Yeah, that sounds about right. Notice how surprisingly short that Setlist is though. No water from the moon or with this tear. I am suspicious of many of the setlists on that website anyway, and I know for a fact, a couple of them are wrong.

that NBBMH performance has been lost for a long time, i remember reading in one of the threads that someone had it but they unfortunately lost it.

I’d say that 1992 clip of DMQS is live, it sounds slightly different than the track I wonder about If You Asked Me To. I think it’s reasonable to say that it was probably lipped for at least most or all of the 1992 tour but without footage, we don’t know. If you ask me to track sounds a tad more like 1993, but when has she ever began randomly lipping something halfway through a tour? We do know WDMHBN was lipped for the entire tour and most dates she opened for Michael Bolton prior. Would also love a complete with this tear performance.

So! Apparently Céline performed the song If You Could See Me Now during her shows at L’agora du Vieux Port in Quebec. She performed two concerts there (August 21 and 22, 1992), so I’m not sure if she sang it the two nights or just one. This comes from an old press article shared by Celine Dion Performances on Instagram earlier today. You can read the short article here.

 

Since it’s in French, here’s my English translation of the article:

There's nothing like that in the original text. There is no mention of any "performance" and the verb "to see" is not used as "to attend" but as a general observation. I think it's just misleading about the whole meaning

I agree with Woodstock. It's about translation. Nothing mentions she sang these songs, though we can image she did.

 

It's more about the fear/reticence to see Céline going into American easy listening songs... mentioning Where Does My Heart Beat Now, Nothing Broken But My Heart and others such as If You Could See Me Now, as examples.

 

It's not about judgement, in any case, but for French people, songs in English sound very very poor, regarding the text. That's what sweats from this article. Writing songs for French market ( though it's not as true as it used to be ) is focused on the text, the meaning of a story, the depth of emotions, with a vocabulary as rich as possible. Music is here just to serve the text.

It's the opposite for US - UK music. Text is not so important as long as it participate to the rythm of music. "I love you, I miss you, I need you etc". Very simple.

 

So that is what the article is about but at the end, whatever she sings, "Céline remains Céline"

I'm not sure. Australia 1996 was mono so I'm not too surprised this one is as well.
