new.

 

LCMM is the song people should be complaining about. Always performed at every event....World Music Awards, Today 2003, Touched By An Angel, Oprah 1998, A Gift Of Song, Live 8, Air Canada Party, ATW Special, Vegas Special....

 

Unlike LCMM, the other two have some sort of vocal skill involved.

Not necessarily. Over the years, I've seen Céline many times on Larry King for a full hour and there wasn't always performances. As for other singers, sometime they do perform, many time they don't and there is just an interview(and clips from past performances and/or the upcoming movie in this case). We'll see. Either way, I like when Céline is on Larry King and I know I'll enjoy seeing her tomorrow night whatever was planned. I feel very lucky seeing her that often lately.

She could sing something amazingly classic, such as Summertime (as she did on the JL telethon in 2006). That was extremely fresh and new! And completely unexpected! Not to mention the mountains of songs from her own albums that the general public have no clue exist!

 

Also - for those of you who say that Larry King never spends an hour on one subject....you're incredibly wrong. I watch his program all the time - and big subjects or popular people DO in fact get the entire hour.

Yes, I'm watching it too. Larry King is suppose to be on now, but instead there is news on. Huge train crash in Belgium. But I think that the one with Celine is suppose to be on tomorrow in our time zones though.
