Thanks so very very much for the info on this fascinating topic Leo, and for the wonderful photos Tim

I hope that one day we get to re-live one of these concerts in full.

Has anyone considered the fact that there may have been separate English and French setlists for this tour? I assume the setlist on Wikipedia is for an English show, considering the covers and only 3 french songs. But surely in the Quebec shows they would have performed more songs from DCP seeing as that was released in 1991??

I've always wondered the same with the Unison tour. The setlist from the Wintergarden show had only 2 French songs from Incognito. Would the Quebec shows have contained more French songs, or do you think they were really trying to push her English career in Quebec too at this point? :hmm:

Hey guys!!! According to windsorstar.com (http://www.windsorstar.com/entertainment/music/Photos+Juno+Awards+hosts+over+years/8244991/story.html) Celine performed in Toronto, Canada at the O'Keefe Centre in 1993!!! And they share this photo:

http://imageshack.us/a/img29/8441/e8el.jpg

But, the thing is, according to the official tour dates from 1993, Celine did not performed at the O'Keefe Centre. She performed at the O'Keefe Centre with the "The Colour of My Love Tour" but in 1994. So, I think the photo is from the concerts from March 5, 1994, March 6, 1994, March 7, 1994 or from May 24, 1994 and May 25, 1994.

Anyway, here is another photo from my collection (sorry for the size):

What you think????? another thing is: rare outfit!!! :o

It's an article about Juno hosts through the years . . I think the reference to Celine being at the O'Keefe Centre in 1993 is a reference to her hosting the Junos in 1993, since they were held at the O'Keefe Centre. She did host the Junos that year, but that pic is not from the 1993 Junos. Celine still had long hair when hosting the 1993 Junos:

Yeah, her hair is way too long for 1993...

At least we know she wore the same outfit in several venues...

I just found this advert about Celine's only concert in Spain. Crazy to think that my grandparents attended that show and my grandmother saw her again a year ago in Paris

April 11, 1993 Jubilee Auditorium, Edmonton

April 12, 1993 Jack Singer Hall, Calgary

April 14, 1993 Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Vancouver

April 17, 1993 Walker Theatre, Winnipeg

April 25, 1993 National Arts Centre, Ottawa

According to the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium's website (link) she gave a concert there.

According to this file, she sang at the Grand Theatre in Sudbury.

They don't mention the dates but I think both could be part of this tour because they are small theatres.

I managed to find the dates!

April 20, 1993 Thunder Bay

April 22, 1993 Sudbury

On April 24, 1993 she was part of the Gala Hommage in Saint Hyacinthe. I don't know what kind of event it was.

On the other hand, according to this site, on February 21, 1992 Celine gave a concert with Michael Bolton at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. I've never heard of it.

I was watching this video on Youtube (Think Twice Live @ Regis & Kathie Lee - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ym14TGOMus)

and Celine says she is currently on tour with Michael Bolton (3:20).

I think this is from the first months of 1994. Didn't know she was on tour with Bolton in 1994! I know she was on tour with him between july 13 and august 13, 1992.

At 5:10 they say an upcoming city or place. I don't understand. Can anyone watch it and help me? :) :giggle:

Wikipedia can be our friend ;)

From 8 June to 27 August 1994, Céline Dion toured the United States with Michael Bolton on his "The One Thing Tour". They performed in twenty-thousand-seat-arenas, and in the "sheds" that open onto natural amphitheaters. It was their second, sold out tour.[5]

Apparently she sang "Natural Woman" on this tour. I had no idea she had it in her shows before the 1994 recording she did.

Yes, she also sang Can’t Help Falling in Love. But we don’t have footages of the performances of Natural Woman and Can’t Help Falling in Love from Celine Dion Tour

One day!

To hear 92 or 93 era Celine singing Natural Woman would be INCREDIBLE. I always thought she loved the song and decided to start singing it beause she was asked for that Carole tribute album.

Yes it was funny during a 1996 interview for the FIY tour, Celine said "this is the first tour I'm doing alone, no opening or supporting act".... which was surprising but true!

I hate that they have no opening act for CWT. The DJ is pathetic and everyone assumes she’s just criminally late.

Others gave Céline a chance when she was start out. I wish she’d do the same.

She’s never really had opening acts besides comedians. Ego, maybe? Or Rene telling her she can’t share the stage with another singer? Who knows? I agree that with the prices they charge for her, it’s insane to have no other act…but then the touring company would have to give the act, all it’s band members, crew, etc. a cut of the profits and we know how into making $$$$ Celine and her team are.

The Corrs opened for her on many Irish/UK dates during the mid-90s (definitely the FIY tour and I think maybe the one before that as well). But other than that, I've only seen comedians/impressionists. I'd say it's the cost factor, plus even though she makes money hand over fist for dates these days, budgets are very different. Sony was trying to break The Corrs at the time so I'm sure that factored into the decision to feature them on such a high-profile tour (and it worked).

It's funny, right after I mention the interview, it was uploaded to Youtube. On Rosie's official Youtube page:

You can find her exact wording in the interview, but it was her first tour on her own.

I don't know if she meant among English tours, but Unison tour had at least one comedian as an opener. Then she was the opening act herself with Michael Bolton in the early 90s for her next tour for some of her run. On that same 92 - 93 tour, in Canada she was supported by a Canadian folk musician Lennie Gallant. In Quebec Anthony Kavanaugh did more openers--he is a comedian but also a singer. TCOML tour had Paul Wayne (US), Kathleen Sergerie (Canada, March-April), The Barra MacNeils, Mario Pelchat, and Marc Dupre.

Then for D'eux tour on Wikipedia The Corrs are the only opening act listed for UK/Ireland.

It’s kinda hard to believe that we don’t have a footage of If You Asked Me To from this tour remembering it’s one of the hits from that album

All the Céline shows I've been to had an opening act, except for the Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto when she started her English career. And we are talking about 15 shows.

Which is why this DJ at CWT is such an irritating, cheap cop-out. It’s like going for a Michelin-star dinner and getting Wonder Bread as your appetizer.

Meanwhile, Faouzia continues her meteoric rise and I keep thinking Céline should have grabbed has as an opener when she still could (instead she opened for Streisand at BST). I know I’ve said it here many times before, but she’s got all the ingredients and is going to be BIG. Would have been so great for Céline to give her a platform early on (and yes, she could do the French shows, too).

Charlotte Cardin could have been a great opener as well. She has just released her first album to great success and we know she’s a huge Céline fan.

Or Coeur de Pirate.

All super talented young Canadian women, bilingual, and at the brink of promising international careers.

But instead we get an hour of house loading music over the PA. It’s so cheap and reflects poorly on Céline and her team.

There were two shows at the Massey Hall in Toronto (Canada):

March 25-26, 1993 Massey Hall, Toronto (Canada)

Source: https://www.masseyha...ey-hall-events/

I've finally found the original dates for the Campbellton and Caraquet concerts which were postoned after Karine's passing. Lennie Gallant was the opening act for the May 4th to 9th dates.

May 4, 1993 Campbellton Civic Centre, Campbellton (New Brunswick)

May 5, 1993 Carrefour de la Mer, Caraquet (New Brunswick)

Source: http://rpmimages.334...May 1, 1993.pdf

Celine kept giving shows in Quebec from September 1993 until the release of The Colour Of My Love. I don't know if there were only the following or there were more. The postponed shows in Caracquet and Campbellton were reportedly to take place in September.

October 22, 1993 Auditorium Dufour, Chicoutimi (Tickets from $34.50 to $37.50)

October 25, 1993 Maurice O Bready, Sheerbroke (1,300 tickets sold).

October 26, 1993 Centre Culturel, Drummondville

November 2, 1993 Salle Antonio Thompson, Trois Rivieres

November 3, 1993 Salle Antonio Thompson, Trois Rivieres

She also performed at the Jardin des Étoiles de l'Ile Ste-Hélène on September 25, 1993. It wasn't a concert, she only sang eight songs.

The sources for all these are the archives at http://banq.qc.ca
